Disney Fantasy ~ December 22, 2012 ~ 7 Night Western Caribbean

Is anyone else on this? I can't post it on the meets yet since I don't have enough posts.

Can someone post it for IrishCowboy? I think that's his username.

Thanks for starting the thread! I didn't want to start it as the last time I started a meet thread, we ended up cancelling the cruise (and regretted that decision!).

We booked this cruise two weeks ago today. It was the highest cost per person cruise that we've booked. By the time we go on it, it should be #7 for my DW and I and #6 for our 3 boys. We are in connecting Cat 6b staterooms on Deck 7.

This will be our first Christmas spent away from our family. Yet, we are very excited to be able to enjoy Christmas Eve in Grand Cayman and Christmas Day while in Costa Maya! We do plan to bring along a few decorations for our rooms.

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

YAY! :cool1:

This will be our first cruise as a family.

Me, DH, DS (who will be 11) and DD (who will be 8).

We are very excited about our Christmas on the Fantasy.

This will also be our first cruise, too!

It will be me, hubby and our girls (17, 12 and 10 at the time of the cruise)!

We also plan on decorating our room! :santa:

I think I need a new ticker. Mine doesn't show up most of the time.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better and then meeting up on the cruise!

Hi I'm Aisling. My husband Mel and I will be on this cruise! This will be my 3rd DCL cruise (Christmas Eastern in 2005 and NYE Western in 2008).

Our oldest son is getting married and already has plans for Christmas 2012. He says when they have children they'll stay home to start some family traditions of their own. My other son who's 18 will be spending Christmas 2012 in Wast Palm Beach. So I convinced my husband to cruise for the first time without the "kids". We're usually big on having family Christmases, but since my sons already have plans, well, we do, too, now. This way I won't be home feeling sad that we won't be spending Christmas together.

I'm 48, Mel is 49. We're from Brooklyn, NYC.

It's nice to "meet" you!

After nearly 7 weeks of availability of booking, it is still not listed on the DCL website. :confused3

Maybe with this week's big announcement, it will be listed and more people will book and join this thread. However, if the Magic offers a longer itinerary, we may jump ship to take advantage of more days onboard during the Holidays!

That sounds great. Too bad for us that my husband has to get back to work, so a longer cruise is out.

I have a TA friend and even she can't get answers from DCL on when the website booking will open up. I think a lot of people will be angry that they missed the chance to book in Feb. before the price increase.

So far we're booked on this cruise too. Trying to decide whether to keep it or move to the double dip and use the extra days at DW. Would be hard to do though because we just got back from a 7 day Eastern and couldn't imagine going on a shorter cruise! :lmao: So most likely we'll stick with this one. :thumbsup2

I just book this cruise and it nothing changes within the next 621 days, we will be boarding the Fantasy on December 22, 2012. I will have DS ( who will be 8 at time of sailing). This will be the first time we sail with Disney for a Christmas cruise!

When I booked this cruise, I was expecting the deposit to be $250 pp, like it was for our 2005 and 2008 cruises, but now for the two of us it's a bit over $1000. At fist I was bummed, as I have a wedding to save for, too, but I feel ok about it now since that's $1000 less for when full payment is due.

Does anyone feel more stressed about choosing a cruise since there are (will be) 4 ships to choose from now? I was looking at the Magic 8 day Christmas Western out of Galveston because there are 4 at sea days which I love, and I also love that it's going to Cozumel. But no Castaway Cay.:sad1: I really want my husband to see the waters of the Bahamas, but oh well, that'll have to be another cruise if I'm not in the poor house by then.

Well, I can avoid the poor house if we use the money we were saving for a new deck and patio area and use it for another cruise. So what if it's falling apart. Ok, I'm just talking to myself out loud here. Our deck really isn't falling apart, but we wanted to make it nicer. I rationalize that we never spend any time out there anyway, and we still wouldn't if we remodeled it. Unless we put a 52" plasma screen TV out there for hubby, and that just ain't happening.

We are booked in joining rooms 8000/8002. So far, Myself, wife, son, 17, son, 14 and daughter 12. We are going to offer to take my mother-in-law along as well. Find out about that tomorrow. We are not real big with the meetings and such, but I love to look forward to the cruise with folks and get to know my fellow shipmates. Possible participant in a FE as well. Not sure on that just because of space.

Hi All, We (DH, DS, DD and me) booked this cruise while on the Dream at the end of March. Hoping to keep the date :santa: and not "float" it somewhere else. This will be our 4th Disney cruise--one each on the Magic, Wonder, Dream and now the Fantasy. At the time of the sailing DS will be 15 and DD will be 10. December 2012 seems like a long time away--we've got two trips booked to WDW (August and December 2011) and hopefully a spring break at Disneyland before this cruise happens! For now, it's fun to think about--even though it's 538 days away!

This will be our fourth as well. One on each ship. I am really looking forward to it. Welcome to the board!

Bah! We've jumped ship! We'll be cruising the week before! Have a wonderful cruise everyone! ;)
