Is it possible to book my hotel through aa.com (POFQ) and then add DDP later?
DH has a bunch of American GC :yay:and they are having a sale on hotel :yay: but not air:sad1:
I can book the hotel but he doesn't have enough GC to pay for air plus AA air to MCO from PHX is sky high (no pun intended, but it is kinda ) I don't see a place on their site to add Hoppers and DDP:confused3
So, I'm going to book air on SWA when that window opens (trip is mid to late Sept.) and then I want to add dining and tickets because we definitely want DDP but.........will I be out of luck?:scared1:
I know someone here must have an answer:worship:
so, TIA!!!!

I am sorry, but you wouldn't be able to add the Disney Dining Plan.

The Dining Plan can be added to:

*Package Purchases (Hotel and Tickets purchased through Disney)
*DVC Reservations

*Annual Passholder Packages (Hotel and no Ticket Purchase Package)
(from WDWinfo.com http://www.wdwinfo.com/discounts/discounts-ap.htm#DISNEYDINING)
Disney Dining Plan

Annual Passholders can now add the
Disney Dining Plan to their reservation. This will make the booking a package subject to the terms and conditions of those reservations. (Paid in full 45 days in advance, etc.)
Availability of the Disney Dining Plan add-on is limited and cannot be combined with any other discounts (AAA, Bounceback, etc.) It can be applied to a AP discounted room as well as one that's rack rate.

If you aren't eligible for a dining plan, you could always load a few gift cards with what the DDP would have cost you and use those at Disney. This way your meals will feel 'prepaid'

So, even if I'm staying on property?
Rats:sad2:
..but, TY!

I didn;t know that. I thought that was only for free dining.

So if I booked hotel only for Disney I would not be able to add DDP?

You would have to book a package (or turn a room only into a package) by adding park tickets to your reservation. For free dining 2 day tickets are required, for paying OOP for the plan only 1 day tickets are needed. Some room only deals can be made into a package with the DDP (including most pin codes offered by Disney), but other deals cannot (like those given to youth groups).

This is right, but then you wouldn't be able to book the hotel through another source (like aa.com as you said you were booking through)

You COULD add the plan if you booked through Disney. It would fall under "package purchases" as mentioned in my original reply.

two things...

first, i could not figure out why AA/Alcoholics Anonymous would offer Disney travel packages... took me awhile to realize it was American Airlines (is that correct?) :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2:

second, aa.com might offer disney packages including the dining plan... it may not be free but it might be available... i know swa.com offers full disney packages, so aa.com easily could as well...

Uncle!!
Thanks for all the advice. I guess I'll use his AA GC for airfare and just book my package the usual way.
I had a sneaking suspicion that's how it would work~again, thanks for all the help!!!
