What food and/or beverages would I be able to take off of the ship to the Atlantis waterpark to help offset some off our out of pocket cost for a light lunch there?
I will tell you the lunches we had were only $8.00 each and there was enough for an adult and child to share. We and a big hamburger, fries and a large drink but there may be other options.
Officially or not? This is in reference to the question. There is what you are supposed to do and what you can choose to do.
You are not supposed to take food off the ship as they cannot assure the safety of it--lack of proper refrigeration, etc. In the US, laws prohibit bringing in any fresh fruit or unprocessed foods (and this IS enforced in the US). Reality, in the Bahamas, no one inspects your bag to be sure you don't have an apple in there.
You need to follow the laws of the country where you are in port, but the ship recommendations are the US laws.
Where did you eat?
.... I Put my FIRE/ FLAming suit on......because we were planning to bring a soft sided cooler to pack food items to take off the ship with us to the beach...My kids are SUPER picky and its easier...
Call room service the night before and ask for frozen Uncrustables, they are great because they are sealed. Be sure to request to not have them microwaved, they get all mushy. Also bring some ziploc bags with you from home and order choc chip cookies from room service and pack them too, a nice picnic lunch for everyone!
I guess I am just a little spoiled, but there is no way that I would go to Atlantic and eat those nasty uncrustable things that they try and pass off as sandwiches. YUCK. I don't get eating PB&J while swimming at a hotel such as Atlantic. If I couldn't afford a lunch, then I wouldn't go. But that is me.
Great idea too, can you bring on board pre-packaged items to take? I don't want to spend a fortune for food at Atlantis.
As with everything...to each his own.....
some people wouldnt DARE stay in the *dungeon* like we are...but we are rarely in the room....Each family is paying for Their own vactaion, so no judgements here.....
