Can someone explain to me why Passholders gets big discounts on Summer Season 2011 and not on Value Season (September/October 2011)? It doesn´t make sense to me. I made a simulation for ten nights at GF from 08/01/2011 to 08/11/2011 with Deluxe Dinning plan for US$ 6000,00 and from October 05 to 15 is US$ 8000,00.

Because passholder discounts are going to be last minute, not something guaranteed that you can plan ahead for.

Thanks for the answer. Can you tell me if I book now and then Disney gives discount for passholders after that, I will have the discounts too?

Possibly depending on availability. There is no guarantee. Passholders basically get the rooms that are left over. If a room category is full or reaches a certain capacity then those rooms may not be available with an AP discount. The AP discounts will come eventually. Disney has just been slow in releasing them.

Thanks again. So I will not get the discount in my reservation. I will have to cancel my reservation and make another one with the discounts if a same type of room is available? Well If I am cancelling my reservation it is obvious that this room will be avalable again, so can I cancel and reserve the same room with the passholder discount on the same phone call?

You will have to keep checking for AP discounts, Disney will not inform you when they come out. If and when they do come up, all all you have to do is contact Disney reservation, and they will apply the discount to your package. Don't forget the bounceback specials. Since you are an AP holder, I would assume that you go more than once during the year. We did a bounce back for September, and received a 42% discount for deluxe resorts. Good Luck.:thumbsup2

Thanks Kona, it is great to know they can apply the discount to my resort reservation. I was afraid because I also have a reservation at DCL and they told me they can´t do it. If a discount became available there, I would have to cancel and reserve again. I just bought the Annual Pass Vouchers and I am planning a first Disney trip for my DD2 and DD4 next year. They will be 4 and 6 then. We (me and DW) are trying to make very special for them with a GF and DCL reservations. We are planning a week at Atlantis too and 2 weeks offsitefor Universal, Sea World, etc. A whole Florida month (and Bahamas too). Lots of planning untill we fly! This place have give me a lot of great advices and I thank you all! I hope I can give it back someday!

Passholder discounts are given based on the level of bookings. Disney wants to book all rooms at full rack rate. If the rooms are not being booked you will see discounts.

There is no way to know for sure when they will be offered or how many rooms included.

Just to be sure you understand fully - if there is availability for your resort and room type, you can have the discount applied to your reservation. If there is no availability, then they can't. Sometimes, there will be availability in other room types, and you might have to change from a theme park view to a garden view or vice versa. I remember a few years ago, a lot of people booked WL in December, planning to have discounts applied later. So many people booked, that no discounts were offered at WL, so people either had to pay rack rate, or change resorts to get a discount. I just don't want you to be disappointed if you book in advance and you can't get a discount without making some changes.

Yes, you can have your AP rate applied to your reservation. As mentioned sometimes the category you booked may not be available. Example- We had booked a standard view at WL on year, with a General Public discount, when AP
came out, there were no Standard View rooms avail. so we booked a Woods view, and still saved some $.
