What hotel did you choose before Mexican Riviera?

For those of you that have already booked your pre cruise hotel stay, where did you choose and why?

We picked the Sunrise Hotel in San Pedro. I honestly forgot why we chose them. But they will take us to the port in the morning and it was only $100 for the four of us for the night :thumbsup2

We chose the Crown Plaza because we are leaving our car there and it's the only hotel we could find in the area with covered, secured parking. Also, we like that it's close to all the downtown restaurants so once we park the car for the night, we can leave it there.

I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise out of San Pedro in April, and got a Priceline hotel (Doubletree Irvine Spectrum) near the Orange County Airport. My husband and I met in CA, and I wanted to stay close to the airport because our arrival times were several hours apart. The next morning we took Prime Time Shuttle to the port.

If you are staying in San Pedro, there are a couple of restaurants with coupons on Restaurant.com. San Pedro Brewing Company is walking distance from the Crowne Plaza and Ports o Call restaurant is in the Ports o Call shopping area.

Right now, restaurant.com has 80% off their gift certificates. Enter "GIVE" at check out. :hippie:

We are flying in late Saturday night so I Priclined a hotel near LAX. I couldn't justify the cost of a hotel closer to port for a couple of hours of sleep. We are staying at a Holiday Inn Express and having Sav-on Shuttle pick us up Sunday morning.

We are staying at the Doubletree in San Pedro. I am using Hilton points for a free stay and it includes parking, shuttle to the port and breakfast. We actually live nearby but it's a better deal for us to use the points than to pay for parking at the port.

We stayed at the Long Beach Hyatt. I chose it because there was lots to do around there and we went over to see the Queen Mary. Loved the little boardwalk area across from the hotel. Not too far from the port.
I should add this was in 2008.

We are staying at the Best Western in Long Beach, they will pick us up from the airport (LGB) and take us to port in the morning.

I didn't realize they offered transport over the bridge to San Pedro. The operator said that you need to book through the hotel for it to be free of charge. If you book through a third party, they charge for transport.

We chose Best Western Avita Suites in Torrance, we wanted to be closer to the port...there's a shopping/movie place around the corner so if the kids want to explore we're in a safer area....it also offers a full breakfast, less than $100 per room and traveling with almost 6 teens, the full breakfast saves us $$$$! :) And it is fairly brand new with great reviews...just don't want to take a chance the night before...we have kids with asthma so rooms that say 'non' smoking need to be that! :)

We are staying at the Hilton in Anaheim. We will be driving down from the Bay Area and plan to arrive early afternoon so we can spend the evening in Downtown Disney (this will be a surprise for our daughter). We choose to park at the port so we can leave at the time we want and don't have to wait for a shuttle and then drive back home along the coastline and have lunch at the beach.

I've never been inside but drive by them almost daily. They look nice from the outside.

We picked the Doubletree in San Pedro. Need a shuttle there, but will take their shuttle to the port the next morning. Wanted to be close and will arrive mid day the Sat. before.

We are staying at the Disney grand Californian all the Disney hotels are offering a 35% off deal up to the end if march.

Thanks! I usually priceline every hotel stay but just didn't want to risk it with as quickly as areas change and we have no clue what is a nice area! :)

We booked on their site then called to confirm, they said it would be no problem. :)
