I bought a groupon

for house cleaning to have done before our big Realtor luncheon tomorrow. I know on Groupon it says to tip on the full amount, but I would normally never tip for house cleaning unless they were my regulars and only at Christmas. Does this refer to things like salon services and the like or everything you buy on there? Anybody know?

I've seen it apply to places like restaurants where they want you to tip based on the full amount the bill would be before using the groupon. I think it's up to you, but I wouldn't feel obligated. I might if they did a great job, but I think they were referring to services you would normally tip for, like salon or restaurant.

I never tip on housecleaning unless it is at Christmas, etc. I guess if someone did a really spectacular job, I might consider it, but lately, I haven't been very happy with any of the cleaning people I've used. Hope everything works out well for you :)

Thanks....not worth the $$ spent on Groupon, so no tip for sure. Going to go up and dust my furniture and redo the hardwood (a completely streaky mess)and kitchen which she did not get to...Oh well.

that sucks! you had to clean in back of them? i am glad you did not tip. was it a well known company?

Also - i think that "tip statement' is on almost all of the groupons too - kind of like their standard verbiage.

If I remember the Groupon website correctly, you can actually rate the quality of the service you received using the groupon. You might want to check that out. You could have the ability to warn other folks not to waste the money for this one....

I always tip my housekeeper at least 10-15% per week. But I guess that is just me and she does a good job. :confused3

I mean unless the housekeeper is a sole proprietor and it is their business then I wouldn't because they are making all of the profits.

They are coming back out today to buff my hardwood floors. I don't know what she put on them, but it won't come off. I will say the after service was much better than the actual service. I had to reclean the showers and tubs, one of the toilets, put the decorative towels back on racks, and put my tiebacks back up, along with dusting and hours spent on my floor trying to get the film off. They will redeem themselves if they can get the floors back to the way they were.

I can honestly say I've given the house cleaners advertising on Groupon a Fair shot. However, I would have none of them back! Seriously bad cleaning services! I also didn't like seeing them reuse the same rag on a bunch of stuff. Yuck! Streaky floors, things not cleaned that are part of the deal (ex. Like wiping down a coffee table or dresser) Not to mention how much time they spent "cleaning" was a joke.

They came back and buffed the floors. Much better. So I am done with them. I think they would do a good job if they came back, but I am not going to pay full price on the chance that they might or might not do a good job. I'm done
