Just got off the ship today. :( This is what I was told & saw over the past week.

Captain John is onboard now.

Peter is the cruise director. I thought he was friendly enough. No one can top Christian or Brent but Peter was always around the ship talking to guests. Brent is on the Dream helping Rachel get things settled ...and I was told it is also so that he will know how to do things on the Fantasy.

Clayton will be going on the Wonder to help start the Alaskan cruises with Christian since he has worked in that area before and knows it well.

Sasha is no longer in Palo. He was on the PLA rotation this week training to be a head server. I did find him to say hello. He will be on the Magic through April and will be going to the Dream after his two month break. PJ is currently on vacation and will be returning to the Magic. He left two weeks ago so will be back in six weeks from today.

Liam and McLean are currently on the Magic.

Anne Marie told me that I could post Palo will be getting a complete "botox" treatment in two weeks including new decor, china and menu.

The luggage area was completely open today but it was still a bit backed up to get off the ship. I think that could be due to the fact that now the porters have to go much further than when you just parked outside the terminal and walked a few feet to your car?

We were told conflicting things when we arrived at the port regarding where to park. We didn't find out until we were already in the lot that the porters do NOT go there to help you so we had to drive back around and drop off our luggage at the curb so be sure to do that first if you are parking at the port.

The inside of the ship looked the same to us with no smells or buckets anywhere. All CMs we encountered were friendly and helpful. There were many extra servers in the dining room but that didn't make our experience any worse and ours were good. They weren't the best we have had [Marco as assistant in 2005] but they also weren't the worst. There are new menus for pirate night and a couple others with some items missing. I took pictures of most so will post later after I can go through all of the pics.

Thanks for the update!:thanks: We had CD Christian in 2007on the Wonder and I thought he was awesome! This is our first "Magic" Cruise, maybe Brent will "relax" in his new position after a few weeks!

Peter was our cruise director in the Baltic on the Magic this past summer. I liked him.

I also noticed that the aft deck on deck 7 was locked and the hours sign was taken down from the door. That was a little disappointing but a small change I noticed last week.

How many of the Magic crew ended up going to the Dream? I'm wondering if I should request the server we had on our first cruise but I don't know if he's still on the Magic.

We were in cabin 7134 right by the deck 7 aft deck last week. It was closed early in the week for a wedding but was open later in the week. However, the lounge chairs had been removed and not returned. However, by then the weather had turned cooler and I found it more comfortable to either stay on my veranda or on Deck 9 shielded by the plexiglass windows.

Hi, could you tell me if you liked 7134? was it in good condition etc? Is the veranda larger than standard? Sorry to jump into this thread but we have this room booked for a med cruise and there are no recent room reports. Thanks, Joy.

Sent you a PM so as not to hijack the thread. We liked the room and would book it again.

We just got off the Magic as well on Saturday. The line ups for non U.S. residents getting of the ship was the worst the porters and the limo services had seen in over a decade! We waited over 2 hours and the line was still backed WAY back for at least another 1 hour or more. We were quite shocked as it was never that bad before. We have always had the 8:00 a.m. breakfast and were off probably by around 9:30 the lastest.

Our rooms were 2611, 2605 and 2603 and they were just great! No complaints at all.

The only thing that we all decided is that it was nice to see the Western Carribean, but we all much preferred the Eastern side and booked accordingly for next year.

We also prefer the eastern but the prices and dates keep us with the western.

Here are the pirate menus.

Deck 2 is fine. The teen area is midship, as high up as you can go. The kid areas are on deck 5. Only the tween area is on deck 2. (where the old library turned conference room was). While I'm sure it depends somewhat on the CMs, I didn't hear them or have any issues on my September/October 2010 cruise. I did hear some guests complaining about the music, but I never heard it. Of course, I was not right at the entrance either, but was still midship!
