Trader Joe's Opening near me tomorrow!

I love Trader Joe's and go to ours a few towns over once every other month to stock up. I love their....

Frozen fruits and veggies
Frozen Orange Chicken
JoJos- which are like oreos but even better
Frozen brown and Jasmine rice
Frozen fettuchine alfredo
Frozen chicken tenders
Roasted garlic marinara
cheeses
Sweet apple chicken sausage

There are a ton more but I can't think of them right now. Though the great thing about Trader Joe's is if you do not like their product they will refund your money, no questions asked. We have done this twice. Once with some chicken stock that tasted funky and the other time with their garlic fries that were not good at all.

I have only been to TJ's once in North Jersey. What do you love at TJ's?

Hey Christine! We must be from the same area - there's one opening near me as well:thumbsup2
I can't tell you how excited I am!!! The only other one I went
to was the one in North Jersey as well - on Rt. 17. We were on our way to a
college visit so we didn't have as much time as I would have liked to check the store out.
You can go to their website and look at the flyer - they have some really neat things I'm
dying to try - I cannot wait for tomorrow! I want to get there early!!!

Hey where is it opening? We have been driving to one in Westfield. I am guessing it won't be near us or I would have heard about it but you never know.
Oh and what do we like?
Everything. I have never been disappointed. The wine is cheap and good.
The every trip buys used to be(have not been going lately $$ issues)

Frozen garlic cubes
Chicken fried rice
Pizza dough
Chocolate Chip granola bars
Wasabi Peas
The frozen roasted potatoes
Frozen Fire roasted peppers and onions

I didn't care for the Jo Jo's but they tasted like Hydrox cookies to me (remember those?)

The new one that's opening in Monmouth County is a bit far for me, but I have been to one in Connecticut. Quite a concept. But since I work for (probably) the biggest supermarket co in my area, all I will say is that I'm sure people around there will be happy!

If you're a fan of their wine, keep going to Westfield. I think that's the only store in NJ that has liquor - well, at least the only store in the northern part of the state.

To the op - some of my Trader Joe's staples include

vacuum packed steamed & peeled baby beets
TJ's brand 0% fat greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
organic low sugar preserves (strawberry & apricot are my faves)
Dry roasted sliced almonds (all their nuts are good, and reasonably priced)
Polenta tubes (cheaper than anywhere else!)
frozen turkey bolognese sauce
stuffed peppers (in the refrig. case)
hummus
sesame sticks
instant chocolate or vanilla pudding mix
cranberry/macadamia/ginger trek mix

Reminds me, I need to go to TJ's soon. =)

It is opening on Rt 35 North in Shrewsbury, NJ. They won't be selling wine though because there is already a Spirits store in the same shopping center.

I went to Westfield once. It is just a bit too far to be part of my regular shopping.

So what company do you work for? Just curious....

I live in Lincroft. I probably won't get there tomorrow, maybe early next week. Unless DH wants to check it out with me over the weekend.

Some of my favs:

Triple Fudge Brownie mix
Vanilla bean cake mix
pumpkin butter (usually around Halloween/Thanksgiving)
any of their hummus
frozen chicken tamales
pizza dough
nuts and trail mixes
Kettle Korn

the list could go on and on..

Small world - I grew up in Lincroft, lived there for 23 until I got married. My parents still live there. I'm in Tinton Falls. I'm hoping to get there bright and
early, but we will see. I'm going to check out their flyer and mark off things
I don't want to forget to check out.

Wow! Small world is right. My DH & I moved here a little over 15 years ago.

I didn't get a flyer, did you get one in the mail, or find it online? I only found out it was opening because I went to Staples yesterday.

You can also "unsubscribe" to the mailing - which I really appreciate since I'm trying to cut down on unwanted mail.

We are TJ's shoppers - I just don't need the mail.

Every trip purchases:
Frozen steel cut oatmeal
frozen organic blueberries
walnuts
(these three together are my breakfast at least 3 days a week)
milk
cheese (too many wonderful varieties to list)
veggies (they are good here in SoCal)
taco seasoning (be careful it is spicy!)
cooking oils
Wisc. mac/cheese
I'm not a big fan of the premade frozen items - but I don't tend to like them anywhere.

I believe there is a website "what to buy at TJ's" somewhere online.

have fun!
:hippie:

Oh I forgot we love the corn bread mix and the seasonal pumpkin bread mix.

The Trader Joe's in Westfield and Princeton sell wine.

I shop at the TJ in Florham Park and go to Westfield when I need to buy wine. :)

The Florham Park TJ moved across the street and into a larger store not too long ago.

I asked why they only sold wine in 2 locations and they said that's all the state would allow.

Has anyone tried the chocolate cake mix?

I made cupcakes with the yellow cake mix and chocolate frosting. It was really tasty. Although the cake reminded me a little of cornbread. The texture of the cake was different too. It wasn't finely textured. But it was good for a box mix.

Tomatoless corn salsa. We don't have a TJ here in Colorado so my huband brings back my salsa everytime he has to travel to CA. Yummy!
