I got leied once at O'Hana, but I had to initiate the process.
You have to at least taste the bread pudding. Where's Homer ???
Ohhh Girrrrrlll We so need to take you back!!!!
Actually, I saw TONS of people getting leis when checking into the Poly, but I didn't get any there either. I have a guess on why, but I"ll save that for my own TR.
You have to at least taste the bread pudding. Where's Homer ???
Mark's not been around lately- at least here. Glenn has a copy too- Boys! Where are you, when we need you??
Not even at check-in?? Aw, your CM must have been so in awe of the beauties standing before her/him that a Lei did not occur to her/him!!
Last time we stayed at the Poly in '07, we had to ask for our Lei's. Would not have thought of it if my friend hadn't noticed everyone else checking in being giving Lei's. That trip we had the grumpy CM at check-in - she seems to have a rep for always being grumpy.
Sheesh! I honestly don't know how the rest of you keep up with these TR's all the time! Here you go...
(although truth be told, I don't care for bananas in my dessert)
Haha! Yes, I"m sure our sheer loveliness had a lot to do with his reluctance to give the goods, but there were a couple of other factors that also went into it- I'm almost positive- a bit of drama (ok, a whole bunch of drama!) in fact.
GREAT to see you around again, Christine! I haven't seen you on the DIS in a while, but think of you whenever I open up FB.
Drama?! See how much I've missed not being on the DIS!!! Sooo many TR's to catch up with!! Will be working on it this week for sure though.
How sweet of you to think of me when you go to FB - but likely that's due to some post of mine about dog rescue greeting you. I wish there was a way for such post NOT to show up on every friend's page. Sorry 'bout that.
The Poly drama starts in about 2 posts from now. We'll see- I tend to be wordy and obviously am taking forever about getting my TR done.
I don't mind at all!!! You're a nice person to "think about' each day.
Our plan after dinner was to head to DTD. When we stepped out of the Poly it was raining out. Dave and I ran to the cars and picked everyone up at the door. We drove to DTD in the pouring rain, thunder, & lightning and Mel & I were questioning if this was a smart idea. When we got to DTD I checked the radar and it seemed like the storm was about to pass. We sat in the car for 10 minutes when the rain looked like it was letting up. I made the call that we could make it to a store and not get soaked, so we got out and started loading up our stroller. All of the sudden, the skies opened up again. Melody and Juliana hopped into the hatch of the truck. I was laughing at them and I had to take a picture! (Look, she's still smiling!)
The downpour only lasted for 2-3 minutes then we tried it again and made it into the World of Disney. Juliana needed to use the bathroom and I was in contact with another DISer Crissy (smiliecrissy) and we were going to meet inside the WoD.
Juliana wasn't listening too well when we got in the store and we had just disciplined her when we met Crissy. She was so nice and brought Juliana some socks and a sock purse from the LittleMisMatched store- it was so nice of her! Thank you!!!! We had the chance to talk for a few minutes while Juliana modeled some sunglasses.
Crissy just moved to Orlando from the North East and lucky her- she gets to go to Disney whenever she wants! After a short meeting we were off again!
Where to start..... so much to comment on!looks like you all had a fun time at O'hana's! love all the cute pics of the kid's, too sweet!
Yay, you got to meet Crissy, she is so sweet....we got to hang out with her at EP one night~~~ will be in my next update ~~~
great photo of your girls with pooh!
It was perfect, although seeing Wishes would of been a tad better! With the exception of the rain, it looks like you had the perfect first day/night at Disney.
Well, it WAS requested- and we linked our reservations- but I had low expectations.Yeah, but if you tried to arrange that, you'd be on the 4th floor of the 50's section, they'd be on the first floor of 80s.
Mostly Mel and Juliana.... but Bill was happy to see I brought a couple 12 packs of Yuengling! Were they happy to see all of you or just Mel and Juliana?
This is a family board ya know!Tim, you're a dirty ma.... oh, leid. Didn't notice the spelling there.
The 20% was included with the Tables of Wonderland card.Did you have to tip her?
NO! Half Eaten salad does not count as food porn. No way, no how, never! The rest are find - great pictures, even - but salad? As Food Porn?
Of course you give it to him!I LOVE their shrimp. But they're just too much work to peel and eat. And 9 times out of 10, as soon as I peel it, Evan will give me those puppydog eyes and ask if he can have it.
Does your prince & princess listen all the time? I'm sure they would NEVER do anything wrong.....Cute little adorable and sweet Princess Juliana?!?
There must be some kind of misunderstanding here. Are you sure you weren't being mean to her just to be mean?
Thanks Dave!!!!!!great pics tim! i had to laugh we got the same pic of briana in ohanas walking around in the parade with the maracas.(i cant spell) kids seem to be having a great time, always smiling. when briana was small, i would unpack while tammy and briana went to the pool. after 16 1/2 hours in a car with me, they needed to get away. i love the pic of the castle, im going steal that castle one day. great up date!
I think you need to get back to 'Ohana pronto!!!! The food is so good there!!Great pics! It's been so long since we've eaten at Ohana! I don't remember bread at Ohana?! So cute that your daughter was the bread person. I also don't remember the noodles or broccoli? Glad you all enjoyed the meal!
There were fire watches when we were there too.... I stopped watching the news once we got to Disney..Cute picture in the hatchback. We need some heavy rain again in Central Florida. Everything is getting so dry and there have been fire watches 'til 7pm every night, due to dryness.
Ooooohhhhh!!!!! POP is such a fun resort! I know you will have a great time!Loving your pictures of Pop Century! We are at the 16 day countdown to our mini-vacation at Pop!
Sorry to make you drool! We love 'Ohana!!!Thanks! Now I am drooling. Ohana's is our favorite place to eat. We had to eat there twice last trip.
I don't think you will be disappointed with 'OhanaGreat Pix of Pop and O'Hanas !!!We will be staying at Pop and are doing O'Hanas dinner for the first time !!!Your pix made me even more excited avout this dinner
We got leid when we walked into the Poly! I think Juliana got pink leis at 'Ohana.... ut oh... It's starting to get fuzzy!Ohana. Yum. Yum. DH and I made our first trip there in April and man, I think you need two stomachs in order to eat in there!! Either that, or don't eat at all during the day! I also had one of the Lapu Lapu's and my husband had the backscratcher. Ooh, I could use a Lapu Lapu right about now!! I have to agree with you about the pork, it was very dry. We didn't get any turkey though. Nor did we get leid. I hope when we go back in October they give the girls their leis. I really think it adds something to the experience.
Two updates in as many days!! Keep 'em comin'!!
Thanks for all the kind words! Can I just say TOO FREAKING CUTE! Both your wife and daughter are gorgeous! I have never eaten at Kona, but it's on my to-do-list for my next trip! I took the same hidden Mickey picture at the poly back in April! Too funny about the downpour!
Glad I am useful for something...Seen photos of this...but never have been able to see the hidden Mickey...not even in person...but I think maybe I see it thanks to your wonderful skills of getting it exactly not in the center of the photo.
Well, we were in the bowling pin pool.. the HD pool was closed for refurb!Swim time in the Hippy Dippy Pool - always a great start to a trip especially when enjoyed with friends!
We were meeting people all over the place!I can't believe how many meets you fit in on your first day. My head is spinning!
Dinner is great there. You will NOT leave hungry! I can't look at the 'Ohana pics anymore, it makes me sad.I the Poly! We were not impressed with Ohana for breakfast but I would like to try dinner some time! Between the food pics and the Lapu Lapu, I am hungry and thirsty! Looks like a fun meet/dinner/bday celebration! That is a great hidden mickey - there are a lot at the Poly if you ever get a chance to explore there.
My day ended around midnight.. and we had to be up early the next day!for shopping at DTD and another meet! Sounds like a nice end to a great day!
You know how we do... never a dull moment!!!WOW lots of fun DISmeets,
checking into POP, the extra night add on
and pool time and a fun family dinner at Ohana, this is shaping up to be quite the trip already
I should be done with this TR soon... (yea rite!)So after joining this party late, I am finally caught up.
I saw some of your DDs poses on FB (the wedding pics) She is too cute BTW! I think it is a girl thing!Love Juliana's poses! My little girl is starting to strike some of the same poses when we take pictures, so I wonder if it's a girl thing? Either way, cracks me up each time.
I think they moved it.... It was near guest relations.I love the pic on the "Pooh bench" at DTD. We were taking the obligatory pic there each trip but when we were there in Feb., it was gone! I think they were remodeling the Pooh store so it must have been moved for a bit.
I wish I could be at a Florida beach right now.
Mee too!!!!!Love me some Ohana grub.
This is where I draw the line at- Pics, or it didn't happen!Wow, that's a little bit more Disney magic than I was expecting.
How much ya got?I was just thinking that we needed a Designated Bread Person in our home. Is she available to hire?
I wonder if Scotty would be scared of the BIG flames coming up from the grills?Haven't eaten at Ohana yet. This must be remedied.
I always wanted to be a weatherman. Maybe I should make a few calls.Sounds like your weather prediction skills are good enough to get you hired full-time! Have you talked to the local affiliates?
