How rude and un-Disney like, I would have complained for you Michelle.

You should have read her other reports :thumbsup2
We had a cruise where the Captain asked us how her thread was going, which shocked us a bit. Maybe we'll be lucky and the Dream Captain will be secretly reading this and perhaps put a word or two in about the service at Palo for the ladies.

Thanks so much Rob!

Wow! You have class and self control for not saying anything to the server and manager about that rude behavior. Good for you. I think I may have chased him around the restaurant with a butter knife! ;) :rotfl:
LOL @ butter knife! I feel bad because I should have at least mentioned it, but didn't want to keep Cass longer after dinner. We really did roll out of there. :goodvibes

Wow!!!

You had every right to complain. I know I would have.
I really should have. I would hate for that to happen again to someone else because I didn't say anything.

And it really was fun going 10 times in a row on the Aquaduck! I also loved seeing Cass light up every time she went down. I know she missed her family alot, so I liked seeing her happy!

Oh, Cass, I love you so much and am so thankful that you are still with us to give us this DCL pornography!!!:hug:

I have been trying to get to the end to post something to you, but I keep getting behind! I now have to leave off tonight on page 21 to get my daughter off to her 6th birthday celebration!!! Can't believe that I first started reading your posts when she was not even out of my belly yet prior to her first cruise at 14 months!

Thank you so much for doing this again!!

Oh, and by the way, girl, here in the states, we buy Ken's Honey Mustard all the time at BJ's Wholesale club in these big *&ss containers! See if Costco or Sam's have it! We keep it on hand all the time!

I was going to tell you to bring it with you on the next cruise!

So, can't wait to get to what I want to see: Pools and Clubs!!! Can't wait to see any scrapping you do of the trip also!

I am here with ya, girlfriend! Keep it up!!! :cheer2:

Lower Decks Reviews

Let me just start by saying the ship is a true beauty! I LOVED exploring the ship and I spent a lot of time doing it and I still didn't get to see all of it. You really need 7 days ::yes::

The Enchanted Art/Mid-ship Detective Agency was bloody brilliant!!! What a fantastic addition! In case you aren't up to speed...there are art pieces located throughout the ship....when you walk by them, certain things happen, they come to life...they move...they animate...some are VERY cool!! And they don't always do the same thing! Some pieces do different things each time it is activated.

These same pieces are also used in a game called Midship Detective Agency. At these kiosks (the only one that was open was the one just off the atrium, mid-ship (duh!) deck 5, for the first three days, then the other one near the Buena Vista Theatre was open on the sea day) you can register for the game. You just need to pick up a badge, a deck plan and then pick your Game and then follow the instructions to find all the Art. Then when you get to each piece, you hold up your badge and then it will ask you complete different tasks to find a clue. You continue on until you've hit all your spots and have figured out the proper villain.

Not all art pieces will have you do the same thing...it differs for every one and for each game you choose. It was pretty fun for me and I am 38 :rolleyes1 so I can imagine what it's like for kids!!! :yay: I know I've said this a few times already but I can't wait to do this with Kira!!! She will be just shy of 6 when we next sail and it will be the perfect age to enjoy this.

I will say that it takes a lot out of you running to all these places! I did all the aft pieces, then all the mid-ship pieces and I was DONE :faint: This is definitely not something you probably will do in one day but I am sure there are kids who do it

The shopping area was great and very beautiful the way they did it. Make sure you look up in the center part and find your Disney Astrological Sign :thumbsup2

I will go more into detail about shops later...I also have some pics of some of the merchandise so I will write a whole chapter for that ;)

Deck 4 was very similar to the other ships...great comfy blue chairs and nice deck space. It was cool to look up and see the bottoms of the hot tubs :lmao:

I saw quite a few people running/jogging/walking by while I relaxed and I did go all the way around a few times getting some video. The front and back part is all enclosed. no cool ship/naval stuff to see like on the Magic/Wonder, just plain old white bulkheads.

Elevators are also improved on this ship...more of them and they all seem bigger to me. They were very elegant too!

Both Michelle and I noticed the lack of larger floor signs near the stairs/elevators and you really had to know where to look to see what deck you are on. Also, could just be me, but I am sure one of those ship maps on deck 3 (?) was wrong! We looked at it to find something on the first day...went to the deck that it was supposed to be at and it wasn't there....looked at another ship map and it said it was one floor above!

The art around the ship is just stunning! The regular art, that is. There were so many pieces I just wanted to take home with me, like that Wall-E one!!! There's some great photos of Walt (some that I had never seen before!) inside Cove Cafe. If you are a true Disney fan, make sure you drop by and have a look! :thumbsup2

Hmm, can't think of anything else right now...I will cover most stuff in the appropriate upcoming chapters :goodvibes

Hmmm, I didn't see any but I might have been looking at/for something else when I passed it so just because I don't remember seeing any, doesn't mean there isn't any

And it really was fun going 10 times in a row on the Aquaduck! I also loved seeing Cass light up every time she went down. I know she missed her family alot, so I liked seeing her happy!

Definitely a highlight of the trip :goodvibes

Awww, what a great post!!! Wow, your daughter is 6 already  Time sure does fly eh? :rolleyes1 So good to see your post, thanks for all the wonderful words babe

Yeah, I looked into the Ken's sauces/dips and my friend Jenn actually bought me the one you are talking when she was in Disney many years ago (which was so sweet!) but it's not the same kind. Nancy (cntkg1) called them and found out 100% that the one they made for Disney was ONLY made for Disney and wasn't available to the general public. But now that they don't sell it at Disney, maybe we can get it now :cool1: :goodvibes

The good thing is that by the time you have time to catch up, I might be all done :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

And I am soooo not scrapping any of this...I am so behind in my regular scrapping (about 6 years LOL) that I just can't even think about it

The Atrium

I know you've all probably seen tons of photos of the Atrium already but it truly is a thing of beauty and I want to add my photos to this report.

I love this atrium! The chandelier (is that what they call it?) is gorgeous. As much as I love the Magic, I have never been to fond of the flying saucer chandelier in their atrium

ok, sorry Cass - yet another question!:rolleyes1...and I've been meaning to ask you since your first photo...

WHAT TIME WERE YOU UP TO GET PHOTOS OF A COMPLETELY EMPTY LOBBY!!!!:rotfl::worship::worship:

As I was going through your photos of the outside of the shopss I was willing you to go inside... thank goodness you did;)... looking forward to seeing the merchandise and seeing what I can spend my onboard credit on:lmao:

Miscellaneous Bathrooms

I know, it's weird that I took photos of the bathrooms...but if you know me...I'm the bathroom girl ...then you will know why :lmao:

I thought they did a great job with the public washrooms...here are a few...

I have some pics from the ones in the kids clubs/teen club/adult clubs but I will put them in their own chapters :goodvibes

Great stuff, girly!!:thumbsup2:worship:

Can't wait to hear about your cruise and how you liked it :thumbsup2

I love this atrium! The chandelier (is that what they call it?) is gorgeous. As much as I love the Magic, I have never been to fond of the flying saucer chandelier in their atrium

Yeah, this one ROCKS!!!! It's even more impressive in person!! :worship::worship:

LOL! Ummm, think I snuck out the door around 6:20am ;) But most shots of the Atrium were probably closer to 7:30 after the sun came up :goodvibes

OK, fine...I will do the merchandise chapter next :goodvibes I only got a few things...there were so many darn shops! :lmao:

Wow! The food at Palo looks fantastic! I am totally craving pizza and chocolate souffle now! Sorry the waiter sucked. I can't believe he would be talking about you guys so close. Very un-disney!

The AD looks like lots of fun too! What a gorgeous ship! I am so happy that you got to go on it! I love the pictures from early in the morning, when no one was a round. It looks so calm and peaceful and inviting!

Merchandise Part 1

They did a pretty good job with the shops on this ship. I chatted with the CM's there and they told me some horror stories from the Maiden Voyage in regards to people going crazy with the MV merchandise. I guess there were some who just came in the store and just grabbed handfuls of things! She was careful in what she said but I could tell that she was really happy that that cruise was over! She said people were lined up from 2pm for the store's opening at 6pm! :scared1:

I have a story to share about my own experience of when the shops first opened on embarkation day :scared1: but it will have to wait until after Saturday afternoon (for personal reasons) to share it with you, ;)

They also had another smaller store on deck 11 near the midship elevator, called Whozits and Whatzits as well as 2 cute little cart-type shops near the Mickey Pool, called Quacks, that opened up during busy pool times. They sold things like sunscreen, goggles, etc. They were just these little round things ( I had no idea what they were until I saw them opened up on the last day!) most times I passed by :p

I must say though that I was rather disappointed in the Dream merchandise they had. I was able to find a couple shirts I liked but they didn't have much variety, and if you didn't buy on the first night, all they had left were those sizes nobody wants! They never restocked during the cruise (at least not that I saw and I checked every day! ) and I heard a lot of unhappy people! They brought out some (ugly) Maiden Voyage t-shirts on the 2nd day but I think most people agreed with my opinion because they were all still there on the last night  :lmao:

Except for that one store with the Dream stuff, you could pretty much find most of the other merchandise on the Magic/Wonder. They had a lot of higher end stuff like Dooney & Burke bags, jewelry, etc., in one shop and a very small variety of sundries in the shop next to it.

Ok, here's the pics...

Are we sure they were shattered? Could they have been a design feature?

Anyway, Cass - Beyond WONDERFUL trip report! You are making me SO excited for our cruise... in TWO DAYS!!!

Well if they are a design feature, then I think Disney made a bad choice on them... :/

Kids Club Part 1

I can't even begin to tell you how cool the Club and Lab were!! It was our first stop after getting on the ship because I knew it would be the only time I could get photos of it without 6 billion people in them. Plus once there are kids in the clubs, you cannot take photos of them so it was a must :thumbsup2

I love that the club is made up all these little themed rooms because kids (at least my kid) can get bored of things real fast but this way they can move from room to room and have new experiences in each one!

Would you believe that the kids club got FOUR complaints from the Maiden Voyage....all for having TOO much to do :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Here's some pics...sorry they are a little out of order!
