Got booked for Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim but...

...something is screwy :confused3

I tried to book my DD17 and her BFF17 on Dolphin Swim and my Mom and I on Observer excursions, but would not let me book the girls for the swim unless there was an adult on the reservation. As far as I understand it there only needs to be an adult booked as an observer when a 17yr old is booked for the swim. What am I doing wrong. I don't want to start over, and risk losing it all together so how do I fix it now?? So far the four of us are all booked for the swim, but we absolutely need to change this. Anyone else have this happen to them? What did you do to correct it? Any advice from seasoned cruisers would be most appreciated. TYIA :worship:

The blue lagoon dolphin encounter website confirms what you thought. You need to be there to sign a waiver but not be in the water. I would leave it how you have it and call dcl for help

Thank you for your reply. I do intend to keep it that way for now, and will call DCL in the AM. My mom will not go into water above her waist, so the swim is absolutely not an option for her. I cannot risk cancelling and rebooking, for fear of losing out on the excursion for my DD and her friend. The only reason she is even looking forward to this particular itinerary is the opportunity to do the Swim in Nassau. If it isnt Nassau then our only other alternative would be Discovery Cove, because as she indicated when we first started planning our trip, that she is NOT leaving to come home til she swims with the dolphins somewhere, somehow...

Wow is all I can say!

I called DCL, to attempt to correct the situation. Initially, when I explained what had occurred, she looked up the Swim on her end and told me that according to what she sees on her end anyone up to 17 had to be accompanied by an adult on the SWIM. I asked if this was a recent change, then pointed out that this was a contradiction to both the DCL site, as well as the Blue Lagoon site.

After reading other threads yesterday about peoples' issues with the DCL website, and the difficulties they were experiencing with trying to get them resolved, I guess I was kind of prepared to have to go into battle to resolve mine as well. (esp since at first she seemed a little confrontational) Well, was I wrong...she immediately said she would have to check with a supervisor, and by the time she came back on the phone less than 2 minutes later, she had already made the adjustment to reflect what we wanted to begin with, and apologized for the mix up. Kudos to Elaine at DCL!!! You are my DD's new "best friend" :worship:

I was logged into my reservation while on the phone and once I refreshed the page...there it was, my confirmed activities ready to print, which I will definitely be sure to do now after reading the thread below. :scared1:

Cool!! What area of MB do you live in? We are very close to the MB/ SK border on the Trans Canada. We have had about enough snow too, but I think overall we have had a fairly good winter (no -50 windchills yet :rolleyes1), and by the time we return from our vacation the first week of April it will be Spring (or so we hope)

Yes I suppose we could have had a colder winter ( and it's not to late) but it sure has been a snowy one!

Our cruise is in less than a month so we are unpacking our summer clothes and counting down the days :cheer2:

We live in Winnipeg. Enjoy your cruise. Blue Lagoon is beautiful!

We too used to live in Winnipeg, for 10 yrs, but moved back to small town MB to my hometown when my oldest was starting kinder. You guys have definitely had alot harsher winter as far as snow is concerned. We have been lucky that a few of the major storms have managed to travel around us. We are definitely looking forward to our trip as well...including six days in Orlando prior to our sailing. Cant wait to hear how your cruise goes, complete with pics of course. Happy Sailing :)
