DHS: Jedi training and Toy Story Mania

What is a good strategy for getting my younger ds a spot in the Jedi training and getting a fastpass for Toy Story mania? Older ds is not interested in Jedi, but the whole family wants to do TSM.

I have not done the Jedi training but the Toy Story Mania is the best. I would make that my first stop. When you walk in the gate go directly there and get a fastpass. We got to the park a little late, around 10 and I ran right to get my fastpass and our time was 7:00 at night.

Have a FP runner go to TSM (with everyones MYW card) and get the FP's.

While he (or she) is getting the TSM FP, everyone else head over to Jedi Training, and get in line to be screened to be a Jedi.

Have the FP runner meet you at Star Tours.

My plan is to send my dh to toy story to get a FP while I take the kids over to Jedi Training since they need to be present. We have never done jedi training before so not sure if this will work out but seems like a good choice to me!

You beat me to it!! I guess I had a good plan...thanks

We've done this before, and it worked like a charm.

Reminder: When doing Jedi Training, don't forget to stop by the photo shop on the way out of DHS and add all the Jedi Training pics to your photopass card.

Works great! This is how my family does DHS days. Dh takes older ds to sign up and is usually finished with that before I get out of the TSM FP lines with younger ds. Have fun!

Here is what rope drop looks like for a 9am opening on a 'light' day. We got there about 8:45. Brisk walk to TSM will get you 30 minutes in the stand-by line which isn't bad. If you get in the FP line right away, you can expect to get FPs for about 11:30 and the FP line moves pretty fast. The Jedi training to me didn't really look that crowded but maybe I was missing something.

We'll be taking our first WDW in May and my 9 and 5 year old have both TSM and Jedi Training on their list of "must do". My plan is to have DH take all the KTTW cards and run to get TSM FPs while my mom and I take the 3 kids to line up for Jedi Training.

We did the split as others suggested.

DH was 3rd in line for FPs :cool1:

We had to wait about 30-40 minutes to get our appointment for Jedi. We got into the 11:30 show. He was done and had secured his 2nd set of FPS for TSM by the time we met up with him.

Out of curiosity, what day was this?

By the time we get there the New Star Tours will be open... I am wondering how that will effect JTA and TSM?

My plan was to: 1 - have hubby get the FP for TSM while I walk over to JT and sign up the boy 2- while waiting for JTA get in the stand by line for ST 3- Ride ST 4- have the runner get another FP for TSM 5- do JTA then go and ride on TSM whenever after that

Ha this was our deal today. We kinda went in knowing we didn't want to spend all day at HWS, but wanted to do certain things. We didn't follow a plan so as we were in a character signing line we realized that we needed to get a FP for Toy Story! So Dh ran off for that around 945 and got a 1:40 time slot. We didn't know anything about Jedi training until we found it... around 11am... well it was over then. We signed up for it after we watched it and got a 6:40 time slot. So if we were to do it again, we would have gotten a FP first thing after walking through the gate to Toy Story Mania, took the boys to Jedi Training next, then hit up the Disney Junior times.

I was wondering this same thing, until I showed my DS11 the youtube video of the jedi thing and he wanted nothing to do with it. That crowd looks intense, although last friday was a "light" day?

Thanks! I will send dh and my older dh to get the FP and I will take younger ds to jedi. Jedi Training gives you a time to come back kind of like a fastpass right?

Yes. Like a fast pass. So you could do both toy story and jedi and likely both will have you coming back.

This is my plan to a T, since the Jedi thing is THE most looked forward to event on our entire trip. DS10 is a fanatic. :)

Thanks-I feel a little better now lol. My ds5 will be really disappointed if he can't do Jedi. Ds7 doesn't care at all about it, but the whole family really wants to to TSM.

Kinda like a FP - except you don't get to choose the show you are in, it is assigned to you. And you have to be at the stage 30minutes early for your show.

The show is about 20minutes? Right?
