Basking in the Glow of the (not so) Creepy Clown -2/11-Pictures, Final Thoughts, PTR!

I think swimming is a great way to end the night! Look how big and brave Henry is getting!! He looks very tall standing there on the edge of the pool. What a cutie. :)

Let's keep on cruisin'!

The next morning was Thursday, September 9. Our departure day. It had arrived. :sad2: However...ME wasn't scheduled until 4 pm, so we had plenty of time to play!

We woke up that morning, prettied ourselves and headed down to the Boardwalk Bakery to grab a quick breakfast.

We made our choices and walked straight out and made our way over to the Beach Club. We strolled right onto that beautiful white beach and found us some sand chairs.

And there we sat. Enjoying that view and our Boardwalk Bakery items.

I love bagels. Yummmmmmy.

I'm sure we got Henry something as well, but he probably started to eat it on the way over and it wouldn't have been the prettiest thing to photograph....

The breakfast yummies + that view = one awesome way to start your day.

But why were we here, at the Beach Club?

Why, for our photo shoot!

After we filled our bellies we went inside and checked-in with the CMs manning the Photopass booth. We met the CM, whose name escapes me-I want to say Kristen-and we had a short chat about what we wanted in our pictures. I wanted a couple family ones, but mostly Henry, since they were for his 3 year pictures. I asked for more candid type shots with Henry playing in the sand-since he is three, most likely wouldn't pose all that well, and I like pictures that capture an interest/who the person is-and one of his was (and still is) playing in the sand. I knew he would be completely distracted by the sand and wanting to play, so too much posing would just result in him being annoyed and frustrated...and me too. So why set myself up for failure? The CM was very personable and seemed to understand just what we wanted.

We went out to the beach and she started her thing...and the result, here are some of my favorites:

Squinty eyes, but all well! I love those little sandy feet!

And then she wanted to do a few posed ones, she asked him to lay down in the sand...I was certain this was NOT going to work...but...

I was in awe!

Then over by the big ship we "hunted for pirates" by the rocks and grasses.

We were very pleased with the results!!!!

The session outside was about 20 minutes long, and inside she had to download/process the pics/burn them onto a CD, which took about 45 minutes.

While she did that...we browsed the Beach Club gift shop, but didn't make any purchases. Henry loves Disney gift shops, so many toys and many of them aren't in boxes!

Eventually our pictures were done, we received them all on our Photopass Card, so we could add borders if we wanted, and also on a regular CD without the borders, and a copyright to them so we could get them printed.

The photo session is normally right around $100 I believe - and I would say it's worth it. We would end up spending about that much at any portrait studio anyway on Henry's 3 year pictures, and this way we have rights to the images...and they are at Disney World! We had a wonderful time with the CM, and love the results.

So cute!

My kids still talk about the pool at CBR - even though they hated the hotel room. After we checked in they asked where the rest of our hotel was! :rotfl: But they certainly loved the pool slide! Unfortunately there isn't a decent slide at Vistana... great pools but no slides! We may have to try out a new resort next time around. :confused3

CBR has the pirate pool, right? It looks incredible! I can see why they loved it!

That stinks about there being no slide at Vistana! It sounds like such a wonderful place aside from that.

What a great way to end to a day and a trip.

I never did go down the slide when we stayed at the Boardwalk. Must correct that some day.

It really was!! If I were on my own I would have been running wild in the parks, but Joe (and Henry) make me slow down - and I'm glad!

The Kiester Koaster is fun! It's pretty quick!!!

I think swimming is a great way to end the night! Look how big and brave Henry is getting!! He looks very tall standing there on the edge of the pool. What a cutie. :)

Doesn't he? I was happy he was being brave, since he's overall fairly timid, so I tried to bite my tongue each time he jumped off the side. And I made Joe always catch him, I was too chicken!

:cool1::banana::cool1: for being in the teens! So very exciting! I know I'm excited...:rolleyes1 The Boardwalk is really so beautiful. Would definitely be my first choice for an EPCOT resort, should we ever be fortunate enough to make some of our other deluxe dreams come true first. And, hey, clowns don't bother me at all, so I'm all set!

What gorgeous pictures from the photo shoot. What a super cool thing to win! :thumbsup2 Henry really is so adorable and very photogenic.

I'm glad to hear Max isn't the only little kid who enjoys going back and forth between pools. Max is famous for that. But I suppose that indecisiveness is pretty much normal for the three year old set.

I am just so excited that we are both so close to our trips! :yay:

Your last two posts have made me add some things to my bucket list (Disney version)

1. I will one day stay at Boardwalk and slide right out of George's mouth into that pool.

2. I will walk down from my room and grab breakfast at Boardwalk Bakery.

3. When I accomplish #2 I will enjoy it on the Beach Club beach!

The pics of Henry are fabulous!

One thing I meant to mention above was that my Mom called me today....

from the Nemo show at AK!!!!!!!!!!!

I was instantly jealous.

She and her boyfriend, and their friends (the husband of the friends works at Disney, so yes-they all got in free...jealous again!) had already gotten FOTLK, the Safari, lunch at Flame Tree and one of the animal trails done--and it was only 1:30!

I spoke to her again tonight and she said they had an awesome time, she loved AK and couldn't get over how it felt like a whole different world-she forgot she was in Florida!

I'm so happy that she is lovin' Disney and getting hooked. More than once I have suggested she get a part-time job there...:rolleyes1 :teeth:

You are even closer than I am! I bet you are dancing in your chair!!!

The Boardwalk is awesome, I just love that resort and everything about it! I am so thankful we were able to stay there, and I can't wait to see it again so soon!

Oh that indecisiveness at this age. It's so fun, isn't it? :headache:

And I will read your TR all about those three things with a big smile on my face knowing you are accomplishing several of your Disney Bucket List items!

The Boardwalk is such a wonderful resort, you will love it! I took so many pictures of the view over from the Beach Club, it's ridiculous. Nothing could quite capture it's beauty.

And eating breakfast on the beach in a sand chair was a GREAT way to start the morning. It could easily be followed up by a stroll over to Epcot, or hopping on the boat over to DHS. :cloud9:

Thank you on the compliment on the pictures. We were very pleased! She got just what I wanted and I had a few I really liked to choose the prints from.

Between your beachy breakfast and Cynthia's balcony relaxathons, I think you ladies have the way-to-vacation down! :thumbsup2 Had me some moments like that too, and I can say without a doubt, THOSE are what it's all about!

My favorite pic is Henry dumping the sand out. But then again, I"m a sucker for a little action in the shot. :thumbsup2

Ending a Disney day with pool time, a nice shower, and bed - so nice!
Starting a Disney day with bakery treats and a pretty beach view is just as nice.
To me, those non-park/hanging out times can be some of the most treasured ones of a trip. :)

You got some great photo shoot pictures. :thumbsup2

As I sit here under my two blankets, about to get ready to go out and drive on the black ice the weather has caused, your pictures are a reminder that there will be warmth again soon!

Glad you enjoyed him but I had NO idea George glowed at night :scared1: Now he creeps me out even more!!

Your photo session turned out great! Good for you for asking the photographer to go with the flow with Henry. You got some really cute ones :goodvibes

Hi Brooke,
My sister would have been terrified of the clown pool she hates clowns! So what do I do every year for her B-day?? Send her a clown card! :rotfl: I'm so nice aren't I?? ;)

And I LOVE this top! So cute!

There really is something wonderful about actual relaxing on vacation, isn't there? I truly look forward to plenty of that time on this trip! We'll be hitting that same beach more than once on this upcoming trip. Henry reminds me, almost daily, to bring his sand toys.

That is one of my favorites too - I'm all about the action shots! We just ordered a print of that one for a frame in the house. It really shows who he was/is at the moment and what he was into.

I agree! In the moment I always want to run into the parks, but thankfully I have Joe and Henry to slow me down and realize how wonderful time outside the parks can be. He's slowly converted me to the point where this next entire trip is very loosely planned---and mostly planned around things OUTSIDE the parks!

I'm so glad my pictures provided a nice reminder, and hopefully a smile, on this cold morning. Palm trees, warm sun, sandy beaches....

The photo shoot was awesome! What great memories!

Thank you! We really enjoyed the time and are very happy with the results!

Isn't that just WEIRD?! I didn't realize he glowed at night until I was researching the Beach Club just before we went on our trip. I was shocked! So many people have clown fears, yet they make it even worse with the crazy eyes and them glowing! :confused3 It's so odd! Yet, I am strangely drawn to it....and I like it because it's so weird!

And I LOVE this top! So cute!

:lmao: That's hilarous! And just what a sister should do! ;) I'm sure she hates opening it every year, yet feels she has to...I can just picture her holding the envelope at an arm's length, slowly opening it and then throwing it. :rotfl: Probably overdramatic, but makes me laugh!

Isn't that a cute top? I realized I have several pictures of it, in various colors, from throughout our stay!

I like this one too!

:rotfl2: I like your comparison to "Being John Malkovich"! Totally creepy, yet interesting as well.... I wanted to show the background and how eating breakfast right there was so, so, so wonderful. Except it was HOT. I remember trying to drink coffee and just dying from the heat. This trip it should be more enjoyable and I think breakfast on the beach might have to be repeated at least once....:thumbsup2

I really like both of those as well! I was shocked at the magic the CM worked with getting Henry to pose in the sand on his belly!

...next thing you'll tell us was that she ate at Boma - for FREE!!! :badpc: [ ...and YOU know what THAT means: an endless supply of ZD's! :scared1: ]

Brooke, those are GREAT pictures!!!
I love the one where y'all are swinging Henry. And, my favorite is the one of Henry lying on the sand. Too precious!!!!

I'm glad your mom is having a great vacation, I would be jealous too :goodvibes
