Job Application Question?

Hello! I am about to graduate from college in the spring and am hoping to spend a few months working in one of the Disney parks after I graduate. I went on the Disney World jobs site and attempted to apply, but it wouldn't let me. I did apply for a couple of internships, such as a WDPR a couple of months ago and I know that you cannot apply for another WDW job in 6 months, but I figure since it is a completely different position that that is not the reason. Any help?

You have to wait 6 months before applying with Disney again, no matter which roles you have applied for or plan to apply for.

I'm not sure what you mean by the 6 month rule. You can only take the web based interview once every 6 months, but once you pass you can apply for as many roles as you want, there is no waiting period.

Are you using IE? That is the recommended browser.

What kind of roles are you applying for? If you're looking at Disneycareers.com then you have to upload your resume (pdf) and update your profile. Link your resumes to the specific jobs you're applying for.

If you're looking for a role in the parks, then after you pass the WBI, you will be invited to an interivew. I know we're in high hiring right now so they may interview you over the phone; but in slower periods they typically only interview locals for front line roles.

I called the job hotline a couple of days ago, they looked up my account and told me to just go ahead and create a new account using another e-mail addreess. So I applied for a postion in attractions. Does anyone know when I should be hearing back, assuming they're interested? I was planning to go down to Orlando soon. Would it do any good to stop by the Casting Center at WDW and just follow-up? Thanks!

So if you pass the WBI is it likely right now to have a phone interview? I actually applied for seasonal on Monday and received a link for the WBI today. (former Disney Store castmember for 9 1/2 years). I haven't taken the WBI yet but it would help to know if I would be able to have a phone interview. We will be down there next week so I could always interview in person if needed but I was just wondering.

I also just applied for seasonal (Merchandise). Passed the WBI last night and received an email today inviting me for an in-person interview. I was thinking there would be a phone interview first, but no. The dates were starting today and going through May 16 (I think). The first opening was next Monday so that's when I'm going. :)

So...does anyone know if they tell you immediately if you got the job or do you have to wait, and if so about how long does it take before you find out?

Yup..mine is also for an in-person interview...mine is set for May 14th.

Good Luck! I love your ticker - ha ha! I wish I was that confident! So you do think we'll find out that day? I hope so!

What role did you apply for? I put Merchandise, with Custodial & Attractions as my next 2, but I'd really be happy with any of them.

I applied for what their calling the Online Job Fair. I applied and was passed on to a Web Based interview. After the WBI I was immediately able to schedule an in person interview for May the 12th. The Job fair is available through may 8th.

LOL...my ticker is actually for my daughter who is offically part time as of May 15, 2011. She started with the Career Start Program last September, extended and will now be staying on as a character performer.

I applied for Seasonal Merchandise as well given my years with the Disney Store, I figured it was a no brainer. I did indicate that I would not be able to start until July so I am not sure how that would affect me finding out anything.

Oh, LOL - that's too funny that it's the next day after your interview! That's wonderful for her!

My DD did the CP in Spring 2010 (Costuming) and stayed seasonal since she's attending college in Orlando, so if I get the job I'll be living with her during training and then whenever I go back down to work. I'm so excited! I really hope both our dreams come true!

I applied for them all the way back in the beginning of March and told them that I couldn't work until the 30th of April as I would be in school up in Jacksonville. She told me that she'll do her best to have me there on the 30th, which I did end up getting a spot in, or the closest date possible. You should be fine with not getting in until July. And, it's really great that you've worked at the Disney Store. You'll have higher priority, if that's what it's called. haha.

I don't think they do phone interviews for those of us actually looking for a job. haha.

When I had my interview, they asked me on the spot whether I would accept or decline. They sent me an email about 2 or 3 days later confirming it.

It is REALLY hard to get hired for attractions.. It may take up to a month before you even hear back from them. My best friend sent in a resume in March or April and still hasn't heard back from them.

It's ahrd to get a job in attractions? I figured something like that because I have not been prompted for a WBI yet. I worked at the Disney Store in a seasonal position recently but am not too interested in any job other than attractions or transportation.

I applied for a job in QSFB on April 27, but there is no link to take a WBI or anything. Does this mean they are not considering me for the job?

Make sure you are checking all of your mail folders. The link for the WBI actually went into one of my spam folders. I would have missed it completely except that I checked my mail first through my Ipod and my ipod doesn't have the same filters as my program on my computer.

All I have recieved were a thank you letter saying I was added to the database and another saying thank you for applying for QSFB. Should I call them?

Don't worry. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm going to Orlando later in the week and I'm going to stop by the Casting Center and just follow-up on my application. I hope that seeing me in person, instead of simply an application online, will help. That's the only thing that I know to do.
