Birthdays, surprises, Magic & Merriment *3/25 New PTR Link We leave in 47 days*

Before I get to our DHS day, I have to tell you about two very special children we met along with their fantastic parents. Tinker Tam is an amazing DISer that was taking her first trip with her family to WDW. At a point in her planning she thought they would be able to get to go to MVMCP, circumstances changed and she didn’t think they would be able to. It broke my heart reading that, we love MVMCP - the fireworks are stunning, the parade so much fun, and the atmosphere amazing. I told Bill about the situation and we both had the feeling that we should do something. Well “fate stepped in” as Jiminy Cricket would say and we ended up with 2 extra adult MVMCP tickets. I contacted her and asked if she would like to have them. So on the night of Dec. 1st we were texting back and forth and decided it would be a good time to meet up with them.

We met up in the Pop food court. It was so great finally getting to meet Tammy and Jon in person. She is such a sweet soul and he was so nice. I talked her ear off and since my mouth was moving my brain wasn’t working so I didn’t take one picture, NOT ONE!! I showed Gavin how to honk Bill’s wheelchair horn and he went to town honking it. He is so adorable and Brenda was so beautiful with her Bibbity Bobbity Boutique updo.

I got permission from Tammy to post a picture of her two sweeties, meet Gavin:

and Brenda:

The only difference when we met them was they had changed into regular clothes.

Using your imagination you couldn’t even get close to how stinkin cute Gavin was with his Pirate makeup still on. Brenda still looked like a princess even though the dress was gone. They were precious. We talked for a bit but I knew we needed to go, so we were getting ready to say our goodbyes when Gavin went off with his Daddy to look at the food court offerings. Gavin came running back, eyes huge and yelled “THEY HAVE CARROT CAKE!!!” and he skipped off back to Jon. Bill and I just cracked up. It was so delightful to hear the joy in his voice. I have to tell you every time we see Carrot Cake, we look at each other and scream “THEY HAVE CARROT CAKE” and just giggle.

We were so blessed to have met Tammy and her family and hope to do so again at some point in the future.

Next installment…. DHS and falling in love

Wow!!! They look great!!!

How the heck did I not know you had a report going?! Well I'm here and all caught up! GREAT stuff so far!

All caught up! Thanks for waiting. :goodvibes Tracey, Looks like you're having a great time. I love to hear the way you are doing so much laughing together - just the joy of being on vacation together! You may have to keep your eye on Bill - I think I see he is a flirt!;)

It's great you got to help Toni celebrate her birthday, even if it turned out a little different than you planned.

Tutto looks fab on every TR I see. It will definitely be on my list next time!

Tammy's little ones are so beautiful! How wonderful that you could help make it possible for them to come to the party!:santa: Some things are just meant top be!

How wonderful that you could spread a little pixie dust. Those kids are adorable.

I love the MVMCP. It's just a fun time there. I can't wait to plan a Dec. trip again. Not for a few years though. :sad2:

I'm with Gavin, I get excited at carrot cake too.

They are stinking cute kids aren't they. I don't know Jon but I have talked to Tammy and she is wonderful!

Funny how we teach our children not to talk to strangers online and yet it seems we have met so many wonderful people here!

Awww...they are too adorable!! How sweet that you were able to spread some more pixie dust, Tracy!!

Love the carrot cake comment! :rotfl2:

Hi Tracy, wanted to stop by and say hello, great report ya got going here, a couple of comments if I may?

Tracy quote: Can’t stop myself from taking pictures of the miniature train set:

I'm the same way, but the best time is on a hot sunny day, if you're lucky a couple of the lizards will have come out and they look like Godzilla sitting on one of the little houses or walkinjg down a miniature street.

[
Of course Bill wanted a picture with Helga:

226.jpg

Boy, first Bill get's his picture with Susan Lucci, now it's Helga? All downhill from here, Bill.

By the time we got there it was getting colder and colder and we debated staying, I can’t believe we did this but we actually made the adult decision to leave. Can you believe that?? That is the reason for the quote, our World fell into FREEZING ruins and we decided to go. I snapped some not so good pictures on the way out:

I remember the temps that day, that was one of the warmer nights compared to what's coming up.

BTW a little fact I didn’t know, you can’t carry alcohol out of the park well unless you are Nebo and Smidgy and have either a SunnyD container or a fuzzy cup, but since I had neither I didn’t get to. A CM asked me what I was drinking and foolishly I told them the truth. They told me I either had to drink it or throw it away. I almost decided to down it but figured that it would make me cold all over again to reluctantly threw it away.

What? Had to throw it outf? OH the humanity! I never would have thought you couldn't take a drink "OUT" of the park. Then again, I don't think I have, or ever will, have the opportunity or need to actually take a drink, "out" of a park.

As we were walking toward the exits I heard a familiar voice, about 20 feet in front of us was TnT, I pointed them out to Bill and he took off after them. HELLO what about me??? I knew I would catch up because he had forgotten about the metal gates and I would have to help him get through, not like anyone around him would be nice enough to hold it open for him. So I caught up with him there, let him through and he TOOK OFF on me again determined to catch up with them. He was flying, honking his horn and they turned around and started laughing. They waited for my fat butt to catch up and we all went to the bus stop together talking about our day to each other, it was a fun surprise to run into them like that, even though now they must have thought Bill was a stalker.

I still don't think the Oregons really exist, our room was just donw from yours and we never ran into them once.
Great stuff, keep it up.

Awwww! Such sweet pictures of the kiddos! I hope Tammy returns to the DIS soon so we can read all about it. :goodvibes

Every time I see carrot cake I'm going to think of your DIS meet!

Doesn't Gavins picture just crack you up. I saw these on her facebook and I was just laughing so hard.
And Brenda is such a cutie in her princess gear.

We love MVMCP and it did seem like fate stepped in. We were happy to have helped.

Bill is a total flirt :rotfl:. We were so happy to get to spend time with TNT, they are fabulous people. You are right they were meant to go to that party and we were happy to make it happen.

How wonderful that you could spread a little pixie dust. Those kids are adorable.

We do enjoy trying to help spread pixie dust, it makes us happy to be able to share things that WDW has to offer.

They are stinking cute kids aren't they. I don't know Jon but I have talked to Tammy and she is wonderful!

Tammy is an extraordinary person. We were lucky to have met her and her family. I know what you mean about the stranger issue. It just seems we start talking on here, then take if off the board to by the time we get to WDW they are more like friends :goodvibes.

Awww...they are too adorable!! How sweet that you were able to spread some more pixie dust, Tracy!!

Love the carrot cake comment! :rotfl2:

HI NEBO!!!! I will have to do that with the lizards, I have seen pictures but never got to take them. That will be on my list for next trip :thumbsup2.

Bill is a celebrity/character magnet, they all want pictures with him.

If it hadn't been so cold I wouldn't have had any booze left, but I was freezing.

The Oregons do exist, I had many drinks with them :rotfl:.

Awwww! Such sweet pictures of the kiddos! I hope Tammy returns to the DIS soon so we can read all about it. :goodvibes

I think Tammy will come back at some point. Right now she is dealing with medical issues with both the kids :sad2:. I know every time we see carrot cake I will think of Gavin .

So glad I decide to open this. I have loved all your trip reports. Can't wait to hear more.

Thank you so much for joining us!!

Doesn't Gavins picture just crack you up. I saw these on her facebook and I was just laughing so hard.

Gavin is just so adorable you just want to hug him and not let go. Brenda was such a beautiful princess.

The Mad Hatter: You could stay.
Alice Kingsley: What an idea. What a mad, crazy, wonderful idea.
[They smile at each other]
Alice Kingsley: ... But I can't.

Dec. 2nd, 2010

Oh Hollywood Studios, how we love thee. We know many people don’t like you at all or think you are a half day park but we are loyal to you. We LOVE your Streetmosphere people and your accessibility.

This day, well this day is a blur for me. I know what we did by the pictures, but not much else, I know BAD trip report writer BAD. So this installment will have a bunch of pictures.

We went here:

246.jpg

Nebo, a wonderful TR writer here on the DIS calls it “the OK Movie Ride”. We like anything that Bill can stay in his chair for. So you know I had to take a bunch of pictures:

I was pleasantly surprised that the accessible ride vehicles held more than one mobility device now:

274.jpg

This just makes me love WDW even more!!

We met up with TnT and went here again:

277.jpg

After this Terry told me he wanted to “borrow” Bill for a bit, seems he wanted to get one more thing for Toni for her birthday and wanted Bill to help him pick it out. The guys went off into the crowd and Toni and I decided to go into One Man’s Dream. I absolutely love going in here. Walt fascinates me, without him we never would have gotten to meet TnT, without him we would have never met KathyRN137 and her family or the countless other DISers we have met over the years. WDW has brought such joy into our lives and I love to see/read anything about Walt. Of course I took more pictures:

281.jpg

282.jpg

YAY!! The Florida Project:

291.jpg

Walt’s office, look at all the ashtrays, makes me so sad to see them since he died of lung cancer:

287.jpg

We looked at all the models of the parks and watched the movie about his life at the end of the attraction. I get all teary eyed every time I watch it. The guys had been texting us while we were in the movie, we met up with them and parted ways. It was nice to know we would meet up with them again soon.

We took a friendship boat to the Boardwalk and we fell in LOVE with the place.

293.jpg

294.jpg

It is absolutely gorgeous to us, the shops, the atmosphere, everything was just wonderful. We had an agenda, we wanted to try:

295.jpg

It is one of TnT’s favorite restaurants, so we wanted to try it. The wait was going to be about 45 minutes, but the buzzer thingy would work in the warm shops so we said OK and made our way back down the Boardwalk. I would think our wait was only about 30 minutes, it went by quickly. We looked at all the cute things in the shops and just chit chatted.

We got seated and ordered some drinks:

8.jpg

I posted that on facebook, then a couple minutes later, I posted this:

9.jpg

This is a little joke we play on servers in restaurants. I always put Bill’s drink in his cup, so it looks like he downs his drinks. We get some odd looks.
Bill’s dinner:

We both got this for dessert:

All we can say is Y U M M Y ! ! ! We really enjoyed it and will be back.

After dinner we wandered around the Boardwalk. We loved seeing the performers pop up from time to time. It was great. We went inside and saw another one:

Here is the fantastic Boardwalk Christmas display:

We then took a bus to DTD, then a bus back to Pop and who did we run into? Mickey_Mom. She was so sweet and funny, her family was cracking me up because we kept talking and they kept telling her it was time to go.

Next installment….. It’s C O L D… I don’t wanna leave the room

First, who are those cute kids in your TR??? LOL Ok, I think I will claim them. Thanks for all the nice comments on how cute they are. I will be getting back to my TR soon. Just so much going on.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times Gavin had that Carrot Cake at Pop! Not sure what his fascination was with it but the little booger wouldn't share at all! :lmao:

So glad to see the boardwalk pictures. That is one of the things that was on my list but I didn't get to... there is always next time!

That stitch made out of food is neat!!!! The boardwalk area is sooo nice to stroll around!

You are right, Tracy, those are 2 very adorable kiddos; I'm so glad you were able to bless their socks off! I've never had a bad DISMseet; it's a place where such nice folks hang out.

Your DHS day looks great so far! I do like that park- and although it's not my favorite, it's definitely NOT a half day park whatsoever!! The Streetmospere adds a completely differenct dimension and element of fun!! :cool1: Of course, ToT ain't bad either.:banana::banana:

We love GMR too:thumbsup2 What's not to like? Relaxing a/c, a trip down memory lane, and a little Magic in the end!

I have to admit, we have become a little disenchanted with DHS - I think it's because we tried to commando it last trip - you just can't do that. I think you just have to "discover" things around each corner. Like One Man's Dream - that was an accident and we enjoyed it so much!

Your Boardwalk pics are beautiful! I love the atmosphere there, nothing really holds our interest for long, though! Your dinner looked great. Funny trick you played on the server;)

Great Update !!!I don't think I've seen food porn from Big River before ,it looks Yummy!!!Nice trick with the drink:rotfl2:

Great update. I have mixed feelings about DHS. I love parts of it and parts really need to be updated. I had the greatest time with one of the Stretmosphere characters a couple of years ago. She had my DH and I holding our sides from laughing so much. The way she interacted with my DGS was worth the entire trip. I do love One Mans Dream. You are so right that if it weren't for this man there are many friendships that wouldn't have been formed. I find it sad that he didn't live to see his dream fulfilled.

I strolled the Boardwalk in 40 degree pouring rain and didn't enjoy it. I will have to give it another try one day. I am spoiled though. I live a short drive from the Jersey shore and get to go to the boardwalk quite a lot.

Love the trick with the cups. Bill looks like he likes to play jokes on people.
