for for those of you who do not know our situation, I'll restate...

we're staying at POR July 19-25 on the DxDP, then we're switching to WL for the 25-29

Well we have added a the QSDP to our WL stay as well as a one day park pass.

When I called and made the changes I asked about the beginning and ending times of each individual plan. I was told the DxDP will end at midnight on the 25 (which I was aware of) BUT then I was told that the QSDP will start as soon as we check into WL.

we plan on checking into WL in the morning then heading over to EPCOT so I asked the CM whether the DxDp would end and switch over to the QSDP as soon as we checked into WL. The CM told me that we would still be able to use the DxDP until midnight. So I asked So we get the 3 meals and 2 snacks from the DxDP AS WELL AS the 2 CS and 2 snacks from the QSDP all at the same time? So 3 TS credits, 2 CS credits and 4 snack credits per person? I even amde sure to spell it out for him, just like that with the numbers per person and everything

Much to my surprise he said this was correct. We the meal plans would essentially overlap and we would be able to use any unused DxDP credits at the same time we use the CS credits from the other plan. I was completely shocked...

I understand that many CM's on the phone don't knew what's really going on, but he seemed knowledgeable and assured me that I could have my luggage transferred and a told me a bunch of other things that I know to be true (thanks to the DIS)...so I was wondering is this actually true, or is this yet another misinformed CM?

Sorry this was so long...hopefully you can understand my situation

Pretty sure that he/she is correct.

There was another thread not long ago with someone doing this to actually get enough credits to cover a 2TS dinner show on the transfer day.

Agree - that's totally correct. Many people have overlapping dining credits for one day when they book 2 consecutive reservations with the DDP.

As far as Disney is concerned, there is no such thing as a "split stay." You have two separate, independent reservations that just happen to be back to back. Your DxDP credits expire at midnight on checkout. Your QSDP credits start at checkin. The DxDP doesn't know about the QSDP, and the QSDP doesn't know about the DxDP. They each operate under their own rules.

So yes, in this case, the CM was correct.

Yes, it is correct. Your first stay credits will not expire until midnight AFTER you check out of the first resort. Any leftover credits from the first stay will be good until then. You need to keep your key cards from the first resort until you have used those dining credits.

This is true regardless of whether or not you check into another resort on the same day.

Ok, this part is slightly wrong, although everything else is correct. Your credits are awarded per night of each of your reservations, although they are accessible on the days of either side of those nights.

Now, that means there is a day's overlap between consecutive reservations, but that's only in how you are able to access those credits, not in how they're awarded. You're given a lump sum of credits as soon as you check in for that reservation, and you can use them anytime you want, up until the midnight following the check-out for that reservation. So yes, if you have DxDP credits remaining on the day of check-out from your first reservation, you can still use them. You also get access to your QSDP credits (on a different card) as soon as you check in for your second reservation.

But while there's an overlapping period in which you can use them, you still aren't "double dipping" in the sense that each pool of credits is still based on the nights of each reservation, and you're not getting credits in both pools for any one night.

So we are hoping to get a diner on our last night at Artist point. So we have to keep our cards from POR to use the credits (makes sense) but aren't they are room keys? wouldn't we have to return that when we check out? Or do we return it to Wilderness Lodge? Or even return it to POR after diner? How does this work exactly?

You don't turn in your KTTW cards when you check out. They stop working for the resort room door once you check out, but still work as park tickets forever and as DDP credits until midnight of your checkout day.

But here's what you said that is concerning - you said Artist Point on "our last night." But your last night would be staying @ the WL with the Quick Service Plan based on your original post. You wouldn't have any TS credits to use for that AP meal - they would have expired at midnight on the day you checked out of POR with the Deluxe Plan.

Your Key To The World (roomkey) is yours to keep! It is like a souvenir. You do not have to give it back. So hold on to ít until you have used all your credits. :goodvibes

you will have to use those table service credits from Deluxe plan on the 25th, the day you check out of the first hotel. The will expire at midnight on the 25th (to avoid confusion, think of it as expiring at 11:59 PM on the 25th) So make your signature reservation for the night of the 25th, no later!

Any Deluxe credits you haven't spent will be no good on July 26, 27, 28, 29 (your days at the second hotel.)

Just wanted to add that you can't return your KTTW because your name is printed on your card. Like someone else mentioned, it makes a great souvenir.

Okay, so your POR stay is 6 nights and your WL stay is 4 nights, correct?

This means that you'll get 18 meal credits (6x3) on the Deluxe Plan to be spent from check-in on the 19th until 11:59pm on the 25th. You'll get 8 CS credits (4x2) on the QSDP to spend from check-in on the 25th until 11:59pm on the 29th.

So, on the 25th (after you check-in at WL), you'll have whatever meal credits you have left from the deluxe plan PLUS access to all 8 of your CS credits (from the QDSP).

The number of credits you get is based on the number of NIGHTS you have on the reservation.

I'm sorry, It's on our last night of the DxDP...the day we check out of POR and into WL
