Amazon and Walmart. Amazon and Walmart let use gift cards buy music. I am enough reward programs that I have not pay cash for music and years

You do own the music you buy on iTunes. $1.29 - songs are DRM-free. You are right though - there are some limitations on *some* things on iTunes, but none that have ever impacted me from doing anything or copying them anywhere or using them on multiple devices.

I get mine at Walmart. They do come with a license, but it is pretty liberal...unlimited devices you can copy, burn to, etc. You can also go to your download acct online if you computer crashes to get them again. Prices start at 94cents

Here are their transfer rules:

If you already own CDs you can rip them to your computer (I only mention this because a friend on facebook was recently lamenting that she only had 6 songs on her ipod and couldn't imagine how everyone else had thousands because it was just too expensive to keep downloading them....and I found out she did NOT know that she could rip her cds that she already owns and put that music on her ipod).

I second that.

Thanks everyone!

amazon is the cheapest.
Most times they offer albums (popular ones at that) for $5 and the new releases are always under $10. Most songs are .99 or less as well. Way cheaper than Itunes. Did Walmart for awhile but didn't like the selection. Amazon also offers a free song everyday. Sometimes it can be a real find but most of the time its obscure. During Christmas a few months ago they were giving the whole album away for the most popular releases for under $4.

We are big Disney fans (go figure) and we got tangled when it came out for $2.99
