Some Editing Help Please

Hi all,

I was messing with my wife's T2i and the 18-135 canon lens. My 7D's battery was dead and I never play with her camera so this was my chance. These were taken in out front room which at a 12' long window. Lots of daylight coming in and I used the flash to fill. They were shot at 85mm in P mode.

Anyway, I am thinking her cheeks are a bit too red? I also would like to soften her skin a bit. I'm using lightroom2 and the nik software suite for editing. any other opinions are totally welcome. I don't mind anything if it helps me in the future with shooting. feel free to tear these apart! LOL

thanks,

here ya go,

EDIT: I moved these over to the canon thread. forgot it was there. thought it was more appropriate place.

Thanks!

I played with it and got this. I only copied and saved the image of this page so the file was only like 271kb

I really liked her eyes, they seemed as big as saucers!

At first glance it looks like the white balance is off. You need less blue. It would make the cheeks look less pink and make her skin tone look better overall.

This is one of my biggest problems. I always freeze up with white bal correction. I feel like I want to change it each time I look at the pic when I come back to the computer.

Any pointers?

Actually it was LR3, PS5 is too difficult for me to use on basic stuff, I just use it for HDR or stitching...

Converted to B&W, used the wand to add colour in the eyes, adjusted the contrast and brightness levels, cropped the sides a bit. Voila, done! I think I did a few other tweaks but that was yesterday and I can't remember!
