Clairol Nice’n Easy Color Blend Foam ???

Its time to dye my hair again (greys). Has anyone tried
-Clairol Nice’n Easy Color Blend Foam
or the mousse dye????


If so is it ..........
-easy to use ( my hair is thick and past my shoulders but above where my bra buckles

-does it cover stubborn greys

-any advice or tips?


I used to get my hair dyed for $95 ouch! Then I turned to home dying. My dh has to help me and he gets annoyed so do I-lol!

Would love good or bad feedback on it. Thanks


ps I wanted to dye my hair cuz of my grey roots . I have a few here and there so should i justdo root touch up....

I've not used it yet....but I did get a free coupon for it. I currently use Garnier Nutrisse and it works well, but my hair grows out so quickly that I really need to start getting some highlights so the grays blend in longer LOL

used the dark blond and it turned out very nice. a week later and it looks even better- simple to use. you don't need anyone to help you- it is a mousse so it goes on simple. Only left on for the 25 minutes and it was perfect- covered my gray very well

I just used the foam about two weeks ago. I put the foam on my gray roots first and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then did the rest of my hair for the recommended time. It took care of those hard to color grays just fine.

Well...I just used it yesterday. I liked it ok. I used the Ash Brown. I have stubborn greys, very curly hair. It does stain!. You can scrub off most of it. My hairline isn't very noticeable, but if you had a noticeable hairline, you could see a stain until your next wash. I scrubbed my hairline with a baby wipe and that was after I took a shower and washed the color from my hair and used the conditioner. It was easy to apply. I think, though, it is more for all over color. I think that with the foam it gets all over you hair and hard to just focus on the roots only, at least mine, so you may as well go for all over color. I like the clairol products because they don't give my hair a reddish cast like L'oreal. I've used the Garnier and they were fine as well. I think I will go back to Clairol/Nice 'N Easy Grey Solution.

I agree that it does stain the skin more than non-foam products. You can put a thin layer of Vaseline around your hairline to keep it from staining the skin. I haven't done that but my mom routinely does.

I noticed that the foam coloring made my hair a lot darker than I thought it would. My last color was done in a salon. It was a med/light brown with light brown highlights. My hair is usually medium brown, but my stylist wanted to lighten it up. Since I can't afford $130 every 6 weeks for professional coloring, I went back to coloring it myself. The foam color I used was med. golden brown. I figured it would make my hair a little darker, but it came out more like dark brown - darker than I thought med. golden brown should have made it. I didn't get any gold highlights like I usually do with that color in other brands. I ended up buying a medium chestnut brown in another brand and coloring again. It came out much lighter this time. If I buy the foam again, I will definitely get a lighter color.

*The foam does stain. I wish I knew that before I dyed my hair. It came out in the next wash, but I still had to walk around with a unnaturally dark hair part for a day.

*It is messy. I prefer the kind with built in brush.

*It takes forever! I've grown accustomed to the 10 minute formulas. Anything beyond that feels like eternity!

I have been using nice and easy for a few years but decided to try the foam product. I didn't like it at all I will stick with the regular nice and easy going forward.

What are everyone's favorites? My time is coming, I think I inherited my dad's early gray, but I don't have to do anything- yet.

I have light to medium brown hair, would like a little lighter. I tried highlights at home once, they turned reddish, which was okay, but not what I was going for. I showed my strawberry blond DH and his instant reaction was "We could be sisters!" (We got that phrase from Barbie Princess & Pauper and use it on our girls)

So, what's easy to use by yourself and gives the intended results?

I was going to give it a try before I read the reviews online. They are not very positive. Here are the complaints:

Hard to squeeze out - not a pump
Too dark
Stains badly
Splashes all over the place

I think I will pass.

Tried it a few weeks ago - never again. My grays were showing again less than two weeks later.

Keep in mind that I do have jet black hair (and am gray at the temples), so the gray hair is very noticable - might be different if your hair is lighter to begin with.

I'll stick to Hydrience (also by Clairol) - a little messy, but completely covers those nasty grays.
