OK so me and my fiance will be having a wedding 2/29/2012 in our hometown. But we are HOPING to have a DW honeymoon! We wont have much money cuz we are paying for everything ourselves!! This will also be our first times to DW!! I need help in how to add a lil bit of disney into our home wedding, how the weather and crowds will be the begining of march. will it be warm enough to swim and everything?? What would be the best place to stay for small amount of money but fancy, for like a week? best places to see fireworks! I really need info on EVERYTHING!! and would it be 2 much to go to univeral studios 2??
Hey! Congrats on your wedding! I may not be able to answer all of your questions but I can sure answer a few.
There are lots of ways you can incorporate Disney into your home wedding, like using Disney music, having a Disney-themed cake, putting hidden Mickeys on things, just to name a few. I'm sure other people will have loads more ideas though.
As far as the weather in March, it's really hard to say because the weather here between Jan-March is a little unpredictable and it fluctuates a lot. It can be warm one week and the next it's really cold. March will be a bit warmer than Jan. and Feb. but it could still get a little chilly, and there may be rain, or there might not be. It's really tough to say. The crowds should be fairly reasonable and not too packed since you're going the first week of March. It's just before Spring Break so you should be fine. As for swimming, I guess it depends on what your tolerance level is. I was just a POR having lunch on Sunday and we walked over to the pool and there were LOTS of people swimming...and it was about 60 degrees outside! Now for me, that's way too cold for swimming, but like I said, it depends on what you think is "warm" and "cold".
As for hotels, you might want to look into the Value hotels (All-Star Movies, All-Star Sports, All-Star Music, and Pop Century), they have deals during certain times of the year where you can get a room for less than $100 per night. The moderate resorts are not bad either.
The parks that have the best fireworks are the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios doesn't really have fireworks but their show at the end of the night (Fantasmic) is so awesome! It's my favorite after the Wishes fireworks at MK.
I'm not sure I can answer your question about Universal Studios, as I don't know what kind of budget you are on, so it would really depend on if you can fit it into your budget. I do know that you can do both parks at US in 1 day, and right now the tickets for a 1 day, 2 park pass is $112 per person, and a 1 day, 1 park pass is $82 per person. It will probably go up a few dollars by your wedding. Plus the cost of food and souvenirs, all which are around the same prices as Disney.
You should keep an eye out from now until then for discounts for the hotels, they usually release some kind of promotion closer to their booking dates, and the have a meal plan promotion that they do too (somebody else will have to give you better details on that).
Hope all this helps, and good luck and congrats again!
