Visiting Every Potty and Trash Can in the World...First Trip Home to BLT, Dec 4-11th!

another great update! So cute about Will finding Push. My kids love Push too! Last time Push asked my son if he was done with his drink. My son told him yes and Push asked him to put the cup in his mouth. As soon as my son dropped the drink in Push started to make eating sounds "ummm, num num num, ah! that's tasty, thank you!" So cute!!
We even got to meet Push's sister or cousin "Pippa" at Animal Kingdom. I love that everything is magical at Disney...even the trash cans!:lmao:

Great updates! I love that Will got to meet and interact with PUSH! The "pooh" joke is too funny! :rotfl2:
i know, i was taken aback at first when he told it, but then i laughed! lol

That is great that you got that many rides done before 3pm!!!

When we saw Push I looked and looked for the CM that was controlling him but I couldn't figure out who it was and it was driving me CRAZY
it was so obvious who he was, he was close enough to see the birthday button and my son's name on it. i should have taken a pic of him, but i didn't. duh! he was standing just a few feet away. the kids were oblivious and i guess that is all that matters! I know it is hard to catch PUSH, he has set times, but the place can vary, so i was lucky we ran into him!

thanks! too cute on PUSH making eating sounds. LOL! love it. I haven't seen Pippa yet, but i have heard about her. Where did you see her- i think i read at the entrance gates maybe is where she hangs out?

Another great update! It just cracks me up how excited Will gets about garbage cans!!! I love it!

You guys sure did cram a lot in before 3:00! That is impressive! It looked like Lindsey was having a great time! You guys are wonderful for taking her along! As for your MIL and Lindsey sharing the same stall....ummm....ok....:confused3 That is a bit strange.

Once again, I can't wait for you next update!

Sunday, December 5th, PART III:santa:

After a nice nap for Will and break for the rest of us, we head to our evening park of choice, Hollywood Studios. The original plan was to head to HS by 4:30pm, but since we had gotten back so late for our break, we got to the HS much later. I knew MIL and Lindsey needed rest too- you could tell they were not used to our commando pace. So they laid down too for a bit while I typed up the first day’s trip notes and tried to get on FB, for some reason my phone suddenly wouldn’t open FB, so I had to resync and mess with it for hours.

We had dinner reservations for Sci Fi for 7:45pm, so I knew we needed to head out by 6 at least if not sooner, especially if we wanted to do anything before dinner. So I think we finally were all ready to go about 5:45pm or so. MIL and Lindsey just left their beds out the entire time- it was just easier that way since we had naps each day. It was nice having enough room to do so. But it meant we had no couch to sit on either (MILs bed), so we often would just hang out in the breakfast nook area which I loved.

So out the door to the car and we drive over to HS. We get a decent parking spot and head in. It is pretty cold now. I get a quick shot of the tree:
ry%3D400

We head in and I remember to go to guest services first for our TIW card finally. Pay the $75 and we are outta there! We stop in Sid Chauenga’s next to guest services where we look at the posters and stuff. MIL wants to get something for her stepdad, and sees a John Wayne thing there. So we vow to come back and buy it. Next, we check out ToT and there is only like a 15 minute wait, so we do it. MIL passes and stays outside with Will. I always forget there is a nice seating area inside where the pics are, instead she sat outside. We get on pretty quickly and Lindsey loves it. I love how each ride is unique and you never know how many drops you will get. RnR has a huge wait, so we skip it, we don’t have time before dinner anyhow. We make our way towards the main street and look in a few shops before heading over towards Sci Fi. We stop and get a few pics on the star speeder first……….Even Alan poses……he hates pictures, but loves Star Wars!
ry%3D400

I checked in at Sci Fi, expecting a really long wait, but it wasn’t bad at all. It seems even with an ADR, we wait forever at Sci Fi. I don’t particularly love their food, but Alan and I are both Sci Fi nerds, so we love the atmosphere and it brings back memories of the old drive in movies. I remember my parents taking us to see Indiana Jones at the drive in our station wagon. So we are seated in our ‘car’. Alan, Will and I in the front seat and Lindsey/MIL in the middle. A nice couple sat behind us in the third row.

I ordered the BLT soup, which is pretty good and then a burger/fries for dinner. I ordered extra pickles and Will went crazy eating those. We just get an extra plate and have Will share with us. Alan gets the grilled chicken sandwich I think. He’s healthy like that sometimes (sick, I know). I can’t remember what MIL got, but something small, I think an appetizer or salad! Lindsey had a kids pizza I believe. No dessert here tonight. We used our TIW card for the first time to save our 20%! Woo hoo, finally! We really enjoyed the classic “B” movies and I love the old snack bar commercials. We have eaten here our last 3 or 4 trips, so I think next time it is off the list for a while. We only went this time because Alan really wanted to let his mom experience the atmosphere and she enjoyed it and remembered a lot of the movies.

After dinner, it was time for the Osborne lights. I think it was close to 9:15 or so at this point. The park officially closed at 9pm tonight, but it was EMH night. I don’t typically do a lot of EMH nights usually, but we did this trip. We usually do a lot of EMH mornings, but did not do one this trip- it just didn’t work with our schedule for some reason, plus I worried about making MIL and Lindsey get up too early. When it is just us next October, we will definitely do morning EMH, I love morning EMH!!! You get so much done in that one hour and we usually leave the EMH am park by 11 or noon anyhow for a break. Alan is an early riser, so he doesn’t mind getting up. I hate getting up, but it isn’t so bad at Disney! Funny how that works.
So we purposely waited to see the Osborne Lights until late. I know how crowded it is right at dusk when they switch them on. Last year, we saw how crazy the crowds were early and so I wanted to avoid that. Glad we waited, it wasn’t that crowded and we were able to stroll around without being shoulder to shoulder with crowds. Will loved catching snow again and MIL and Lindsey were in awe. Seeing Christmas lights at home simply can’t compare once you’ve seen these. I am totally spoiled on lights now.

Lindsey and I had fun finding all the hidden mickeys. She was pretty good at it. We didn’t hear the Phineas and Ferb thing though. I totally forgot about it until we had left. Oh well.
ry%3D400

After the lights, we walked out and ended up back by Pixar Place. We walked by Walt’s story and went in to see the exhibit. It was hard to do since Will was pretty tired and strollers weren’t allowed. He was running wild. We skipped the movie this time since we had bad timing and it was a wait of like 15 minutes to catch the next one or something. It is a very good little movie though, made me cry last time. I love all the history of how WDW came to be and learning about Walt’s life.

So we exited and headed towards the Animation area, I heard there was a ‘dance party’ after hours for EMH at the playhouse Disney venue. We went in and it was pretty crowded, but Goofy and others were dancing around- including Mickey and Minnie with guests. You couldn’t stop and get a picture or anything or autographs and Will didn’t understand that. He kept wanting to go up to them and hug them, but they were dancing and obviously couldn’t see this little toddler right under them. So we got out of there.

Next, went and did the Great Movie Ride, there was no wait at all, we got right on. We had the gangster side and really enjoyed it. I actually do like this ride, although I guess it could use an update now. By now, we were pretty tired. I think it was about 11pm or later. And it was getting really cold now. We stopped at the bathroom…..again. And got some water and then headed out. It was almost empty on our way out.
ry%3D400

I felt like we hadn’t done much at HS, but oh well. We had another half day planned here later on with a morning start so we could tackle TSM and hopefully RnR and do ToT again. My cousin, like a second mom, wanted all of the ToT bathroom stuff- the little bell for the counter, the towel etc. We were in WDW last December when she saw them, but didn’t buy them. So she planned to get them in DL in September on our girls trip and they didn’t carry them DL! Bummer. So I knew I had to come back to ToT again to buy all of that for her. Plus it is one of my faves!

So we said good night to HS and walked back to the car, tired and cold. We get back to our lovely home at BLT and pass out. Until tomorrow…………………….when it is AK day! Bring on the animals!

I figured a way to get some of my PP pics, we only had a handful- but here is one of my favorites- that I actually ordered! as mentioned, DH is not a big picture taker, he hates having his photo taken and getting him to smile for it is HUGE!

I love your pics of the lights! I think I only managed to take about 4 or 5! I really wish we would have spent more time there :sad1: We spent most of our time waiting in the PP line in front of the big tree (and didn't even end up getting good pics!). By the time we were done with that it was freezing and late so we just left. Oh well, that is a good excuse to go back next year!

That is a great pic of the 3 of you! You all look really nice! Our DHs sound just alike! Toby can't stand having his picture taken! I had to have a talk with him before the trip and tell him that he needed to suck it up because I would be taking a lot of pictures and since I bought the PP CD, I wanted my money's worth (and nice family pictures)!

What are your October dates? We are debating when to take our "big" trip of the year this year. We are thinking either October or November.

ah, sorry you didn't get to see as much of the lights as you wanted. I feel we really have done them now- we saw them twice on our Dec 2009 trip and now on this trip, so we have our fill now!

Our October dates are 15-22nd. I wanted to avoid Columbus day weekend (falls on Monday, Oct 11th). so we still might have some crowds on the 15th when we come in, but should be good after that. We want to do F&W and MNSSHP too. Plus, we want to do these 'off times' while we still can while Will is not in school yet.

I will do more PP pics next trip, since it is just the 3 of us, we will have to if we want any good family pics! DH will have to suck it up too. :rotfl: what is it with them not liking the pics? I hate having mine taken sometimes too, but not as bad as he does.

I think we might just take a little weekend trip next December and do MVMCP one night and the lights the other night.

I totally agree with going during the off times while you still can! I think that is probably what we will do as well.

I really don't understand what the big deal with pictures is? :confused3 I'm not a huge fan of pictures either, but I know I will regret it later if there are no pictures of me and Olivia!

We like eating at Sci-Fi a lot too for some reason! Like you said, not the best food on property by any means, but just a fun place to eat. And I'd rather eat a burger there than at any of the CS places in DHS. We don't mind the pizza at Pizza Planet, but the food in DHS overall is pretty slim pickin's!

LOVE the Osborne Lights pics! I absolutely can't wait to get back there this year, and I have all my fingers & toes crossed that the lights are up when we go. That was one of my FAVORITE things from our '09 trip, and I think DS would just love them!

:thumbsup2 Great installment!

Great pictures from Hollywood Studios! I'm glad everyone liked the lights.

Sci Fi is such a fun place to eat and it's so fun to take "1st timers" there. It's another one of those unique Disney experiences.

You guys looked so chilly. I'm glad you were bundled up. I hope it wasn't too cold!

Are the lights not amazing!!!! They just completely blew us away!!! That is how we ended each of our nights in HS. We couldn't get enough and really had no interests in going to see any of the lights once we got home. We are ruined for life! :rotfl:

yeah, we got a lot in! that's for sure. We were so happy we could take Lindsey along. We took her brother (now 14) to the beach with us for a week (gulf of mexico near Corpus Christi) a few years ago. so it was her turn for something. Neither of the kids get to do much like that and live in a tiny town. So we were excited to be able to take her. We ended up paying for her park hopper and all her food and her MVMCP ticket. they paid for her flight.

I think we might just take a little weekend trip next December and do MVMCP one night and the lights the other night.

yeah, we just love the atmosphere of Sci Fi. We will skip it this next time around though and go for some new places since it is just us 3 in October. But the burger is better than quick service and you are right, they are way lacking in food at HS.

when are you guys going again next year, date wise? I forget how early the lights go up.

definitely a unique disney experience. It was so cold. i was shocked how cold it was, luckily we had read up on the weather before leaving, so were prepared. i almost didn't bring my coat, but so glad i did.

I know, it is sort of a bummer, but all lights are ruined for us now too! We even did this cute drive through light thing near my MIL's house in Oklahoma- even set to music, but as cool as it was, the Osborne lights are just so much better!

Monday, December 6th

This is the one day I have ZERO trip notes for. Oh well. So going off memory of over a month ago and my original schedule notes. Bear with me and let’s hope it is right. Looking at my pics for reference too. J

Today’s plan was to head to Epcot for opening. We don’t always make the actual rope drop, but we are usually there right after. However, my MIL was taking forever to get ready again, so we were all ready and dressed, eating breakfast and waiting at the table. I was hoping to leave by 8:30am to head to Epcot, but it was closer to almost 9am by the time we left. So we take the monorail, which takes more time with the switch at the TTC and all. We finally make it over, get through security and in the gates. I am trying to make them move fast, as I know how quickly the lines and FP at Soarin go. We do stop to see how long the lines is at the character spot, and it is pretty long, so we keep going. MIL and Lindsey decide they want to check out the line and maybe wait for characters. So the rest of us head to Soarin to get FPs. I go down and grab them while Alan and Will wait and we head back. I can’t remember what time the fastpasses were for, but I think it was like 2 hours from then.

As we are walking back towards the character connection area, we see MIL and Lindsey, they said the line was way too long……yep………see what happens when you don’t get there early!!??? LOL. Anyhow- we happen to catch the Jammitors.
ry%3D400

Another trash can success! This was also on my list of to-do’s if we could find them. So it was fun to see them play. Will loved it and got a JR Jammitors sticker too. We really had fun stopping to take in entertainment this time and I hope to do more of it next trip too.
ry%3D400

So after watching the Jammitors wrap up, we decide to head into the Seas with Nemo. We walk by the ‘mine, mine, mine’ birds, love them and park the stroller. In we go and have no line at all for the ride. Cute ride, better than the old one at least. DH and I rode this last time and waited almost 20 minutes for it (so not worth 20 min wait), so glad it was a walk on. However, it was so dark in there and Will was going a little too fast through the line and couldn’t see and ran smack dab into the bar with his head. Poor thing- really got a nice bump on his head.

After the ride, we see that Turtle Talk with Crush was about to start in like 10 minutes, so we get in line. Alan sat out, he didn’t care to do it. I sat on the floor with Lindsey and Will and they enjoyed it. She raised her hand to participate, but the girl next to her got picked instead. I’ve done this like 3x now so I think we can skip it next trip. We then spent some time exploring all the exhibits and saw the dolphins too. Lindsey even spotted another hidden mickey.
ry%3D400

We really enjoyed seeing all the marine life in the main aquarium. Apparently while we were in Turtle Talk, Alan saw a diver go up the main shaft thing too. I’ve yet to actually see that.
ry%3D400

After visiting the seas, we decided to go ahead and use our Soarin FP. So park the stroller again and head in. We weren’t sure if Will would measure up or not. We hadn’t measured him at home lately, but at his 3yo checkup on October 30th, he was 38.75 without shoes. Alan was carrying Will at the time when we went up to hand in our FPs and the CM didn’t blink an eye and we all walked in together. Woo hoo- score! Didn’t even stop to measure him- I guess since Alan was carrying him and he just looked tall- who knows. Or maybe the CM was just busy and distracted. Plus we just walked up with ‘authority’, we didn’t look all ‘iffy’ or uncertain, we walked up like we knew he was tall enough, I think that helped. The FP line still took us awhile to get through though, as it always does on Soarin. So we waited 15-20 minutes anyhow. As we got through to the next checkpoint, where the line splits into two, the CM there almost stopped us I think, but we had kept walking and she never called us back to measure. There was more stop before getting lined up into the rows and we saw the measuring stick there, but that CM didn’t stop us either. So we were good. As we learned later in the trip, Will was just at 40” in his tennis shoes, so we would have been okay.

We boarded Soarin and had a great ride. Will loved it and MIL and Lindsey really enjoyed it! It is a favorite of mine and I of course love the soundtrack. Listening to it all the time on my iPod or live365 radio. Plus, who doesn’t love ‘Puddy’ from Seinfeld on the intro? We got third row unfortunately, so had feet hanging in front of us, but oh well.

After Soarin through the sky, we headed out and went towards Journey into Imagination. Of course we needed a potty break first. Surprisingly, there was like a 5 minute wait for the ride. I’ve always walked on this one. We did our quick ride with figment and left. I was sad to see all the exhibits closed except for the little musical one where you conduct the music and the little lights with squares the kids jump on to make sounds. Everything else was closed. My old roomie used to work here as a contractor for Kodak for about 3-4 years. She wore the white lab coat and did the little ‘skit’ they do for Kodak as you first exit the ride. Their contract was ended late in 2010 though and she has since signed a new contract doing entertainment in the Italy pavilion instead. So I missed seeing her here. I remember as a kid, this area used to be great- in fact, does anyone remember when you could go upstairs? They had tons of exhibits upstairs too- I remember a green screen thing too where you became part of a little movie- we loved doing that. I swear we spent hours in the exhibits area as kids (late 80s, early 90s). And they also had a huge display of photographs upstairs too you could go look at (like a photo competition or gallery).

So after figment, we were pretty hungry. It was probably well after noon now or 12:30 or so. We headed towards the World Showcase to seek out the bakery in France for some lunch. But before we got to the bakery, Lindsey saw Marie. I don’t think she knew who Marie was, but she wanted an autograph. Marie was very sweet and we got a cute pic.
ry%3D400

You will see in the pic Lindsey is wearing her new peace/love mickey hat. It was that cold- to necessitate hat and gloves, especially since I was pushing the stroller and couldn’t put my hands in my pockets.

Then onto the bakery. The line was out the door. And man was it cold outside today. MIL and Lindsey went to look in the store with Will and find the bathroom while Alan and I waited in line. It moved fairly quickly at least. I got my favorite- a ham and cheese croissant and chocolate mousse. Alan got a chocolate éclair and coffee. We got Will this pizza bread that he ended up loving. We also got something for Lindsey/MIL to share, I think it was also a ham/cheese croissant, but can’t remember.

Originally, I was thinking we could take our food and walk towards the USA pavilion and sit inside there to eat since it was so cold outside. But once we got out, MIL had scored a table in the little street there, and it was in the sun. So we managed, at least in the sun it was warmer. My croissant was awesome as usual and Lindsey really enjoyed it too, a first time try for her as well. Will loved his pizza bread as well- it was heavy garlic, but he loved it and finished the whole thing.
ry%3D400

We had a nice little lunch and headed off to explore Morocco. I love seeing all the nooks and crannies here and we checked out all the stores too- I think MIL even bought something. Alan commented how the quick service dining option here looked good so we might have to try it next time.
ry%3D400

We next headed to Japan and our goal was pick a pearl! We went in the department store, which I love….and I got us a number and we watched the end of one lady doing hers and then it was our turn! I had read to pick the ugliest one and you will get a nice pearl, so I did.
ry%3D400

We each picked one. We enjoyed the fanfare around opening them too. Mine turned out to be the biggest of the day so far, at 8.25. MILs was 7.25 and Lindsey’s was 7.5.
ry%3D400

I had ordered the Cinderella cage necklaces on ebay prior to the trip and gave those to them. Unfortunately my pearl was too big for the cage, so I’ll have to find a way to mount it later. I might even take it back in October and have it mounted on a ring or something then.

You can find them here:

We really had fun doing pick a pearl and I highly recommend it here! We then took our time exploring the store some. They have such neat items in there. A few years ago, Alan and I bought his mom a little snack/candy from each country in World Showcase as a souvenir. We got her this awful dried shrimp snack in Japan there. So we all had a good laugh looking at the interesting pre packaged snacks. By the time we finished Japan, I knew we had to really get moving faster if we wanted to take a decent break. We had ADRs for dinner at O’hana at 5pm.

So we rushed through the USA and didn’t stop there. I love hearing the Voices of Liberty, but we missed the American Adventure this time. So it is on the list for next year! We also rushed through the rest of the countries without really stopping much. We did stop briefly to peek in Caramel Kruche, but the line was out the door. I had read AP holders got a free bag of caramel corn, but we decided to come back later in the trip.

We stopped and got a quick drink/coke at the refreshment port/Africa before making our way back around China, Norway and Mexico. We really didn’t have time to do TT or anything else, so we just headed back out and home to BLT for a break/nap. We got Will down and later went to wake him up and saw he had his hands in his diaper. It was so funny. Now remember, we were potty training this trip. He had just ‘got it’ the week before. He never had an accident while we were out and about touring WDW. However, he did have an accident during his nap and we didn’t want to have to wash the sheets every day, so we put on a pullup/diaper for his naps and nighttime. Most times he was dry, but since we had to wash our own sheets as DVC, we didn’t want to risk him wetting the bed.
ry%3D400

[FONT=&quot]And so up next- dinner at O'hana, will we make it in time? Then freezing our butts off at MK to catch MSEP!:rotfl2::santa:

Trip notes? Why didn't I think of that. I have to do my entire TR based on memory. Well, memory and pictures, and since I have 1300+ pictures, I guess I am good for around 1.3 million words.:lmao:

I never knew about the Jammitors, of course we didn't see them, so I guess it doesn't matter now.

lol at the notes. I usually take a small notebook that serves as my trip book- like notecard size and i tape my itenerary, ADRs, flight info, car rental and all details in it and then use it to take notes and stuff too. I tried to take notes during our midday breaks, but it didn't happen everyday. The pictures help a ton, but i didn't take much this trip.

lol at 1.3 million words! i am subscribed and reading- and counting. :rotfl::lmao:

The Jammitors were cool, not as cool as PUSH though. :wizard:

We didn't see Push this trip, but did see it 4 years ago. Of course I also forgot about the Coke thing at EPCOT. Didn't have it in my planner, and it just completely slipped my mind. My wife loves coke, so I think she would have gotten a kick out of it.

Your pearl was huge, we got 3, two 7's and a 7 1/4. They all fit nicely in the Cinderella Carriages.

I find it very hard to try to get stuff done in FW and WS in the same day, especially since Epcot is so big and the kids are walking. I always plan a day for each area

One day I will do pick a pearl but for some reason I always forget

yeah, we just love the atmosphere of Sci Fi. We will skip it this next time around though and go for some new places since it is just us 3 in October. But the burger is better than quick service and you are right, they are way lacking in food at HS.

when are you guys going again next year, date wise? I forget how early the lights go up.

We are going to be actually in Disney November 5th-11th. The light started on the 8th this past year, so I have my fingers crossed that they start around the same time this year so we can see them! I'm not expecting much else to be up decorations wise, but we really loved the Lights in 2009.

I'm glad Will was tall enough to ride Soarin'! Love that ride! (And the soundtrack - I listen to it all the time too! ;) )

I vaguely remember the 2nd floor of the Kodak labs after Journey into your Imagination. I don't remember all the details, but I do remember there being so much to do there. And I remember when Figment and Dream Finder had a Meet and Greet!

Finally caught up. I had to take notes so I would remember what I wanted to comment on!

Surprise EMH's- Yes, this screwed us up too! In fact, the 19th when we were doing MK there were NO EMH's posted, I even double checked the notice in our rooms when we got back, but sure enough there were a ton of people when we were getting there at 7:30 for our 8:05 ADR. We asked and a security guy checking bags said they were opening at 8am. I was MAD. We ended up canceling our ADR and going right to the rides.

The new Pooh queue looks awesome. I wish Jack had managed to get over his fit so we could have seen it in person, lol.

I really wish I had seen that Toy Story sweatshirt. I saw that design on a picture frame, and I did end up getting the MR. and Mrs. Potatohead ornament for Jack where they are wearing mouse ears etc., but that sweathsirt would have been perfect!

Jack also got a Mickey balloon. He had been asking for one since we got our package info in the mail. On the front of the packet is a picture of the castle with Mickey balloons floating up. He got a green one. I wasn't suprised at the $10 price tag, but I wish there was a way to take it home! It was super windy when we bought ours too, the guy put like 5 weights on it. I guess I could have brought those home!

That green hoodie Toy Story shirt that Will was wearing, Jack has that too!

We did not have good luck at Soarin'. The CM in the front was watching us approach like a hawk! He didn't quite measure up but it was wierd because we measured him a few places and sometimes he looked tall enough and sometimes it looked like there was a huge gap. Oh well, something to look forward to!
