Should I or shouldnt I? (online check in)

Not really sure if its something I should do or not? We arrive in Orlando around 11am. What would you do? :confused3

I would totally (and have) do online check in one less thing you have to do before you get to start your vacation!

Used it for the first time last December. It worked flawlessly. When we got to WL, our package was waiting for us with everything all set. I'm going to do the same for my POFQ trip. In fact, now that I think about it, I'm going to do it right now!

If you have no specific resort requests, and will be happy with the room assigned, then do on line check in. This is what it is designed for, speedy check in- grab & go.

If you have specific requests, and may want to have your room changed if you don't like what is assigned, then don't do on line check in. Wait till you arrive to check in. Because you will hold up the on line check in line, defeating it's purpose. Kinda like the people who use the express check out at the grocery store with more then the alloted items. Will the clerk tell them to take their stuff to another line? no.

People will post that they've been able to change their rooms on the on line check in line, but it's not what that line is meant for. The CM can't refuse to do it. Although I have heard that some will then direct you to the other line to make any changes.

I do regular check in, because I do have room requests. Last time we checked into POR, the regular line was much shorter then the on line check in.

We were contemplating to do it ourselves but decided to do it anyway. Like Sue M mentioned, as long as you don't have any specific room requests and won't change your room location to another one once you get there, then go ahead and do it. To tell you the truth, I like doing it because I am very excited before our trips anyways and when we do online check-in, it just adds fuel to the fire :goodvibes

I just did ours  We don't have any room requests and are hoping for early check in. We used it last trip at WL and it was quick & easy.

What happens if you make a basic request, something that's on the online check in form (not anything wildly different), and when you receive your packet, you realize it just isn't what you'd like?

Can't you just get in the check in line like everyone else and see about changing it? You haven't lost any time, right?

Or would that screw up the delivery of your luggage with ME?

Just thinking out loud.

I'm swimming in a sea of online check in madness!!

My online check in can be in 2 days, but I put on my DRC reservation POFQ Building 4 close to the bus.

If I do online check in I'm afraid I won't get that request. I just want to be as close to the bus stop as possible.

For a last minute trip, I checked in online 3 days before arrival. I had only booked the trip 6 days out. Before I did checkin online, I added the requested building to my reservation over the phone and when I arrived I got exactly what I wanted when we checked in.

I figured that it couldn't hurt and if I didn't get what I wanted, I would just get on the check in line and see if it could be changed.

I can do online check-in in 6 days and have the same dilemma. We have a AS Movies preferred room and did preferred basically so that we could request a room in one of the Toy Story buildings. I don't know what type of "basic requests" are on the online form. When my day arrives can I choose online check in to find out what my options are and then click out of it before I submit it? Also, we want to get our tickets a day early (changed our plans to hit the Pixar event at Epcot on it's last day) and don't know if online check in will make this impossible?

It won't screw up your luggage delivery. It just may annoy people behind you in line if your fast online check in takes a while.

However, I was one of those annoying people this past December. Except Disney was the ones who messed up the reservation and caused the delay, not me. I had paid for a preferred room, and done online check in at 10 days out. When I went to pick up my packet, it wasn't ready. Quickly found out that was because they had bumped me from my preferred room to a standard room. I was not a happy camper. So I don't believe that it is always the guest's fault if the online check in line moves slowly, nor do I believe the guests in that line should just take what they are given and move along.
