Food & Wine Extravaganza...the TR. Finished 12/6

We headed back over to Hollywood Studios to give it another try. It was my Mom, Geoff & I. We didn't try to get there right at rope drop, but were there before 10. Our first stop was RnR.

We hopped in the single rider line...and it took longer than the stand-by line! By about 30 minutes. (Geoff sat next to someone on the ride who got in line a half hour after us...in the regular line.) I think we were just having bad luck at HS!

When we got off, we grabbed FPs for ToT and headed over and did the Great Movie Ride. I swear I've been on it too many times, I can quote the entire ride! We were getting hungry, so next up it was lunch time! We wound up at Backlot Express, which surprised us in how much we enjoyed it. Review here.

After lunch our FPs were good, so we headed back over to ToT. My Mom and I rode while Geoff waited for us at the exit. He's not a fan of "dropping," so ToT is totally out of the question!

I do love ToT. It might be my favorite ride at the Studios!

We moved the car over to Epcot and hit up Nemo! (yes, I sing along.)

We decided to stick around and see Turtle Talk with Crush. Love this! The kids can be hilarious.

Next up it was time for Journey Into Imagination with Figment! I love Figment (as evidenced by my user ID!) I miss the original version, but I'm glad Figment is back!

We had a 4pm ADR at Le Cellier, so we meandered back to the World Showcase. First, we went to France to get my new favorite...the Cosmo Slush!
20101009_313.jpg

We made our way back to Le Cellier and checked in...but since my Dad wasn't with us yet, they wouldn't seat us (I hate this. We would have all ordered wine & apps waiting for him, spending more than we did.) So we waited for him to get there. In case you're wondering, he had to go into work that day.

Once he got there, we checked in again and were seated immediately. Review for Le Cellier here. I never understood the hype around Le Cellier, but I have to admit, our dinner was fantastic.

When we finished, Geoff & my Dad went over to see the movie in China (my Dad loves it, I don't get it...)

My Mom and I checked out the Caramel store in Germany and then headed over to Eat to the Beat! It was Sugar Ray, and I was super excited to see him. Not that I'm a huge fan, but he was really popular when I was a teen, so I knew most of the songs. I knew a lot more artists on the list this year...I think it means I'm getting older

He put on a fantastic show. If he comes back next year, it's definitely worth checking out!

Afterwards, we made our way out of the park and called it an early night. Today was much better than yesterday! :thumbsup2

Next.

I had the biggest crush on Mark McGrath when I was a teenager. I was so excited when I saw them on the Eat to the Beat list. I just wanna fly...

Sounds like your experience at DHS was similar to mine. The line for TSM was quoted as 70, we waited almost 2 hours. RnRC was down the whole day coming back up at the end of the day with a 60 minute wait. And Backlot Tour kept going down. There's something funny going on over at DHS!

I am glad he wore the correct shirt for the occasion!:goodvibes

I didn't realize Mark McGrath stilled toured, wasn't he a host on one of those TV Tabliod shows? Extra or something like that? Wow, I'm older than you by a bit and now I feel REALLY OLD!!

I was excited because I actually knew some of the performers! :upsidedow

Yeah, he was a host (or still is.) I don't know if he still tours or if it was just for Epcot. And yes, his shirt made me really happy :thumbsup2

Okay...time to get this wrapped up! On our last day, we were heading over to Epcot for some more F&W fun. Got a later start again today (though this time it was because we needed to start packing :sad1: )

Here are the reviews for the kiosks we hit up that day.

My Mom works for Mrs. T's Pierogies, so we made a pit-stop from our snacking to celebrate National Pierogy Day!

After getting plenty of funny looks we continued on our way...

Enjoying the day:

Since I was still battling a cold, I was really in the mood for some good ol' fashioned comfort food. Considering I am my father's daughter, I went to Germany for a pretzel. And considering my PA Dutch background, I smothered it in mustard :rolleyes1

These are the pictures I always get when I ask Geoff to take a picture of me...I don't need to be a little tiny speck in the corner!

And because I love this picture...
20101009_340.jpg

We made a stop at Japan for Geoff & my Dad to try some sake. They're both fans, my Mom & I? Not so much. So we just browsed the store, oogled some Mikimoto pearls :lovestruc
20101009_344.jpg

Next up was our Behind the Seeds tour! (We signed up for it earlier that day.) We learned all about plants, my Mom released Lady Bugs, & I fed the fishies!

Afterwards I really wanted a Mickey Bar... and I dropped part of it on the ground :sad2: My Mom captured the moment.

We left the park after that. I really wasn't feeling great, so this day wasn't very exciting. We did stop to take a picture of our feelings about the last moment of the parks...

We still had some plans for that night...Jiko! Which was a huge let down. Review here.

Sorry for the dull ending, I was pretty hopped up on cold meds so I don't remember much :confused3 Hope you enjoy the pictures anyway. Andddd...next up is my dining report for my December trip! I'll post the link when I start it!

Bummer that you weren't feeling well on your last day! However, despite that-it looks like and sounded like a great trip!

I just had Mrs. T's piergoies for lunch. YUM.

And I'm with you on that pretzel. Drool. I looooooove the Germany pretzels. I'll def have to try it with mustard next time!

Thank you for writing your TR! Despite being slow to catch up, I loved it all! :goodvibes

You never want to end a trip with a cold. I'm sorry that was the case. I'll look forward to your Dining Report link!

P.S. Have you started the new job yet?:surfweb:

I'm a big mustard fan. Geoff thinks I'm gross :rotfl:

I just started on Monday. I'm in snowy, snowy Cleveland now for training. I'm so cold. And soooooo tired of the snow!

But the job? It's going well :thumbsup2
