A Vacation From My Problems (A Sept. 2010 Trip Report) - COMPLETED 12/14

But not during dessert, either. Or after-dessert coffee. Or second breakfast. Or elevensies.

Second breakfast = The Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring

This one would have been a perfect one to include in the story about my parents and their dinner choices. Sigh.

Yeah, but you did an awesome job working the quotes in that you did. ::yes::

Is it bad that when I read this, instead of thinking about the real Jeopardy, I think about how "Sean Connery" could re-read this into something inappropriate on SNL?:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I'll take, "Deshperate Schemesh for Meaninglessh Pointsh" for $1,000, Alexsh.

I aim to please. ;)

LOL... I thought it was taking aim? :confused3

Reminds me of the sign in my grandmother's bathroom.

We aim to please. You aim too, please.

How did you know that was the order of things around here. Round of Port precisely at 5:00, you know, Old Chap.

I just figured you for a hobbit, Liesa.

Yeah, but you did an awesome job working the quotes in that you did. ::yes::

Thanks, Glenn. I shudder to think what this TR would have been like without them! :rotfl2:

You'd better make sure you add something in Michigan too so that you can hit ALL the states around Indiana while avoiding it.

Well, better to still have a job and vacation there rather than not have a job and make it your permanent home.;)

I'm absolutely shocked by this stat. If you'd have put the over/under at 6, I'd have taken the over.:rotfl2:

And it ain't over now, cause when the going gets tough.....

:idea:the tough get going. Who's with me???

Oh, I wouldn't do that. We need to hit all 50. I haven't planned everything out yet, but we have friends from college who live in South Bend that we wanted to visit. And I was going to try and hit certain DIS Dads up with PM's to see if I could say hi on the way through... :rolleyes1

So, sell me on Indiana. What should I make time to see? :confused3

Amen to that!

Well, nobody said it was a particularly vigilant department.

And it ain't over now, cause when the going gets tough.....

Toga! Toga! Toga!

*Over?! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??

Huh??? We never did that!!

Loved your lists! Very amusing!

I was sick at home today and spent all the time reading stuff on the internet - including your road trip TR on the disneydads website. You really are a great writer, it was very interesting to read! I am not a golfer, but I guess Augusta must be for a golfer what Wimbledon is to a tennis player. But the strawberries there are much more expensive that the food there! :goodvibes

Glenn, congratulations for your new title! :thumbsup2

So, sell me on Indiana. What should I make time to see? :confused3

oh... well... uh... hmm...

Actually there's quite a bit. The problem is, most of the things here seem to fit specific interests. Since you're going to Canton, I'm sure that will probably keep other sports centered destinations off the list, so that could make it tougher. You could have a football theme to the trip though if you see the college football hall of fame in South Bend.

I'm sure that trip will consist of a drive across northern IN to South Bend then Chicago and then down I-65 to Louisville (or vice versa)... If you pass through Indianapolis, I'm sure your kids would love the Children's Museum. It is a pretty impressive place and has a lot of hands on things to do. I could suggest some other things too if you're interested when you get to that point in planning.

There are also plenty of places to camp... you know, just in case you have to bring the tent along when you head this way.

Huh??? We never did that!!

That was a movie quote from a character in Animal House. He wasn't a very bright character.

Loved your lists! Very amusing!

Thanks! It's been a little quiet today, so I hope I didn't scare off everyone else.

You're too kind! And you must have been really, really bored to go back and read my other TR's. That ranks just behind watching water evaporate for entertainment value.

I was grateful for the low food prices there!

And I'm sorry you're feeling sick. I hope you feel better very soon.

Loved all of the recent updates there Captain O.

Just had to add... Seven years of college down the drain! Might as well join the Beverly Peace Corps.

It was a great game Mark. I enjoyed playing with everyone. Some days it was a real sprint to get the quotes claimed before they were gobbled up.
