I have a budget of 500$ for something I need to buy on the 21st of July. I presently have 375$ after yard sale, ebaying and will get another 25$ after cashing out mypoints. So I need to find a way to earn 100$ in the next one month. I am SAHM with a traveling DH so getting a job in not possible. Any stay at home ideas for a 100$ in one month?

Look around your house some more.... I'm sure you have more stuff there you can sell and make your $100. If you have some old gold jewelry you no longer want, sell that.

What about babysitting? Perhaps you can make the extra money up there and still be at home.

I'm not sure how dire your need is but I have a friend who just made $150 cleaning 1 house yesterday... she was recently laid off and posted on FB that she would be willing to cut yards, clean houses, babysit- whatever the case may be- if someone needed or knew of anyone that needed a service like that. Someone did and she was offered.

If you are a member of a church- you could ask the pastor if there are any odd jobs you could do or if he could post in the bulletin that you are willing to sit with the elderly or run errands. I know a lot of elderly would be more than willing to pay to have someone drive them to and from the doctor or grocery store.

I know in my town there are several organizations that will give you $ for donating plasma... just like donating blood- you lay there while they draw the blood, a machine spins the plasma off, and the machine returns the blood back to you. I know a lot of people that do this as well as donate blood just for the sake of helping others- but I do know that most are offered monetary compensation for the plasma donation.

That's all I could come up with so far! Good luck!

Normally would you eat out in the next month? If so replace those meals out with food at home and "bank" that money. Any leftovers from the yard sale? Try for another one in two weeks try to add more stuff. Ask your friends, family, neighbors if they have anything they would give you to sell. Make a snacks and drinks table for the next one. Any change or "petty money" hanging around the house you could cash in? Any forgotten about giftcards you could sell for slightly less to friends or family? Any nights out or play outings planned you could forego and "bank" that money?

Any old gold jewelry laying around? There is a thread on here for US Gold Buyers and a lot of us had good luck with them!

Check your state's unclaimed property for yours & DH's names- might take longer than a month to arrive though.

Try selling leftovers from your garage sale on craigslist.

When I was a kid we were POOR and I used to walk the country roads we lived on and pick up aluminum cans to sell. DH would DIE if I did that now....but I still see $ that people have just tossed on the side of the street.

You could try garage saling for profit but this is risky as you don't want to deplete your fund.

Anything you can take to a consignment shop? Anything you've been meaning to return, but haven't yet?

We get incentives in the mail all the time to switch banks for $50-$100.

Can you challenge yourself to eat from the pantry/fridge and used saved grocery money?

Could you find $3 a day to stash away? Cut out coffee or some other "extra" you do every day?

When I need money I cut something.

Here are some $100 ideas:

1. Change the groceries this month
2. Don't eat out this month
3. Call the TV company and put your subscription on hold for the month
4. Plan our outings to spend $100 less in gas this month
5. Don't shop/buy anything unless absolutely necessary this month
6. Only (almost) free entertainment (neighborhood pool, maybe a $1 Red Box)

Dawn

Do a "Parents Date Night" - offer a night of babysitting for your friends - then make it a party with the kids - movie night, play games, etc. $20/kid - get 5 kids - $100.

Good Luck!

If like mypoints than should try swagbucks.com you cash out for cash in paypal. I cash out now every week for 5.00 dollars in paypal every week. Is the best deal on swagbucks no. But it cash money.

I did that this weekend. But I was at music festival picking up cans. If they would let take rest cans I would made good money.

We collect cans! Whenever we see one, we bring it home. My husband and I run the concession stand for our local Little League. I'm amazed at how many people throw the refund cans in the recycling bins! My husband is there at closing and he always takes the refund cans out!

We've made at least $100 this year doing that. All of it goes straight into our Disney Bin!

And, if I had to make $100 quickly - I'd clean someone's house or do odd jobs for them.

How about your monthly bills? Are there services you can cut or ask for discounts to reduce your monthly bills? Then take the savings towards your $100. Check your auto & home ins, phone, internet, cable -I have been able to save a lot just by calling and asking for the latest deal or cutting services we really don't need.

Babysitting is another good idea, with the summer, there may be families that need short term care during the day.

Hi, Jennifer! I was a lifelong Grosse Pointer, lived in the Woods, until September when I moved to the Pacific Northwest. They don't do bottle deposit here---and my 14 year old is so bummed. It used to be a big part of his income!

How is life in GP? Eventually I'll get back there to visit family & friends.

It's a Small World After All!!!!! HI!!!! I just love it here! We've been here 11 years and cannot imagine a better place to live. The people here are SO nice. There are so many opportunities here for the kids that I never had growing up. How do you like hour new area? That had to have been a tough move for your 14 yo!

My older kids are embarrassed by the fact that I collect the cans. It's not like I go around with a shopping cart collecting them! When I'm out for my run, I'll pick one up. Or, if we're out for a walk, I'll pick one up. But, they sure do like our vacations!!!

I've met some really nice people from GP ON this board!

If you have time to take some surveys, try Quick Rewards. I cash out for PayPal and get my money within a few hours, never more than 24 hours from request to payment. If you are able to do a few surveys a day you could probably get half of that money easily! GOOD LUCK!
