Hello. We're hoping to find a nice condo close to Disney where we can view fireworks. Any advice on places to stay?

We stayed at this Windsor Hills condo in a few years ago and are staying there this summer as well. :yay: The condo's website says that you can see fireworks from their balcony. When we stayed we were only there 4 nights and were busy and forgot to check it out so not sure how they look. Might be worth emailing the owner. Her name is Jennifer and was great to work with. The condo is also just a couple minute walk to the pool. It's a 3br/2bath condo decorated in a Disney theme: www.mickeyscondo.com

Thank you so much. Did you guys love the condo? We've only stayed at the Sheratons Vistana Resorts and Villages and Hilton on I-Drive. Just wanted to compare Windsor Hills...is it similar? All DS wants to do is be at the park all day and then come back and swim in a nice pool. DH and I just wanted to have a beautiful and clean place to relax after a day of chasing DS in the parks and have a nice homemade meal.

I have never stayed at the Hilton on I-drive so I can't compare. I have 3 kids and really prefer to have the extra rooms that a condo/townhome/house would have over being in a 1 room hotel room. The condo had a full kitchen which we only utilized for breakfasts but it was a great convenience for us. It was also very clean and looked exactly like the pictures they show on their website.

My sister stayed at the Vistana and liked it so I had looked into that on my last trip but I only saw 2 bedroom villas and I really wanted 3 bedrooms because we had a couple other family members traveling with us. Besides the 3br or 2br condos, Windsor Hills has 3br/3ba townhomes with splash pools and also 4br, 5br and 6br pool homes. For the condos, there is a main pool with a water slide that anyone at the resort can use. We really liked Windsor Hill when we went a few years ago so when we were making plans to go back this year we really wanted to stay there again. Hope this helps...

Hi, we stay 3 months very close to WHills.
To be honest anyone in a condo that might have a partial view of the fireworks will be pretty underwhelmed as the fireworks will be 3 miles away and will look more like somebody lighting a match in the parking lot than a fireworks show. We barely hear an occassional boom from the loudest of the Epcot fireworks if the wind is blowing right. I sure would not make a fireworks view a deal breaker if you find a really nice place you like...Just my humble opinion!

Have a great trip...Ted

I bought a condo in Celebration last year, and can see Illuminations from my kids room..(albeit,across 192)...but we can see them....its pretty cool..my daughter asked for a telescope for Christmas...now we just need to bring it down for the summer...

Agree !!

Thanks everyone. Now we are just trying to decide between Sheraton Vistana or Windsor Hills. Anyone have opinions, would love to hear it. :goodvibes Iluvepoohandmickey gave me some good info. So torn between the tried and true and a new option.

We were at Mystic Dunes one year at New Years. The building is oriented so that the room balconies are facing in the wrong direction (at least in that building), but we walked up one floor and watched from the back balcony (where you normally walk). We saw fireworks from all the Disney parks, Universal, and somewhere downtown. You couldn't see the lower fireworks, but it was certainly quite a show.

You can see the fireworks from the Hilton Parc Soleil but as previous posters have mentioned they aren't that exciting and I wouldn't pay a premium to get that view.

We stayed in a north facing wh condo and we looked several nights but could only see them once or twice and VERY vaguely.
Also, be aware that the north facing condos get no afternoon sun - which made a big difference to us in January. We would have preferred a condo facing more sunshine and forego and fireworks view because it was disappointing.

Do you happen to remember what your building number was? We will be staying there in January. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't, but if you tell them where you want to be, they will try to meet your request. Just tell them you want to be on the top of the hill on the north side of the resort.
