Please tell me about your 1900 Park Fare dinner experiences

We are thinking about 1900 Park Fare for Dinner one night we are at Magic Kingdom. How's the food, characters, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

My cousin and her family were there about 2 weeks ago and loved the happily ever after dinner. She said that the characters are extra nice and they were very entertaining. The food was good as well and they were given a free cupcake for their baby when they found out it was her birthday. Needless to say I am booked as well. I go in about 6 days get back to me and I will let you know how it goes.

We have been there for breakfast but not dinner. We really enjoyed our meal there. The food was pretty good, although it's a little tough to screw up eggs, and we had great character interaction. Our server was OK, she was really nice but not the most attentive person I've ever had. The place was packed so maybe she had a lot of tables.

Dinner gets very mixed reviews, mainly over the quality of the food. I always say try it for yourself. In general none of the character meals are the best in terms of food anyway. You do it for the experience.

we ate there last year and loved it!! we actually can't wait to go back next year. the dinner buffet was great and the characters were hilarious.

We went a few years ago and I can't say enough about it! Excellent food, amazing character experiences and my DD, who was 9 at the time, still talks about it. She dressed up like Cinderella and it made me cry lol. I had my little girl back for a while. Very worth it.

Your mileage may vary. We had read nothing but great character reports, and we were bored. It wasn't just us, everyone in the room was commenting about how flat the characters were that night. The food was fine, it just didnt live up to the entertainment hype

We ate there in October. The food quality was good or bad depending on what you had. It's a buffet so at least you have options and we all found something to eat we liked. Some characters were great and other's not so good. My 5 yr old is totally into princesses and thought Anastasia was a princess too (pink dress, thing on her head). He got to dance with her. Plus Cinderella was a total sweetheart towards him and he loved it. That alone made it worth it for us. But if we did not have him to watch I could see being bored. Plus my mom was put off by the wicked stepmother being younger then her

We have eaten breakfast there and WE LOVED IT! The food was great and the Mad Hatter was so much fun!! We will be eating there again on Dec 1 for breakfast and we are really looking forward to it!

It wasn't the worst meal we've had in WDW but it wasn't the best. The food was ok, just your average buffett. The big negative for me was the crowds and noise. It was very cramped and noisy with people, and also noisy from the calliope that erupted every 15 minutes or so. Just sensory overload for me. I know WDW will be loud and crowded but this was just too much for me.

The character interaction was very good though and the kids loved them.

Character interaction was great -- we were there kind of late, so the dining room was not full. Lady Tremaine asked if my college boys were available... and then the fun began! The stepsisters were all over my boys, asking about future prospects, how big a house might be in "the deal." IT was hysterical and all the tables around were enjoying it too.

We had some special food issues and the chef was incredibly attentive and helpful. Our server was excellent, brought drink refills and condiments in a flash, and wisked away used plates.

Overall, food was mediocre but with some high points.

We really enjoyed the evening. The characters are what made it -- the stepsister Drusilla in particular.

We've done breakfast and dinner there and I'm not really in any rush to go back. Both times the service was just "meh."

For dinner we really enjoyed the characters. DD got to dance with the prince so that was a highlight. As for the food, I wasn't a fan. To be fair, I don't love buffets to begin with because I don't really enjoy the whole "mish mosh of foods I wouldn't normally eat together". I found the food selection to be more mish-moshy than some other WDW buffets. I guess it's sort of an international theme.

For breakfast I didn't think the characters were that great and it took forever for the Mad Hatter to get to us (he took a break right before our table but then started back up again wayyyyyy on the other side of the room so we had to wait the entire rotation). The food wasn't bad -- breakfast buffets don't offend me as much .

We just returned from our trip 11/24. We ate dinner at 1900 Fare. The GF is beautiful. The characters were unique and entertaining but the food was not good. The selection was small for a buffet. The potatoes were the only thing that I enjoyed. My family enjoyed Chef mickeys much much better last year. We ate at 1900 fare because Cinderellas is my daughters favorite princess. I would not recomend this restaurant unless, you have Cinderella fan in your family. And then I would recommend Cinderellas Castle where you get your picture taken with Cinderella and dine in the castle with additional princesses. I enjoyed the food at the Castle too. IMHO, for the cost of the meal, the experience and the food at Cinderellas Castle is much better than 1900 fare.

We ate dinner ther a year ago and the food was great.................but then again we had 4:30 dinner reservations, we were the first ones there and everything was hot and fresh. I am sure that makes a big difference.

We went in early November 09. The food was ok - it was hot and replenished quickly just not that great.. just ok you know. Our wait was the longest one we had. We had a 6:30ish ADR with a 2.5 year old (already a little late but the best we could do) We were on time but waited for an hour. The worst part was that they kept seating big parties 6-8-10 that came in WAY after us but not the 2-3-4's. It made for several cranky little girls in the lobby. That being said.. I can hardly remember that because the characters were AWESOME!
The Lady Tremaine was just the best character of our whole trip! DD really got into it and the Lady started playing with her! We have the best pics of our 34" daughter staring up at and making "grrr" faces at the Lady who with shoes and wig is well over 6 feet tall. The step-sisters were loud and funny and Cinderella and the Prince were great too. Cinderella went out of her way to make things special for the 50 year old next to us who always "wanted to meet her and go to Disney world."

I've eaten there twice. The food was fine (I'm not a picky eater), and the interaction was great. The first time I took my Goddaughter for her 9th Birthday (which was also MY birthday) - she'd had the whole BBB that day, and Prince Charming was very, well, charming to both of us.

The second time I was there with a friend, and the step-sisters were in high form that night. It was very funny.

But like the PP said, the wait was horrible. Of all the ADRs I've had over the years, even ones we've arrived early for, I've almost never had to wait more than 15 minutes (and RARELY more than 5) - but both times at 1900 we've waited between 45 minutes and an hour. Sure, there are worse places to wait than the lobby of the GF, listening to the piano and just relaxing in a comfy chair (though this was easier with another adult than a bored child). And it's probably not as likely earlier in the evening. But that was the only negative.

And we have breakfast AND dinner ADRs during this next trip.

We had such a blast with the characters there in April '09 at dinner but the food was meh. I am not a buffet hater. One of our families favorites is Boma but we do enjoy some of the nicer places as well. We have not returned to this meal because the food was really poor. I have entertained trying it again but just haven't done it yet.
