All you previous cruisers that know CI&S. Where is a good place to arrange for a night before cruise DIS family meet at the CI&S. Is the Lobby big enough to have people gather, is there a lounge? We are going to have to pick a time that might be in the evening, since some people will be driving in and others coming from KSC.

Thanks in advance. Not having stayed at the port before not sure where we should meet.

The lobby is "ok" in size but kinda crammed up against the check in desk. There is an area next to the lobby on the far wall opposite from the check in desk that looked more out of the way.......or you could meet by the pool, it's nicely lit up in the evening.

OHHHHH, ok. Thank you! I haven't stayed there personally but some folks from my last FE group did and they met up at the pool.

No lounge at the CI&S.....I would shoot for the pool as well!

Another option, and this is what our group did for our cruise last month, is to meet at one of the shore side restaurants that are litteraly a 2 minute drive from CI&S. We arranged to meet for dinner. Originally it was going to be FISH LIPS, which I hear is awesome, but as it was the weekend of the air show, they wouldn't take reservations for dinner. So we had reservations made at Grills which was Also fantastic! If other ships are setting sail, you can stand out on the deck and wave bon voyage. Later, more of us met at the pool at CI&S. It was great in that court yard type area, but there was no lighting when the sun went down. If there was lighting, the staff never turned them on. :)

Just call the manger and ask if DISboarders (they know who we are) can have a meet that evening in the 'breakfast room'. They allowed us to meet there for passing out lanyards and visiting. :thumbsup2

While it was not a Disney cruise, we met 2 weeks ago at Fishlips prior to our Carnival cruise. (happy to be doing Disney next). Fishlips has 2 levels, upstairs being more of a roadhouse and downstairs a restaurant and games room (games room meaning a room where you can play skee ball etc. for tickets and redeem the tickets for prizes. good for adolescents/teens) We met upstairs and the food was good, but with a few Christmas parties going on, not a lot of room for a large M&G. There were only a few of us so it worked out ok.

The room that they do breakfast in...right off the lobby, and not used except for breakfast.
