Our Vintage/UP Save the Dates

When we were putting together Christmas gifts to send up north, we decided it might be time to send out our Save the Dates. Plus, my DF parents had been hinting that they wanted more details to get their plans in line.

Our Wedding theme is a vintage WDW/UP theme. I had no idea what I wanted to do for Save the Dates. So, I started to surf the web to get ideas. That's when I came accross this:

These are pictures of a vintage WDW Magic Kingdom Club application. The club allowed members to get discounts on tickets and other things while visiting WDW. I thought It would be a unique way to create a Save the Date. So, I made my own and created: "Walt Disney's Fairytale Wedding Club"

I made one for each guest of the ceremony (4) and two four ourselves too!:

The cards follow the basic form of the the orginial but have our Wedding info and contact info on them. I made them with clear printable stickers and white cardstock which gave the cards a plastic/laminated feeling. I'm really proud how they turned out! :yay:

To follow this theme, I thought I would make a newsletter detailing the events and more about the Wedding. Since we can only have four guests, my DF siblings will not be able to bring guests to the ceremony. However, we are inviting their guests (if they choose to bring one) to any other events that weekend (i.e. the welcome lunch, Wedding luncheon and possibly a Wishes Dessert Party - not a reception just the normal event). So, I used this newsletter from the 1970's for my inspiration:

And this is my version:

On the newsletter are recreations of Vintage WDW postcards I made with photopaper and cardstock. I enclosed self addressed envelopes with postage for so they would not get ruined in the mail (envelopes not pictured):

I needed something to put all this in. Thus, I decided to make folders with little notes to each person for our save the dates. Along with the folders, I also created envelopes for each. These were stuck into box gifts we had sent back up north to Michigan.

To add a little UP to the Save the Dates. I also made "Ellie" Badges for each person and Joel's wife (my DF sister-in-law whom We've never met).

This is how they turned out:

This is the folder and envelope with a vintage picture that I added a note to look inside for a special invitation from Liz and Lorne.

I'm so proud how they turned out! I've been wearing my "Ellie" Badge everyday since I made it! I hope my future in-laws enjoy them too!

This is absolutely incredible! You have an amazing talent!

I have been thinking about a vintage Disneyland theme for my wedding after finding some cool images online, and I'm glad to see someone else could pull off something similar. Thank you for sharing!!!!

I really love how creative Disney Brides are with some of the small details while preparing form their Weddings!

Also saw your Button Bouquet, very fitting for DHS!

Q? Where do you find the time to do things like that? My younger Sis was the type I thought would have alot of self-made things, but she did all store bought! (They did have a DinseyMoon!)

You did a GReat job! Everything is so creative! Where did you find the folders with pockets that you put everything in? They are very unique.

A lot of late nights:rotfl: Who needs sleep? It's been a struggle finding time. Especially since I work retail and right now is our busiest time of year!:scared1:

I made the folders using three pieces of 12x12 cardstock cut and folded to fit my elements. It allowed me to customize my folders.

Those are awesome! My fiancée and I were discussing having an up theme for our save the dates and those surpass what i even was envisioning. Congrats on those I'm sure everyone on your guest list will be delighted to receive them, they're fantastic!

These may just be the coolest things I've ever seen. Would love to know how you did the Ellie badges to make them look so great.

Thanks!

The Ellie badges, I made by sizing down a sticker I had from an UP sticker book with my scanner. Then, I attached them to the top of a bottle cap meant for scrapbooking (I got mine at Hobby Lobby).

I added a clear acrylic circle sticker on top. These were hard to find, but I finally found them at Joanns. Then I pierced the bottle cap with a metal piercer and put the large safety pin.

Once I found my supplies and sized the sticker to the right size. It was pretty easy.

Did you find the bottle caps locally or did you have to buy them online?

Here is a label that I made in case anyone is looking for one. I made it very large so you will have to resize it to turn it into a bottle cap.

I found several GREAT UP printables on the Disney website that luckily I saved, but for some reason the link is no longer working. Here it is in case they are just having website issues:

Anyways, I took the book and changed the cover to fit a "WDW Adventure" in case someone can use it for an UP themed wedding at WDW. You could add your names to the front as well.

I found them locally at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook embellishments. They come in small packs (8 or so) and larger packs (20 or so) without any adhesive or extra stuff on them.

I need to make some more to add to my bouquet and boutineer (sp?) so I am definitely going to use the graphic you posted. It is a little clearer then mine.

Thanks!

Thanks for the link!! I saved all the printables. I'm going to use some of the projects as items in my welcome bags as well as items for my at home wedding reception/dinner.

Were you able to use the link? I just keep getting a random Disney website when I try to click on the link.
