Does anyone have a Flip cam or something similiar? So you like it or have any recommendations for me? I am thinking about buying one for our up coming trip! Thanks for any suggestions!

We have the Kodak Zi6 ( a few years old) and we love it. I think there are one or two newer models out now. It is easy to use and I like that it takes still pictures as well as video.

Kodak Playsport! Love it.

It records in 1080p, is waterproof, and takes a memory card for more video storage.

I have the Sanyo Xacti (720p) that's a couple years old and I love it. Pictures are not so hot (They're good on a nice day outside), but the video and sound is quite amazing for the cost. Here's a link to the one I have and some links to a youtube video I took:

Cnet review (note that the video gets good review but as I stated the pictures are not the best, though by far not the worst either).

We also have a Kodak PlaySport and we love it too!! It's so much fun to be able to take underwater! We got it for this and because it records in 1080p and at the time we bought it the Flip cameras only recorded in 720p.

Flip is going to stop making their recorders soon too... Cisco (their parent company) announced in April they were going to shut down the Flip division.

We have the Kodak Playsport too and LOVE it! I think it takes better quality video than my $1000 cam corder. However, I think it's important to note that these cameras are really for close range only. They don't have a very powerful zoom for far away subjects.

We have a Kodak Playsport as well and we LOVE it! I really have nothing but great things to say about it.

I have the Sony Bloggie 8GB Touch. It is ok. I would not buy another one. It takes ok still pictures but takes a while for the lens to capture the subject if not completely still. The video is good but the on playback the volume is low. It also has no flash for dark pictures or night video.

We have the flip and it is super simple. We also have a couple more, but they are harder to figure out, the flip just works for us. It is the HD version.

I also have a Bloggie...I like it. I am not a video camera kinda person so it's good enough for me...was affordable...easy to carry.

I have this as well and I love it. Its also shockproof which is the reason DH bought it for me (and of course I did drop it on day 2 of owning it while trying to record Wishes at MK).

We love our Flip. It takes really amazing videos and the sound is really decent. I love how small and portable it is. We took it on our honeymoon and we went ziplining in Isla Roatan and my husband strapped it to his wrist and took video of us screaming our heads off while ziplining. It's amazing video! Couldn't do that with a regular camcorder.

I've been considering getting a pocket camcorder too.

My problem is that I like to walk around while filming, so I need to be able to hold the camera really still. Is it easy to do that with such a tiny camcorder? A lot of videos I've seen with these camcorders are pretty shaky, albeit excellent quality pictures.

I think anything hand held is going to be a bit shaky but I really didn't notice the flip video to be shakier than bigger camcorders.

i have the flip, actually we have two flips - got a great price its the standard one not hd - anyway its sooo easy to use - like others said its not great a long distance but the sound quality is really good!

Do you love yours? Has it worked well in water? My DS just got one and he's really excited. He wants to use it at the waterparks. He's been reading reviews and trying it out in the splash pool/slide at my mother's house LOL He did say something about reading that water got in the microphone easily and you had to blow it out.

Another PlaySport owner! We love it!! It is so easy to use and I love how you can add extra space with a memory card!! We got some great shots of DD in the pool (its awesome that it is waterproof) That was the biggest selling point for us in case DD throws it in a toliet or something. Best of luck! :goodvibes

For those of you that have the Playsport...

Do you have the Zx3 or the Zx5? I know you mentioned that it wasn't great for far away recording, and I was trying to figure out if those of you who mentioned that had the 3 or the 5. Thanks :goodvibes

I have had it for a year now. I love the ease of e-mailing the videos to Grandparents and others! So easy to use the FLIP itself and love that the software is built right in. PLUG n PLAY basically.
