My mother, father, boyfriend, and I will be going to Disney in World in January. We were all looking for a few ways to save up extra money since there is usually no free dining in January, and for tours and souvenirs. Anyone have any good tips that we can start doing? Any great coupon tips or websites where I can find some? Any tip will help!

Thanks so much!!

I just started mystery shopping/auditing for Marketforce. It doesn't pay a lot, but it will work for spending money.

In my experience, all ways to SAVE money suck.

It's spending it that's FUN!

:lmao:

Good luck.

Last year the offered a free dining promo that included Jan...I am waiting for that promo now...lol

I do Sunriserewards they pay you to do surveys and you can either get paypal or Disney giftcards...I have been a slacker at it but you can do pretty well...

Also do swagbucks but I use that to buy amazon giftcards (better deal then paypal) so it doesnt earn me disney money but I using amazon for gifts so that saves me money I would have spent elsewhere.

I also do Mypoints and have enough points now for Rainforest Cafe Giftcard...

I've been selling things on Etsy. I have a lot of vintage items I found at thrift stores or just acquired and they have a vintage section on etsy. I like selling there better than ebay because the listings are longer, you just set a price- no bidding, and people who shop there appreciate the item's value- not just looking for a quick deal. So maybe you can see if you have any neat, vintagey things to sell.

I know you can make and sell things on Etsy and I can sew pretty well, but I have no idea what kind of things I could sew.

There are 3 things that I do that are pretty painless. I save my change, five dollar bills and I round up plus add $1 for every transaction in my check book. I just cashed everything in and I had $220 in change, $170 in $5's and $475 extra in my check book for a total of $865.

Wow, that's some good savings! I'll have to start trying that out.

If you aren't already cutting corners, cut them. Then save the money from the cuts.

For instance, go for the store brand canned goods rather than the named brand ones. Have a vegetarian meal or breakfast for dinner a few nights a week. Skip the movie or the pizza night and do it at home. Use the library rather than buying books. Go cold turkey on vices - whether they be the adult ones like cigarettes or liquor, or the girlie ones like manicures.

Now the trick is to move the money you saved when you pass on something into a place its difficult for you to touch (a lot of people use cash and put it in a jug that's hard to get into, other people set up a bank account). So when you are done grocery shopping, add up all the money saved from buying store brands and beans, put that into the Disney Fund. When your manicure day comes up, cancel the appointment and move the money into the Disney fund.
