Momma, I got to dance with Flynn Ryder! A January 2011 TR.

Love your recount of your trip to WDW :D Can't wait to read more, with each post about your trip im getting more excited about my visit in early Feb next year :D Can't wait to read more
The year will fly by, and you'll be having a blast!

How cool to be in the first truck. I can't wait to read more.
We have a couple of firsts in this trip;)

The story of your teenage daughter needing 2 hours to get ready had me:rotfl: as I used to take just as long. I have grown out of it now and think my mum feels better for it!

Thanks for the review of Tusker House as we are planning on eating there on our trip - can't wait to have Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast!

Have just read your 2nd update and that baby dumbo is very cute :thumbsup2
Sam can get ready in 30 mins, I've seen it. It comes down to how bad she needs to get movin':confused3
The Tusker House was ggod, my DH had couple of the donuts!

I have to say I think I might finally be coming down from my Packers high now. I swear Monday I was running on adrenaline because I hardly got any sleep I was so pumped! LOL.

Breakfast looked good. Bummer Samantha didn't want pictures with the characters.

AK definitely is educational! Love it there. :thumbsup2
I now see why people have heart attacks during sporting events! My blood pressure was up, and by the end of the 3rd quarter I had a headache. Monday around 2ish I was so tired, I counldn't stand myself!:lmao:
I think the characters knew, she got attention later in the trip:cool2:

Love your AK update! I love Tusker House, can't wait to go back in April! I'm looking forward to seeing Samantha's character moments: I LOVE the characters but most of my friends don't. :p

Just found your TR and off to a great start! :thumbsup2
Sorry to hear about the major delay but its great that you got to eat where you wanted to! I would have been exhausted!
Oooh I think I have to add Tusker House breakfast to a future trip list. That looked yummy!
I hope I don't see the P&F gang while I'm there next week, I might be tempted to buy them all like Kadence!

Hey!! I just happened upon your TR- we were at Disney's POR in January 2011 for 10 days too!! Our trip was from Jan. 13-23 ... Loving the TR so far - It looks like you had an amazing time and your family is beautiful.

I noticed your pictures from the boat on the way back to POR from DTD- It was so pretty! I took a million pictures of our trip to include in my TR- I just loved checking out other DISers pictures before my trip and wanted to share mine too!

Samantha did get pic & autographs on our last trip, but decided to skip it this time. Tusker House was great!

I think Tusker house was my favorite breakfast of the trip. Kadence's goal was just to get Perry, but couldn't resit the whole gang!

Thank-you, I like my family too! The boat ride is what calls to my DH. He's a bit sad we won't be there in Sept.

I'm working on an update, work has been busy & we've not been feeling well here. I will tell you this; Samantha would kill me if she knew how many people could see this TR!

After we were done with the Pangani Forest Trail & Conservation Station, I really wanted to get our photos taken by photo pass. Along the way we heard some music. Samantha, (in hindsight admits we shouldn't have listened to her!) suggested that we stop to watch. It was a performance by an African group. They started to grab people from the audience, including Sam. She tried to resist, but they were very persistent!
The performers started showing the people dance moves and for them to copy those moves. And like any good parent, the rest is photographic and video recorded history!

Check out the look I'm getting.......

Dance Baby Dance.......

The performers had asked them to spread out, and the big guy next to Sam had told her if they spread out enough, maybe they could slip away un-noticed!

Pictures just don't do it justice. Every time we saw another performance anywhere in Disney we asked Sam if she wanted to stop and watch. :lmao:

Cont in next post....

After Sam's entertaining moments, we headed to get out pictures done. I personally hate these. It was a very windy day and our hair looks bad, and we're all squinting. I'm do have one that turned out ok, but it's on Photo Pass, so that will have to wait until I receive them. On to It's Tough to be a Bug. Along the way.....

The line was moving fast so I snapped as we went.

Kadence hated it! It scared the heck right out of her.She freaked, cried & climbed up in DH's lap, and good thing or she would have felt the crawly bench. She has told us, Never again!

One last shot of the Tree from underneath..

After that, we headed over to see how long of a wait Lion King had, and look who we ran into!
Thumper & Miss Bunny.

And Brother Bear....

We decided after that, to get some lunch since Lion King wasn't going to start until 1:30. We went to Pizzasafari. It was very good. We all had pizza & ceasar salads with chocolate mousse for dessert. YUM

Next, Lion King.

Poor Samantha...she so didn't want to be involved in that dance!! Had to laugh at the suggestion of her neighbour saying they may be able to slip away unnoticed!

Love the close up pictures of the tree. It's a shame Kadence didn't enjoy It's Tough to be a Bug but at least she gave it a shot :thumbsup2

Great character pictures and that tray of food is making me hungry! popcorn::

How hilarious. Paige would've been not so thrilled either. In fact the other day I was showing her our matching tyedye shirts and she told me what a big nerd I was, and our family would be on oe of those shows on TV that make fun of people doing stuff like that. I asked if if I told her I would take her on a cruise (she lately really wants to go on one, not with me though, with friends)...but if I would take her on one....the only thing she would have to do is where a fmily matching Tshirt. :rotfl2: She said no way.
Pizzafari looks so good. Actually I was eyeing the chocolate Mousse.

Glad your better and it was minor. :goodvibes Those pictures of Sam dancing with the group...PRICELESS! I loved the pictures at the tree of life...I admit, I love that show for some reason...and I would have loved to see the Bunnies! (hubby calls me Bunny). Still eagerly waiting for the Flynn Ryder dance. :yay:

What a great time in AK! We love Tusker House for lunch. We'll have to try the breakfast next time.

I laughed out loud while reading about Samantha's dance experience and the comment made by the man next to her. I would have been like Samantha, dreading the whole thing. Then, after the man's funny remark, I would have had a blast! Little things like that can make my day! :rotfl2:

Glad everyone's feeling better. Looking forward to reading more about your trip! popcorn::

Glad you are feeling better.

I totally felt for Sam. I would have died having to dance! Looks like she was a pretty good sport about it.

We've never tried Pizzafari. It looks yummy!

No, she really tried to get away, but the performer wasn't letting go of her arm! Kadence is afaid of the dark, so I didnt expect her to love it, but I didn't think she would freak like that.

I want to be one of those cute matching families! I'm thinking for MNSSHP! The mousse was yum-O

Kadence was excited to see the bunnies. I have more pictures of the Tree, but picked through. I took ALOT of pictures this trip (1,200) and that doesn't include the PhotoPass!

We gave her a lot of ribbing about it the whole rest of the trip, some of the dance moves were booty shaking, and we still laugh about it!

Glad you are feeling better.

I know that if I were a teen, it would have mortified me as well! Pizzafari was good, just don't use the paper straws, yuck!

Well, we got 13 inches of snow here, and I have a snow day! I thought I’d do an update or 3.

After our yummy lunch, we headed over to see Lion King show. It was about 40 minutes till show time. Along the way we saw Pocahontas

The show was awesome! Last time we were there, we were picked to open the show and got VIP front row seating and a certificate. We had decent seats this time,We were Warthogs! I would have liked to been higher up, but I was trying to avoid the Brazilian tour groups. This was the only time we had run into the groups; we seemed to go the other direction all the rest of the time.

After the show, we headed over to DinoLand, Kadence and I rode Tricotops spin....

while DH & Sam watched us ever so excitedly!

It was getting close to Parade time, so we decided to go find a nice spot and wait.
Cont. next post

The Parade was good, it seemed all the characters on our side gave Kadence a Hi-5.

After the Parade, we decide to leave the park and go to DTD. We really wanted to try to see if we could get in to eat at T-Rex and do some shopping.

Since it was so windy and getting cold,( in the low 50's) well cold for Florida, the boats to DTD were not operating so we decided to take the bus. Here are some shots from around POR,
This is the Alligator Bayou area, (where we stayed)

Coming around to the main area of the resort,

The River Roost,( bar area) Riverside Mill,(counter service area) and Boartwrights (Table service area)

The Lobby,

Entry to the arcade,

The Boats to DTD,

Next, DTD

We made it DTD, Kadence wanted to take a picture of the mops. Not bad, only her 3rd shot!

They did want a picture here,

We headed over to T-Rex. We were told it was going to be about a 20 minute wait, so we got a number and waited to be called. While we were waiting I snapped acouple of pics,

Right inside the doors is a gift shop and this big guy! He was roaring and moving quite a bit.

Soon we were called and show to a table right between the Ice room and forest area,

Color Change,

Our food was okay. The fries were my favorite, Kadence got a kids meal Cheeseburger w/ banana

I got fish & fries,

Sam got Shrimp & fries,

And DH got the Ribs & Mashed potaoes, he didn't care for the ribs.

Sam was not feeling well while we were at T-Rex. She gets migraine headaches and this one snuck up on her so we left soon after we ate, but did stop real quick at World of Disney so Kadence could lighten her gift cards a bit. I remembered to take a picture later at the hotel of her new friends, Baby Marie & Baby Goofy.

The Next Morning; off to Epcot

:yay: for a snow day - especially if it means more updates!!

Love the pics of FOLK and the parade at AK!

POR looks great - it's a shame the boat wasn't operating on the day you went to DTD. Love Baby Marie - she looks so cute!!!
