Hey ladies! I have seen a lot of activity going on about the memories collections, not to mention I have been asking a ton of questions. So I thought it would be nice to have a place where we can all talk!

A little info! My name is Lauren, were from TX. My DF and I just graduated from Texas Tech University last month, and were just getting started on our wedding. Were planning for it to just be us(both families are WAY to big...like DF's mom is 1 of 13 kids)
Were planning for October, 22,2011!

I'm Stefanie & I am marrying Vince on 10-29-11.. He's 33 & I'm 27. We both live in Southern California. While we're both Disney fans, we can't afford a Disney park wedding & have our families there (which we figured is more important for us)..

So we're sneaking some Disney themes into our wedding. For example, the grandma, moms & bridesmaids/matrons are walking into a Disney duet of One Song & the Wishing Well song from Snow White..

I'm new to the boards, so I have to ask, what is the meaning of DF? Thanks!!

Hey everybody!

I'm Liz and I'm marrying Lorne on August 5/6,2011 (we have tied down the exact day yet :) ). We never thought a Disney wedding would be an option for us. But, with the Memories Collection we found a package that is perfect for us.

We are hoping to have our wedding on Luau Beach at either 9am or 11am (before it gets too hot!). I'm starting to get a little overwhelmed with the date creeping up on us. I'm planning away and getting all the details together.

I can't wait to meet more Memories Brides!:thumbsup2

Thanks for starting this!!!

Hi Memories Brides! My DF and I just booked our memories wedding for Feb 28th 2011 at Luau Beach. We are SOO excited to have a stress free Fairy Tale Wedding. As soon as I get the some more information I will post! Good Luck to all of you!!:goodvibes

we r also planning the 2 of us (& possibly 2 teens) I think that is the memories pkg. We have not picked a date for 2011 but likely in late October on the polynesian beach. I have no family & he has a large family which wouuld make a traditional wedding awkward & sad plus I have never been anywhere in my life so this would b a dream!

I'm so excited about the date comming up soon! I'm not going to lie...im worried about not being able to book the date that we have planned for...anyone else like that?

It's great to see so many Memories brides! I wanted to wish you all good luck with your planning - I can't wait to hear about your plans:goodvibes.

Littlestinkerbelle, do you have any pictures of your VR that you could share??? I am very excited to see other Memories Collection weddings/VR's

Unfortunately I don't have the CD of our images:sad1:. When we got our photos back we liked them so much that we asked about buying the hi-res CD but were told that it's not offered with the Memories Collection "at this time." And since it was just the two of us no guest photos either. Bummer:headache:.

Looks like we will be changing our wedding to October 1,2010! We had orginally decided with the 22nd but due to work time off, we had to switch. I HOPE and PRAY that we can get that date!!

Marriage Licenses...ok anyone know much about these??

I asked the Disney wedding line and the man said we have two choices, we can get them done and signed before we leave/after we come back. Or, we can drive to central Fl and get it down there.

They said that they dont even have to see the marriage license at all and that becasue there a private company that they dont do anything with them. In some ways I feel like this not even going to be a "real wedding" just the cerenomy. I was suprised to find out that they dont do any of that considering they do thousands of weddings a year :confused3

So heres what im thinking. So we decided to do it a few days before we leave, it kinda sucks that our anniversery is not offically on the day that we had our cerenomy..its a few days before. We also are not planning to rent a car becasue of the extra expense it is, when we can just use Disney transportation.

Did I just not understand properly?

OK, first of all, NEVER listen to the people who first answer that Disney line. :rotfl: Well, OK, sometimes, but at least 50% of the time they have no idea what they're talking about.

You do not have to get married before you leave, and you do not have to drive to a courthouse to get a license once you're in Orlando.

You can apply for a license by mail from Brevard County in Florida.

http://199.241.8.125/index.cfm?FuseAction=MarriageLicenses.Forms

You fill it out, sign it in front of a notary and mail it in to Brevard County no more than 60 days before the wedding. They will then send you the "active" license that you and the officiant will sign on the day of your ceremony. Then the officiant will mail it in for you, and a few weeks later your proof of the marriage will be mailed to your house.

The only cost is the same $93.50 for the license that you would pay if you went in to the courthouse—there is no additional fee.

Lurkyloo THANK YOU! I knew there had to be another way around this ordeal..yep, they were wrong haha.

anoter memory bride here ! We will be booking on Monday with vita for a July 30th luau cove wedding !:banana:
We also looked at the other packages and were discouraged with the pricing, I came upon the memory collection completely by accident when checking out the wedding/voting blogs, and it seemed like the perfect solution !
I am super excited, simple ,easy, toes in the sand at the happiest place on earth !princess::wizard:

I am hoping to do a Memories VR in Oct. I was told I can call in April to make the reservation and yes, I am a tad worried about getting the date. My actual 35th anniversary falls on a Sunday (Oct 23rd). I do go back and forth with possibly doing it on the Saturday so we would be able to relax on our anniversary. I guess I will see what is available and what they recommend.

We did go to Disney for our honeymoon 35 years ago!!!!
Congrats to all the future brides and enjoy your planning.

Hi! I found this thread when I was looking for info about Memories weddings. I'm looking at this option but I'm wondering about cakes. I know the Escape weddings come with a two-tiered cake, but can a cake be added to the Memories package? If so, does anyone know how much it would be? Thanks!!

Hi there! You can't add a cake to the package per se, but you can order one to be delivered to a restaurant if you're doing a meal after. We ordered this mini wedding cake for our tea at the GF following our Memories vow renewal. It was just enough for two people but you could definitely order something bigger. There's a great cake thread over on the restaurant board that has lots of photos and info on ordering. Good luck:goodvibes.
