What Subjects ARE Appropriate for This Board?

Could a moderator or webmaster please clarify?

Why would a thread about where to find discounted Disney tickets be moved to the Theme Parks Board but one about discount tickets to a waterpark in Texas remain here?

Is this board only for discussion non-Disney discounts and savings? If so, then why would a thread be moved to the Community Board when it is asking for medical input for someone who is reluctant to spend limited funds at the doctor?

The homeschoolers on the Family Board cannot get their own subforum because there are plenty of other forums on the internet that are dedicated to homeschooling. Well, there are plenty of other forums on the internet for bargains (slickdeals), couponing (afullcup), handling debt (llnoe) and so on.

So could we please get some guidelines here? It's frustrating to be following a thread here only to have it moved to another forum where it just dies.

The Theme Parks Board is for Disney Theme parks only, so the Waterpark in TX would stay on the generic Budget Board.

Not sure about that, maybe the thread took a turn from being budget oriented to more medical oriented?

I think it was mentioned there wasn't enough activity to warrant a separate board, which would require increased bandwidth, moderator involvement, time and money, etc. The Budget board is extremely active.

Just my guesses....

I would love clarification on this, too. Lately the moves have seemed random. I've stated numerous times before, I'd rather have any post I make deleted rather than moved to the Community Board. The number and type of moves here lately have left me shaking my head!

Didn't you already post this this morning - where did that go? I believe the advice given in that thread to ask a mod by PM is probably the best best.

Nope. Didn't post this earlier this morning. This is the only thread I posted on the Budget Board regarding this.

And the reason I did not take this to PM or email is because I think that we all need some clarification in this matter. It's not as if my threads have been moved but threads that I have been reading and following have. If they aren't appropriate for this forum, that's fine but it would be helpful to know.

And regarding the tickets thread...it's not like I want the Schitterbahn thread moved too. I just don't feel that a question regarding Disney tickets was inappropriate for THIS forum.

It seems as if anything Disney budget related is moved from here unless it's about swaps. Probably because no moderators want to deal with them.

Not a Moderator. But as the person who set up and maintains the Everything About WDW Tickets locked sticky in TPA&S I can see the point. the TPA&S forum has lots of discussion related to Disney tickets and are more likely to get better answers in that forum than this one.

Personally, I just decided it has to do with the mod's decision at that moment... whether they felt like reading it and whether they knew the poster.

I had a thread moved once then saw a similar thread not too long after that didn't get moved, the difference being the person who started it posts more than I do. I don't think it's an intentional prejudice or anything, just if you recognize somebody you appreciate their threads more. Basic human nature.
