We are booking a surprise WDW vacation for our family of 4 (kids ages are 6 and 9) from December 28th,2011-January 3rd, 2012 (a little nervous because I know it is the craziest time of year :santa:). This is our first time staying at a WDW resort and I need help! :)

Dining reservations start in 4 days and I am clueless. Any advice is appreciated for Magic Kingdom and we also need one suggestion for Epcot (I was told to go there NYE...good advice?). Any help is appreciated!! :cool1:

Counter Service - Columbia Harbor House
Tuna sandwich, Fried shrimp, fish, good veggie sandwich

Table Service - I had a decent meatball sandwich for lunch at Tony's. Crystal Palace buffet for characters. Liberty Tree gets good reviews.

Check out the menus on allears.

As far as EP goes, what did you have in mind? TS, CS? Picky eaters? Adventurous eaters? 'Experience' dining?

Not much to pick from in the MK, but for a sit down mean I would suggest Liberty Tree Tavern, and a CS meal I would suggest Columbia Harbor House.

Thanks! Looking for TS...kids aren't too picky. We are not very formal...just looking for great food and atmosphere for the best Disney experience :) We are planning breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table and dinner at Chef Mickey. Other suggestions are helpful!

Tortuga Tavern (former Pirata y Perico) is our favorite counter service. We had better CS food than expected at Pinnochio Village Haus. The rest of my family enjoys Columbia Harbor House for CS.

For TS, we also had a pretty good meal at Tony's Town Square. I haven't been to Cindarella's Royal Table or Crystal Palace in awhile, but I used to like those.

Good luck!

Hop on the monorail and go to the Grand Floridian Cafe at GF or Kona at the Poly or the Wave at CR.

For Epcot, take the boat over to BW and try out Kouzzina's.

Those are all my favs.

The Plaza Restaurant in MK was really nice, good sandwiches, milkshakes etc. I would also recommend Liberty Tree Inn, again nice food, good service. Counter Service would probably be Cosmic Ray Starlight Cafe.

We also really enjoyed the Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot. Very nice steak/seafood and great atmosphere with one side of the restaurant being an aquarium. Good counter service would be Electric Umbrella.

We usually leave the MK for dinner and eat at either the poly (o'hana) or GF (Narcoossee's) which is exactly what we are doing this Dec.

Epcot is a total blast on NYE but it's more of an adult thing. There are wild parties at many of the countries and tons of locals come out. We were there two years ago on NYE and couldn't believe it. But we had a total blast.

Most of the restaurants in World Showcase are good. It all depends on what kind of food you prefer.

Here's a tip. They do the NYE fireworks shows for two nights Dec 30 and 31.
We did the MK show on the 30th and NYE at Epcot.
You MUST see both. After the MK show we thought there was no way Epcot could top that. We were WRONG! After the Epcot show, we all looked at each other and just said, 'WOW' 'WOW' 'WOW' AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It was on NYE that my son said to me, "Disneyworld really is the happiest place on earth".

Also, the parks are packed so get up early and avoid EMH at all costs.
The EMH parks tend to attract the most ppl. (my opinion based on 9 previous trips)
Use some sort of touringplan and fastpasses all the time.

Have fun!

LTT, Crystal Palace and Tortuga Tavern (although we haven't eaten there since it was Pirata y Perico).

At mk we like Crystal palace for breakfast but, not really for lunch or dinner. We like pecco billsfor qs they have a good selection on great fixings bar. we will be trying ltt and Tonys in the fall :cool1:

Crystal Palace for breakfast & Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. We didn't like Tony's at all and the Crystal palace dinner was just ok to us! Haven't tried the Plaza.

We like eating at Peco Bill's for lunch.

I would highly recommend Crystal Palace for lunch or dinner-delicious food and decor, characters are great-not overly intrusive, not negligent.

Also, I would recommend Columbia Harbour House for their veggie sandwich and chili or Tony's Town Square for a nice Italian dinner.

As for Epcot (my 2nd fave park), I would choose San Angel Inn-it is so pretty and has great food. Hope I helped. :yay:

Crystal Palace for breakfast
Columbia Harbour House for lunch
One of the monorail resorts for dinner

At Epcot I like to snack around the World Showcase or we eat lunch at the Rose and Crown.

Top 3 TS in the MK? Are there even 3 worth considering?

I'd only rate Liberty Tree Tavern and the Plaza as being the two worth patronizing in the MK. Seriously. And no, I didn't forget Tony's.

Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern (although I miss the chicken and dumplings). I also like breakfast at Crystal Palace - partly because I "need" to get pictures with Pooh and I like the breakfast potatos and choc chip pancakes.

The only one we like in MK is LTT. We usually go to one of the monorail resorts to eat, we love O'hana and Narcoossee's. 1900 Park Fare is a good one for breakfast, gives you a chance to see the GF. As for Epcot, there are so many good places to eat. Depends on what you guys prefer, we really like Le Cellier. Beirgarten is good and lots of fun for the kids.

In no particular order:

- CS:
- Cosmic Ray's (a lot of variety and a must-do for us!)
- Columbia Harbour House (unique and delicious options)
- Casey's Corner (just a classic that never gets old :))

- TS:
- Liberty Tree Tavern (both a la carte lunch and family-style dinner are fabulous and reasonably priced!)
- Crystal Palace (mainly for an early breakfast before the park opens or for a nice lunch and a break)
- Tony's Town Square (this is a classic and we've always had excellent service there. we love the atmosphere as well.)

**Although I've never eaten at the Plaza, I have yet to hear a bad review! Plus, it's super cheap!

ok my 2 cents. Tony's was meh. It was neat to sit and watch the light parade while eating. Food was not so great. We liked Nacoosee's(2table credits) and 1900Park Fare was great. My fav!! Counter service we have made Cosmic Rays a tradition. My kids(just now 7& 10) love it! Pecos Bill's was good too also good for a late lunch right outside @3pm perfect spot to watch the parade

Our favorite CS in the MK are Cosmic Ray's (love the chicken & ribs combo--2 people can split this!) and Pecos Bill Cafe (love the toppings bar!). We have never tried Columbia Harbour house but might on our next trip!

I enjoyed the food at Liberty Tree Tavern and liked the food but loved the character factor and ambiance in the Crystal Palace. I don't care for CRT or Tony's.

The monorail resorts have great choices as well: Ohana, Grand Floridian Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, etc.
