Now this is a very short installment, but wanted to see if the picture thing straightened out. I've gone back to photobucket a million times & rechecked the size the pics were uploading & it's set correctly....so not sure what the dealio is......so this is strictly a test. (and the intro to the breakfast)....lol

Well you got me.....have no clue why the pics are different sizes (smaller) than what I started the last installment with.......I give up!!

They look normal. Maybe they changed because I was posting my reply about the PPH room here at the same time - sometimes crazy things like that happen, where the photos will shrink when someone else is posting on the same thread, and then they bounce back to normal.

I :lovestruc all the pictures of PP. We (me, my mom, and my aunt) will be staying there for 2 nights during the 1/2 Marathon weekend! I've never stayed on-site and I hope we get a park view room!

I can't wait for thre rest of your breakfast pictures because we are also doing this meal on Monday before we head home!

Perfect timing as I was just going to search the boards for pictures and review of both! :thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure it's a photobucket thing.....when I went in to edit the size when I noticed the problem......it had the size listed smaller than what I uploaded the size to be. I keep checking the size options & I have the right one clicked & saved......so think it's on their end.......photobucket is sometimes just a nightmare to use!!!

You'll love staying there.......the rooms are large & bright, cheery!!! Love all the Disney touches.....I think this motel gets a bad rap.....but it's now my FAVORITE!!!

I'll get back to the breakfast.....spoiler alert.....it was FABULOUS!!!! :woohoo:

I don't know if you saw my post about the PPH (and the differences between the rufurbished room vs. the older rooms) on the previous page, but what floor were you guys on? I can tell you were on my exact same side of the building, and that you followed the same path to the elevator, but I think you were on a lower floor.

Yep, Photobucket is a nightmare at times. When I was loading all of my photos from the December trip, I was even thinking to myself, "How did Laurie manage to deal with Photobucket through 4000+ photos last year?" That is a feat!

Okay, I can tell from your view from the PPH room, as well as the photos you took by the windows along the hallway to the elevator, that you were on the same exact side of the PPH that I was on. You look to have been on a much lower floor. I was on the 12th floor. (I also got into my room at check-in - in time to watch the sunrise! - so there is good luck to be had at check-in with those rooms on that specific side of the PPH!:rotfl2:)

I can tell you what the differences in your room vs. my room are (since I did not have one of the refurbished ones): The beds! Your room has the new comforters and bedding - probably new mattresses, too. Also, the daybed/pull-pull out bed is different. It's a dark color - not llike the faded color of the pull-out in my room.

The other thing that is different is the wooden surfboard over in the corner, by the window and the daybed. My room did not have that. That's a cool touch!

I see they are kind of getting rid of the pastel color scheme that was present in the older rooms and making them look more modern.

Oh, and no one here on this board is going to wonder why you are taking photos of the room, the carpet, the hotel, the hallways, etc. - we all do that!:rotfl2:

In fact, we would probably wonder if you did not take photos of all that stuff - 'cause that's just what we DIS-folks do!! In fact, even when I didn't feel like snapping photos of the hotel room itself or the hallways, lights, etc., I made myself do it because I know it's almost...'expected'!!

I always love that flower bed by the Paradise Pier sign. I think the colors in the flowers seem to complement the PPH sign very well.

We were on the 9th floor......I thought that was perfect.....high enough to look into the park but not so high that you can't see what's going on.

They mentioned the linens were new & the carpeting. It smelled new, but not a obnoxious odor by any means. The room was so sunny/happy......Mike loves the beach motif & the light colored wood is my favorite. Not a fan of the dark woods for rooms....too depressing. Even with how bright it was during the day, when you pull the curtains shut, the room is nice & dark.....so over sleeping was always a concern in the mornings.....lol

My TR has a review & pics of surfs up if you care to wander my way.

Sherry I think she said earlier that they were on the 9th floor

Laurie thanks for the photos! Not on our trip in October but our spring trip after we have APs we plan to stay at the PPH so thanks for the first pics I have seen of the new rooms...Love them!

Hope your breakfast was as much fun as ours was at Mickey's!

Mike & I went in for the breakfast & were greeted by Mickey!!

We were shown to our table & then it was time to hit the buffet. We did this meal last summer & I enjoyed it because of the different options. It's a smaller buffet, but absolutely no reason to leave hungry! Mike took pics of the food, so I can't name what everything is. I probably could go back to my mega-mega TR from the summer trip to get that info if there's something you really, really need to know!

Love Surf's Up!!!

So, So, annoying!!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:That preacher comment is the best way to phrase the whole Photobucket experience!:rotfl::rotfl: I truly, truly have no clue how you managed 4000+ photos for your mega-TR last year on that stupid Photobucket - and didn't lose your mind in the process, or hurl the computer out the window!:rotfl2: I mean, I ready to commit myself to an institution after loading, let's say, 30 photos!!:rotfl2:

In a way, I will kind of miss the pastel/palm tree-adorned comforters on the regular PPH room beds when they are ultimately changed over, but at the same time I like the look of the beds in your room, and I love that wooden surfboard in the corner.

I'm heading back to PPH in December, so I will be curious to see what kind of room they stick me in.

Sherry I think she said earlier that they were on the 9th floor

Sherri - Yes, she did say it - and I realized later why I didn't see the '9th floor' the first time. When my PC was having trouble loading the pages, they were skipping and either zooming quickly to the end, and I'd have to scroll back up, or they would not scroll down and kept zooming back up. In the process of trying to get the pages to level off and stop jumping around, I missed the '9.'

Also, Laurie answered me above and said it was the 9th floor.:goodvibes

Photobucket really is becoming a pain......some days I can breeze right thru my uploads but since I've started the trip report.....it uploads all but 1 or 2 of the photos & then freezes the whole computer up.......so annoying & I've been known to blurt out some obscenities myself!!:headache:

Last summer was strictly persistance.....refused to let photobucket win!!!

Ah shucks!

As always love the latest installment and that is great that PPH gave you the buttons and signed photo. They are really great about that. I can tell you we stayed here for mom's birthday on the ladies trip last year and they went above and beyond. Gave her ballons, a button made a cute little cake out of washclothes and gave us some mickey rice krispie treats as well as a coupon for a free photo through photo pass. We also got chocolates every single night.

We then stayed at Grand Cal the following June and I told them it was MY birthday and I practically had to beg just to get the pin and all I got was the pic of Minnie. Nothing else and we only got the chocolates on our first night. The room was MUCH smaller and they put us at the VERY end of like 3 LOOOOONG hallways! I have stayed at all 3 now and I have to say we prefer PPH the best! I like the restaurants and pool at DL the best but I look the actual hotel at PP much better.

We had planned to do dinner at PCH Grill again this summer but now that we are not going I don't know when we will make it back but I def want to go and the kids want to do the kitchen sink!! :)

Mom and I are going to try and stay there in Oct if we go and IF the prices are right!

Heck we may even stay there for the ladies trip again if the prices are decent. If that is still considered off season they might be who knows!

Also I wanted to say that we did the BBQ also last june and loved it and I had planned to take dh there this past Dec but it got rained out and then we were going to go on our summer trip THIS year but now we had to cancel so EVENTUALLY I will get back there lol. Don't know if we will go in Oct or not but if enough of us go maybe there will be interest in everyone who goes wanting to do a group meal! :)

I know when a bunch of us went in oct of 09 that is kind of what we did. We arranged to meet for 2 or 3 meals and then everyone kind of did their own thing the rest of the trip. It was nice because we got to see everyone and visit during a few meals and then people that were there with family still got to spend family time too and didn't feel like they were ignoring their family. It was nice!

Anyway as always anxious to see your next installment and have a nice time tonight!

Catching up againg

Sorry about your panic attack. I am glad you were able to enjoy the rest of the day

Really enjoying all your pics, especially the ones in Mr. Lincoln Displays

I am getting really excited to plan a trip to Disneyland

Looks so awesome there

Both of your hotels look great

:goodvibes

Don't you just love the new white bedspreads? Those are the same as at the DLH and I thought the Mickey heads on them were so adorable. I would love to have one even though I have always sworn I would not have a white bedspread.

This is why I told you that it was just as nice to stay offsite. The places offsite are nice and cheaper.

I wish they had auctioned the old linens from here and the DLH online for charity or something. I would have loved to have one of the old attractions bedspreads from DLH.
