Am not going till next year but I need to start planning and saving>will be doing 21 nights with me and two dc dd age 9 and ds age 7 who is wheelchair user in September.Though due to him and his chair being so small we dont need accesiable room .Just either ground floor or a lift

Have been boping around and looking so far are considering 7 nights down by seaworld and then 14 nights at Disney .or have wondered about doing the whole lot on idrive

I dont drive so a villa is out , looked at condos but seems same problem plus often on 2 floors which is no good for ds.Dont mind having to get the bus or itrolley we do it a lot at home

So any advice or tips please .

My advice for a non driver would be to stay at Disney so that you can take advantage of their transportation to and from the airport and in and around Disney. It would be the most convenient for you.

have considered that but the prices to stay on site seem :scared1: on top of the flights costs .Flights from the uk including taxes are £1800 and thats for 1a and 2dc

If you wanted to stay by SeaWorld for 7 nights I would stay at either the Renaissance Hotel at SeaWorld (across the street from SeaWorld) or the Hilton Orlando (on Destination Parkway). If you stay at the Renaissance you could walk to SeaWorld. In order to get there you only have to walk out the front entrance of the hotel, cross the street, and walk through the parking lot and you are there. It only take 5-10 minutes. The Hilton Orlando is a new hotel, with great amenities, and local attraction transportation. When you are planning on going to Disney, I would definately stay on-site.

Thank you
not till September 2012 but have my flights booked flying out on the 10th Of september .And would like to get accomidation tied down asap so I know just how much more I need to budget for.We ar eplanning on doing Disney of course also Seaworld

.Maybe bush gardens and gator land need to work out if these are feasable by public transport or if book a cheap hotel later on and just do a cheap one nighter while keeping our main accomidation

If I were you, I'd do one of two things since you are not able to drive but need RELIABLE transportation especially with a child in a wheelchair:

1) Stay at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek as there are many on this website that use them and say they have a good shuttle service to the Disney parks. They are on Disney property but don't charge Disney prices. Many go through vacationupgrades.com to secure their reservations. The person who runs that website has a good reputation. I'd just stay here and use a taxi to go to Sea World or wherever else you want to go that is non-Disney.

2) Stay at another condo community or hotel complex close to Disney and use taxis for your transportation. Shuttle services from most hotels, etc. are notoriously unreliable. Windsor Hills is popular as it is very close to the Disney gates. You could also check out the Mousesavers.com website for recommended non-Disney accommodations that are reasonably priced and close to the Disney property - some may have decently reliable shuttle services to the Disney parks especially the Downtown Disney resorts.

I would not want to be reliant on the I-drive shuttle.

You can stay at the Disney Allstar Resorts or Pop Century for a fairly reasonable rate. Watch for % off deals as it gets closer to you time or Sept is usually the time that Disney has free dining included with your stay.
If you're going to hire taxis to get around then you might as well stay at Disney. They are very good at transporting people with or without wheelchairs.
You can't see online how much it would be for Sept/12 but you could put in the dates for 2011 just to get an idea. I think if you book through Disney and they come out with a better deal before you go you can update your reservation to reflect that deal. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I second WBC. DD and her family stayed at ASMo last trip and it is a bare-bones room. They bought an electric tea kettle to heat water in their room for tea. The room has nothing and having someone in a wheelchair it's going to be very tight. We're at WH this trip, but will stay at WBC the next time because of the buses to the parks. Check out this:

Remember, too, when you are pricing, Disney gives you a total price which includes taxes. Some of the other sights don't add that in right away and you find out at the end. You have to make certain that you (or their price) include(s) taxes and any resort charges when you are looking at things, so you don't have any unpleasant surprises! :scared1:
