Our Disneymoon PTR + Wedding TR w/ pics - I'm back! (TR link and POP review 9/7)

I am always afraid that I will show up for an ADR at the wrong time. I hated to read that you were late. But, happy to hear that they were able to get you a table with not too long of a wait. The food looks delicious!

Oh, you poor thing, you are soooo not happy to be leaving Disney! And I can't blame you one little bit!

Finally got my mom's biopsy results back. It's not good news. Basically all they can do is manage the tumor through chemo and radio. Most people don't live more than 15 months... :sad1:

Chances of her coming to our wedding in Cuba are slim to none. Even if she feels ok and her doctors giver her the ok, she might not be able to get any travel insurance. I was thinking of maybe doing a small photoshoot of just her and I in my wedding dress a couple of weeks before the wedding.

We entertained the thought of canceling Disney, but really there is no reason to go ahead and stop living for the next 15 months. My mom wouldn't want me to do that anyway. What we will do is change up our reservation so that everything is booked separate and not as a package. I've heard that this way you can cancel up to 48 hours before check-in. That would give us more leeway in case something happens last minute.

I made that "frown face" just for the picture, but no, I was not happy to be leaving.

So sorry to hear about your mom's not-so-good results. :sad1: How is she taking the news? Must be so scary. I agree that you can't stop living for the next 15 months. Plus, just because most people don't live past 15 months doesn't mean that's what will happen. Could be sooner, could be years from now! Hang in there, Mel!

Oh I am so very sorry to hear this news. I have said prayers for her every day and will continue to do so.

If I were you, I'd savor every moment you have with her. I would definitely do a photoshoot of the two os you in your wedding dress. I think that would would be great.

I would not cancel the trip to Disney either. You are right, your mother would not want you to do that. She would want you to go and have fun.

As I said, I'll continue to pray for your mother and for your family. Many hugs coming your way!

Thanks. My mom is shocked, of course, but otherwise seems to be holding up quite well. She is holding on to the hope that things are going to be fine for a long time. I just really hope she gets to live long enough for both my brother and I to finally have a kid (we should both be starting to try later this year). I am just going to miss very much the opportunity to bring her to Disney with her grand-children when they get older.

Thank you. Not only does my mom not want me to cancel Disney, but now that she can't come to Cuba she wants to give me a sizable gift from my Disney registry. She got worried when I started mentioning plans of canceling, but I was just saying last minute cancellation IF need be..

On a related news, I just booked my appointment for my next tattoo! :goodvibes On my back I already a flower representing me and one representing m grandma. A little while ago I started thinking about adding one for my mom, so now that's what I'm going to do in late May. I can.t wait to tell my mom about it. :) I also plan on asking the artist to include a hidden Mickey somewhere. :wizard:

I am so sorry about your mom's results :sad1: I am glad to hear that you are not canceling your honeymoon, though. One thing that I would suggest is to put a ban on certain "bad news" calls while you are on your honeymoon. My grandmother's husband was very sick during our last trip. She was worried the entire vacation that she would receive that call. Every single time the phone rang she was absolutely frantic. I think you should tell people the kinds of "bad news" calls that you would be okay receiving on your honeymoon, and the kinds that you would not. That way, you won't freak out every time the phone rings.

Again, I am so sorry to hear about your mother

That's a very good idea. I usually keep my cell phone closed anyway though as I don't want to pay big long distance fees. But I do check it every day so it's a good idea to set up some ground rules about those sort of calls.

Ok, enough with the negativity. Walt Disney World is supposed to be the most magical place on Earth, so let's focus on that. After all, this next trip will be a celebration of love.

A few days ago I got my Minnie Bridal Ears in the mail. I put them on, to see how they feel, and kept them on all night! I love seeing my reflection in the mirror, or even just my shadow on the wall. :cutie:

Here's a sneak peak of what I'll look like next summer.
MeMinnieBridalears.jpg

I also got my Disney registry gift card in the mail. It looks gorgeous! The blues, the purples, the castle, Cinderella's carriage, and of course the pixie dust. :wizard:
I'm keeping that one as a souvenir for sure after we're done using it!
Registrygiftcard.jpg

A few weeks ago I bought a Disney book at Hallmark. It's full of quotes from Walt himself as well as popular movies. I decided to come here and post a different quote everyday (ok, maybe not everyday, but often enough ;)).
Disneyquotesbook.jpg

I'll start with one I find appropriate given what I'm going through these days:

"Keep your chin up. Someday there will be happiness again."
-Robin Hood

Those ears are sooo cute! :lovestruc I also love the gift card. I can't wait until mine comes in! I love Walt Disney quotes, too :goodvibes

Super cute! I HOPE I get to wear those same ears, one day very soon!!! What did you receive the gift card for? LOve that book, wanted to get it for Kayla!

Thanks. I will post another quote today.

Thank you. I hope you get to wear those ears too soon. :goodvibes

The gift card I received from Disney when I registered to their honeymoon registry. It's empty now, but I used the number of the card to activate my registry. So now any person who buys me a "gift" through my registry is essentially putting money on my gift card. :)

So, here's another quote from my new Disney book:
"I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter."
-Walt Disney

Quote of the day:
Love will always find a way.

Loving your PTR- I must confess to lurking for a while now!!

My DBF and I finished up our romantic 10 day trip to Disney not too long ago and I must say Disney is probably the best place to have a honeymoon! It is so romantic. I took a million pictures if you want to check um out- I loved looking at other people's pictures to get excited for my own trip!

I hope your trip goes as planned and you get a chance to enjoy it!! I like your post about remaining positive... Keep your chin up and focus on the good things in life- your new love, your wedding, and Disneymoon planning!!

Our Small World travel agent must be getting dizzy from all the changes we made her do lately. First it was to get a room discount for part of our trip, and now we changed the way we reserved everything. We want it all separate (not part of a package) so we can cancel last minute (instead of 45 days before) in case things are really not going well for my mom at that time.

Also yesterday I went to pay the remainder of my balance for my Cuba wedding. A lot of people have had to cancel for different reasons over the past few months, but apparently other friends called our TA this week to possibly book. DH's cousins are also looking into booking soon. Hope they all can make it, the more the merrier!

Yay! A new reader! Thanks for the comments. I am trying to stay positive, though some days are harder than others.

I'll go check your TR. Always love looking at more Disney pictures, even more so of romantic trips. :lovestruc

Quote of the day:
"There is nowhere you can go where love can't follow."
- 101 Dalmatians

We booked our ADRs! Only 2, as we will be paying OOP for every meal.
We booked Cape May Cafe on our DHS day. It closes at 7pm, so we'll just slowly walk over or take the boat to Beach Club after we're done. We'll check out the Boardwalk before/after, and possibly go play a round of mini-golf at Fantasia.
Anybody know if their menu is the same every night? DH is worried that the clams won't be offered every night and it's his main reason for wanting to eat there.

Our other ADR is a late breakfast at Boma on our break day. We'll get up late and then take a cab over to AKL. After we might go spend a few hours at AK if we feel like it, or go to DTD, or even just come back to relax by the pool at our resort. Of course we'll take the time to walk around AKL.

As for wedding planning, I really need to get in gear soon. I need to order stadium cups as our gift to our guests, I need to renew my passport, book a fitting for my wedding dress, give a list of addresses of guests to my MOH for my bachelorette, start writing my vows, finish writing the sand ceremony, etc. So much to do, and time is starting to slip away!. :bride:

Are you not doing the DDP? Where are you planning on eating during your stay? I personally love the DDP, but I kind of eat like a pig popcorn::. I also like sitting down to a table service a day (it is my break :goodvibes). I think that Cape May always serves clams, but I have never been there.

I sooo need to get on the wedding planning, too! I haven't even started my wedding invites :scared1: My officiant sent me a bunch of sample vows, and I still need to go over those. I have until like a week before the wedding, though (I should still get started). I know what you mean about the time just slipping away. I can hear that clock just ticking away...
