Im thinking maybe an alice and wonderland theme....

Someone on this board mentioned to me that since i am getting married outside maybe an Alice and Wonderland theme wedding would be nice. The more i think about it the more i like it. But i need ideas! I don't have tons of money to spend and i don't want it to look "trashy"

Ive did some googleing but i just cant seem to find what i am looking for.

any ideas?

( I am thinking about some kind of tulle to go around the pergola. but i am not sure yet.

Check out the disney wedding blog also. There was a bride who did a mad hatter themed wedding on there, that might serve some inspiriation.

You can go two ways- make it super obvious, or just use bits and pieces as inspiriation.

If I were you, I'd think big, bright flowers like gerber daisies. Or maybe google terms like "garden party" rather than alice in wonderland specifically which might give you more of soft, romantic and lush feeling to the inspiriation.

We had a touch of Alice too- one of our "informational" things we sent out to the guests was a message from the Mad Hatter, and we did it as a poem and used terms like " was not directly directed in the right direction" , and had a Mad Hatter cake as the wedding cake.

I to am looking into may be doing an alice theme. There is some really good ideas on the net. I'll email you some links once we've had our planning meeting tonight. Do you get the cable channel WE? On Sunday nights, David Tutera has a show called "My Fair Wedding" where he helps brides with their weddings (he sort of revises their ideas and makes them more elegant), and this season is going to have an Alice-themed wedding. I'm not sure when that specific episode will air, but the new season just started last Sunday, so it will be coming up. You might get some ideas there, too!
