Hi all. This is my 10th post, yay me!!! :yay: (sorry for the digression)...So we all love getting out of Fantasmic, right? Can anyone share experience with getting a cab? Is there a line to get taxi's? Are they lined up waiting. Can you call one to come rescue you?

Last time, I went from DHS to Epcot to get back to my resort because the bus lines were just sooooo long. Any tips or advice? I will be traveling with a 1-year-old and don't know how long he can last. Thanks all!

Best,
Rachel

BLT...usually I would take the resort bus back or the TTC bus and ride around the monorail - whichever happened to arrive 1st :-)

Thanks!
Rachel

We were at Fantasmic last Thursday and we stayed at BLT. We sat in the upper right hand back of the stadium (looking at stage) and bolted for the buses right before the fireworks at the end. We figured one benefit of being able to watch Wishes from the top of BLT every night was that we could skip the fireworks at Fantasmic to be first on the bus and it worked. We got right on and were home pretty quick.

This is our 1st time at BLT. We just became DVC members this year (yay!) I only have 1 night open right now, but if the boy cooperates :goodvibes we are going to try the lounge at the top. I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks!

Best,
Rachel

Hee hee. Saw title and thought you meant "How to talk my family out of going to Fantasmic" i/o "How to get out of DHS quickly after Fantasmic!"

So nevermind on the advice I was about to give. ;)

Have a wonderful trip!

At DHS, while I waited for my resort bus back, I have seen taxis in a line waiting, along with spare buses, just the other side of the handicap parking lot. Don't get the idea to walk there. There's no sidewalk, and a ton of cars and buses in motion. Someone should call a taxi forward for you if there isn't already one at the gates. I don't know who handles bringing a taxi forward. I would ask someone at the gates or guest services when you enter the park, then you will know exactly what to do at exit. But there are certainly taxis waiting there... :)

You know, I personally do not understand the whole "let's leave early and beat the rush" mentality. I'm not flaming those who do - I just don't understand it. :confused3

If I pay $75 for a ticket to see a ballgame, you can bet that I'm staying to the bitter end.

If I pay $5k for a week at WDW, you can bet that I'm going to soak it all up. So I have to wait a bus or three? Big deal. I let the horde stream out. My family and I make our way leisurely to the front of the park. We'll stop and get a piece of candy, or browse a shop or two, maybe do some pin trading. It's not like there's a deadline to get back to the resort.

I couldn't agree more!! Why rush? We were 5 rows from the front for F!last week and still were out with 15 minutes or so. We had endzone row 1 tickets for the Steelers AFC championship game and you think getting out of F! was bad ? LOL Try 67K half drunk Steelers fans in -20 degree weather all milling around yelling... After that experience nothing else seems so bad :lmao:

It's all good though as some want to leave quickly and I'm fine with that as they are the ones who paid for tickets as well.

What the best way back to Old Key West from Fantasmic? Is it worth the taxi fare or a walk over to Epcot? There is only one show that night at 9pm. Thanks for your help.
