So this is (sort of) off topic in that it doesn't have to do with Disney, but yet it sort of does. I'm transferring to a different college next year and today was my last day at my current college. I went/go to Oxford College of Emory University which is a two-year undergraduate division. All my friends will go on to Emory College, but I'm transferring.
It was super tough saying good-bye to everyone, but especially saying bye to my work study supervisor. We became friends over the last two years and she truly taught me so much about myself and helped me grow as a person. We gave each other gifts, took pictures together, and then had to say goodbye. She went on to tell me I've taught her as much as she's taught me and that she'll never forget me. Both of us got choked up. Her gift to me was a Walt Disney Biography by Neal Gaber. The inscription she wrote inside said, "Carrielee, Now it's your turn to paint the world with your dreams. I'm so proud of you! You will go far in life! Remember, if you ever get lost: Second star to the right and straight on til morning. I'm behind you every step of the way. Love always, Mary."
We are facebook friends and she said she's going to facebook stalk me and that I better keep in touch, but it's not the same as working with her every day and having the chance to talk to her about anything and everything, from personal problems to school work to just random stuff. She really helped me get over my shyness and was my rock during the personal hell I went through my freshman year and the first part of this year.
I'm sitting here at home and keep alternating between feelings of being happy it's summer, and being completely depressed and bawling. I miss Mary already.
