I will never go to WDW pushing a stroller! - Nov/Dec 2011 PTR, Final? Itinerary 11/18

I think your tastes are very similar to mine, so I'll be sure to let you know what we think. I'm not a "foodie" by any stretch of the imagination, but I love to eat. It doesn't have to be fancy, it just has to taste good!:thumbsup2

Meat. Potatoes. Yup, we're good. :thumbsup2

Well, we've considered that, but rice likes its water to be still, not flowing. :lmao:

We are still very wet and not even close to being able to do anything here in our area, but the water is receding a bit and the last couple of days have been nice. If we can dodge rain over the weekend things will probably get busy around here next week.

This is very much off topic, but I just want to say that I really feel bad for the farmers in Missouri that got flooded out by the levee that was blown up to save Cairo, IL. It is taking a backseat to the Bin Laden news this week, but there is some devastating flooding there. Homes and farm buildings lost, farms under several feet of water. Heard from someone with in-laws who farm in the flooded area that they're watching the water rise on their home by feet at a time and were told their property will probably be under water until August. On top of that, they're saying crop insurance won't pay out on the thousands of acres in that area because this flood isn't considered a natural disaster since it was caused by the government removing a levee.:scared1:

After seeing that devastation, if the worst thing that happens to me is that I'll have to change my travel plans, I'll do so with a smile on my face.:thumbsup2

Wow, that sounds awful. You're right, it's being buried--I hadn't heard about it.

I had heard about that. I sure hope the government is going to step up and take care of those Missouri folks that if flooded out. I know I'd sure be ticked off if the land my family worked for generations was sacrificed to save a town.

I think your itinerary look great and I really hope that you are able to take your trip when planned!

I heard about those poor flooded out farmers, it really is a mess isn't it! :sad2:

Yeah, I hope the govt does something. The lady here with the in-laws in that area said they had 3500 acres of corn planted before the levee was blown. They've probably lost somewhere around $1 million just in the seed and fertilizer alone that are sitting there under water, not to mention property damage and other operational expenses. If the govt won't help them out, it could put a lot of farmers in that area out of business.

Hi, glad to have you here!

Yeah, I hope things work out for us. I'm just going to press on with this plan until we know for sure! If it won't work, we can always push it back. Thanks for reading!

I keep hearing great things about Via Napoli...it didnt make the cut this year, but I am really interested to see what you guys think about it :goodvibes

Flame Tree BBQ gets :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

That is my favorite CS meal

I think a late night on arrival day is fine. It might be easier getting your Landon to bed, if it's already late and he's very tired. We like Captain Cook's.

Via Napoli sounds great. I hope you get good weather for Flame Tree BBQ. It's best when the weather is just right for sitting outside. CP will be fun. I can't wait to take my boys there to meet all the Pooh characters.

I think I'd do dinner at Chef Mickey's. It would be a nicer ending to the trip. I've never eaten at Chef Mickey's so I can't comment on food quality of dinner or breakfast, but dinner sounds like it would be more fun.

I've never done either of those, but I've heard nothing but positive reviews. You really can't go wrong with good BBQ and pizza.

Thanks for the feedback. DW is really looking forward to the character meals, but we'll really just have to see how he does around characters in the parks first... that's why we aren't doing any at the beginning of the trip. If he doesn't show any interest in them, we can always cancel CP and CM if we have to. I'm kind of leaning towards the dinner at Chef Mickeys. I think it would be great to end our trip by having dinner with Mickey so we can thank him for his hospitality and say goodbye.

Just spotted your trip report link and we'll be there same time :)

Thanks for stopping by! Fingers are crossed for great weather and low crowds.

Yeah I've fingers crossed for great weather and less people as well. I've got Discovery cove booked and really don't fancy swimming in the cold lol! Hopefully it'll be nice though

Subbing, but it's pretty late here in Korea...looking forward to catching up on it tomorrow!

Really hoping that you get to go.

Via Napoli is a great TS when paying out of pocket. We ate there using a TS credit in December and it was good, but the pizza was definitely the best thing on the menu and it wasn't the same price as typical TS entrees.

Okay, reading this PTR and other TR's by other DisDADS makes me want to start up my own PTR for this October....to do or not to do:confused3, anyway, good read so far.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking. That, and I like pizza.:confused3

I think you should write one. I like doing it because it just gives me another place to kind of outline my plans, and here, I'm not the only one looking at it so I can get some valuable feedback.:thumbsup2

180 DAYS TO GO!!!!
Today is our ADR day. I didn't get up early to grab them at 6:30 am when it opened up. Not that I'm not excited, but there's a lot going on right now and I value my sleep. I was busy working on the farm last night until about 11pm and on top of that, DS is sick right now, so nobody in our house is sleeping well this week. I got online at about 7:45 after I got to work and had trouble with the system. It kept asking me to re-enter my hotel reservation info, yet still wouldn't allow me to make an ADR and get a confirmation number. I just kept getting error messages from Disney's website. I spent probably 45 minutes fighting with my computer and I was beginning to get very frustrated. I really couldn't call, because I'm at work and I need to be available to handle "work stuff" instead of being tied up on the phone with a CM. Eventually I started to wonder if it would make a difference if I tried using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. I'm happy to say that worked, although I have no idea why.:confused3 I logged into my Disney account with Firefox, entered my hotel reservation once and within minutes I had all my ADRs! I know that is a little bit long-winded, but I thought I would share my experience in case it might help anyone else who has problems with the online ADR system. Whether the browser I was using actually had an effect on anything, I don't know, but making that change worked for me this morning. Now for the ADRs... and don't flame me too bad for 12/3. We'll cancel either breakfast or dinner as soon as we can decide which one we want for sure.

11/28 - Whispering Canyon Cafe 1:15pm
11/29 - QS all day
11/30 - Via Napoli 11:30am
12/1 - QS all day (may book a Fantasmic package later)
12/2 - Crystal Palace 8:10am
12/2 - La Hacienda de San Angel 6:30pm
12/3 - Chef Mickey 8:10am
12/3 - Le Cellier 12:00pm**
12/3 - Chef Mickey 6:15pm
**DW doesn't know about this one yet:rolleyes1

We are trying to decide between using QS credits to get breakfast or taking our own cereal to eat in the morning. If we choose to take breakfast, we will likely cancel La Hacienda, Le Cellier and won't do a Fantasmic package.

One change from earlier plans is WCC on 11/28 instead of 11/29. We decided that since we're going to do HS in the morning and then come back and relax before heading to MVMCP on 11/29, we'd prefer to not have an ADR in there to work around. We'll just go to HS for as long as we want, grab QS somewhere and then go take a nap before MVMCP. Having a reservation on 11/28 for lunch will also help me to give DW a little motivation to get packed up and leave the beach.:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

I have one question for anybody who can give me some advice. We are planning to see Illuminations on 12/2 (despite a 7.8 rating for EPCOT on tp:scared1:). We want to eat at La Hacienda before heading out to find a spot to see Illuminations. We would like to eat as late as we can before doing so, but we don't want to get an ADR to watch from the restaurant because we don't want to risk not getting a good spot to see the show from inside the restaurant. We're booked for 6:30pm, but does anybody think we should move it up, or could we possibly get by with going for a later time? Thanks!

Hmmm....6:30 ADR. Figure worst case you're seated at 7. About an hour or so to eat gets you to 8. Illuminations starts at 9. Depending on how good of a spot you want for Illuminations, I wouldn't go much past what you have.

Looks like a good list! But why would you ever consider giving up a Le Cellier reservation? :confused3

I'm with Barry--I'd stick with that time at La Hacienda. Should be flexible enough to give you a good Illuminations spot.

I think your ADR time is good for getting a spot at Illuminations. You could try arriving for check-in a bit earlier and if they can fit you in, possibly get seated earlier. This may give you an extra 10 - 20 minutes to find a good spot.
