I'm not posting here to brag, honestly, but since so many people here are iPhone and iPad usesrs, I thought you guys could appreciate my happiness. :woohoo: I finally broke down and got one after much internal debate. I don't have an iPhone (Droid X user) so this is my first real dive into the Apple pool. I do have an iPod, but it's not the same at all!!

I received it from the wonderful FedEx guy yesterday afternoon and I'm having a terrible time getting any real work done. I've left it in the bedroom, but here I am surfing looking for all the best apps instead of working. This will not do!

So, I thought I'd ask the most knowledgable people on the planet :worship:for their suggestions. What do you like most on your iPad? I found HBO Go this morning, and was just thrilled. Now I can go back and watch Carnivale whenever I want (my favorite series of all time!). Anyway, what games, utilities, useful things, timewasters, whatever do you guys use? (Of course, I know I have to start with eTicket!)

Thanks!!!

If you have Time Warner Cable, they have an app that will allow you to watch your non-broadcast channels real time.

ABC also has an app that lets you watch past episodes of their current seasons.

Sayhello

First, let me say that Leo would be proud!:)

Pete got me addicted to Apple products, and to the Flick SKEE-BALL app.

My sister-inlaw got me addicted to Monopoly for iPad by Electronic Arts. Really, most anything by EA is good. I do admit to being an EA Fanboy from years back.

Facebook on iPad is my life!

I agree with sayhello that the Time Warner app is great, but it will not work unless you subscribe to both Digital Cable and Roadrunner broadband. The app also knows when you are not at home.

If you have a Slingbox, you can use the Slingbox app to watch any channel on your home TV from anywhere in the world.

Since you are a fan of Leo, you will want TWiTPad.

Of course, I cant leave without mentioning the very large elephant in the room.....Angry Birds!

Do you use plain old Facebook for iPad or Friendly for Facebook on iPad?

And I don't have Digital Cable, only Standard Cable, and the app still works for me. I do, however, have Roadrunner broadband.

And what is a Slingbox?

Sayhello

Well of course you have to have the eticket. DH found an app for $1.99 called WDW dining. It's a great app that show the menu AND prices for all restaurants in the parks and resorts and is supposed to be very update. Had good reviews. Another HAVE TO HAVE is Angry Birds - there are several free versions.

Well, if you want to do work Logmein is a wonderful app. It allows you to remote control any computer with Internet access. You first need to install a small free program on the computer you want to work with. I have the program on several computers at work and both computers at home. It is the single most useful app I have.

If you have a preschooler, I recommend anything made by duck duck moose. My four year old loves Word Wagon and it is one of the best educational games I have seen.

Both my kids love Drawing Pad.

I use the Kindle app daily.

I use the "My Vulkano App" for my portable TV anywhere (uses a Vulkano appliance) http://www.monsoonmultimedia.com/

Flipboard for news and a newspaper style interface for Facebook

imovie for Ipad is very cool

Evernote

Photoshop for Ipad

Iheartradio app for IPad

StreamS+ for Ipad - great streaming audio player (great with AAC-HE and LD codecs)

Skype

Atari Greatest hits

If you need Flash, the Iswifter app

Netflix

I'm so pleased that you remember me, Justin! And I just have to tell you that not only do we share a love of Leo, I have been addicted to digital Monopoly since my very first Palm Pilot way back when!

I love my iPad 2! My fav app is Words with Friends? It's an addicting Scrabble game that you can play online with Facebook friends or others that have logged on.

I'll be getting mine in June when in New York for my birthday next month.

I hope they have writing programs and apps as I write a lot of stories and fan fiction.

Very excited about getting mine

I use the "official" Facebook app. I've never tried any third-party Facebook apps.

I stand corrected on the Time Warner app. It does work with the Expanded Basic package and higher, but it does know if you are not using a Roadrunner Broadband coonection.

A slingbox connects to your television receiver and your Broadband. It allows you to watch any channel (including local broadcast channels) on your home from any computer or mobile device with internet access.

Of course, I remember you! :) While I have a hard time recognizing faces, I'm pretty good at remembering people.

You will love TWitPad and EA Monopoly for iPad.:thumbsup2

I'm also loving fruit ninja..... It's terribly addictive the iPad. I love the kindle app and epicurious.

Just got ours today!:banana: The wife and I both got one and we are super excited because I didn't think they were going to be here till Wed. Now I just need my work day to be over so I can go play.....:woohoo:

Work is seriously interfering with my ability to goof off, period!!

Justin, or anyone who can help an idiot - I'm having a hard time figuring out how to type replies in text boxes for message boards like The Dis (on the iPad). When I'm quoting other posts, the quotes take up all the space, and there doesn't seem to be a way to get the text within the box to "scroll" so that I can get to the end of it to start my own reply. I can't actually even see the end of the quoted text. Does anyone have a clue what I'm trying to say? :confused3 On the computer, there's a scroll bar, but it's not there on the iPad...

Thanks all for all of your suggestions!!

I have the iPad 2 and I am in love. :lovestruc if loving a tablet is wrong I don't want to be right. :)

Dontcha wish that you could rent books like you do at the library??

Well, you can with Overdrive. It's my new favorite app & I'm obsessed.

You can check out books for FREE!!!!! Woo hoo!!! You do need a library card from a participating library but they have LOTS of participating ones. My town of 35,000 is on that list so your city probably is too. It stays in your account for 14 days & you read it from the Overdrive app, not iBooks but it's still ok.

I'm looking forward to reading all of your suggestions too!! :thumbsup2

If you are using the message board (or any textbox) in Safari, just "point with two fingers." :) Touch the screen with 2 fingers instead of one. Move both fingers up or down the textbox to get the text to scroll.:)
