If I book a Blue Lagoon dolphin swim directly......

If I book a Blue Lagoon dolphin swim directly, instead of through Disney Cruise Lines, does it complicate things? Will I still be able to easily get to the locations where I get on the boat to Blue Lagoon, etc.?

Can I even book it directly, or do they not let you if you are on a Disney cruise? I think I've seen some posts implying that if they know you are on a Disney cruise, they won't book you. Can you just not mention it to them?

It's not a huge savings on the dolphin swim---only $30 for two people, but still....

Thanks!

If they know you are on dcl they will not let you book.
When you arrive at the island they will ask you where you are staying or what ship you are on.
If you book with dcl blue lagoon staff meet you and escort you to a nearby dock to the catamaran to the island. All the blue lagoon excursions go over together.
This is not the same dock that is used for private bookings so you would have to make your way to the standard dock. I beleive it's near Atlantis
I would go with dcl:thumbsup2

Also if for some reason the ship doesn't get into port on time or at all and you don't book wtih DCL they don't have to refund anything where if you book via DCL then you will get a refund for that excusion if you are unable to go on it. Make it SOOOO much better cause you never know about the weather.

Hoping you can help with my dilemna which I posted on another thread...

...something is screwy

I tried to book my DD17 and her BFF17 on Dolphin Swim and my Mom and I on Observer excursions, but would not let me book the girls for the swim unless there was an adult on the reservation. As far as I understand it there only needs to be an adult booked as an observer when a 17yr old is booked for the swim. What am I doing wrong. I don't want to start over, and risk losing it all together so how do I fix it now?? So far the four of us are all booked for the swim, but we absolutely need to change this. Anyone else have this happen to them? What did you do to correct it? Any advice from seasoned cruisers would be most appreciated. TYIA

This did happen to us. I couldn't book my kids on the dolphin swim without me booking as a swimmer even though my Mom from another cabin was their "adult". I called the 1-800 number listed somewhere on the DCL reservation and got help with "on line excursion booking". They cleared it right up-changed me to an observer.
