Basking in the Glow of the (not so) Creepy Clown -2/11-Pictures, Final Thoughts, PTR!

Congratulations!!!! Good luck on your interview... on second thought you don't need luck! You already know you are perfect for this job!

Very early on when I mentioned my dates, Heidi (MRYPPNS), mentioned to me that the crowds would be drastically lower in early February. And a few others also brought it up when I announced my dates....

This made me yearn for earlier dates; however, due to a few factors of other travel and work schedules, it was just not to be. I wasn't too bummed, knowing we'd have enough days and some great DIS Meets!

However...
after some discussion and jugging - it turns out earlier March IS going to work quite nicely...even nicer than our previous dates!

So you wanna know our new dates?

March 5-12, Lagoon View at BLT!!

:yay::yay::yay:

I'm so looking forward to being on the monorail and taking advantage of the monorail eats. A Chef Mickey's breakfast will be done. ::yes:: I'm thinkin' a cup or 12 of Kona Coffee will be consumed by yours truly. :lovestruc Riding the monorail into Epcot to view those beautiful flowers with a cup of Kona in my hand...:cloud9:

Oh, but WAIT. I interrupt your day dreaming to let you know...

That's not all folks.

Flower & Garden Festival starts on March 2, it would be so nice to be close to Epcot, don't you think? Plus, we just enjoyed being in that area so much this past September. It was a lovely walk to Epcot and boat ride to DHS.

So why don't we just add on February 26-March 5 at BWV?!?!?

OKAY, LET'S JUST DO THAT!

:hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

There you have it! We arrive on February 26 and depart on March 12.

15 days. Fifteen!

I think we are crazy.

And I love it!

Wow! 15 days is awesome! I love going for the longer trips!!

I just finally caught up with your TR! I had a lot to read and I just have to say you are very, very, very smart the way you toured with Henry. I wanted to let Aaron just play on the play areas and be a kid, but Jason said he can do that at home. Next time I am not listening to him and we will all be happier!

Hi! I used to be a lurker of your TRs before I went ahead and got a DIS account. I think Henry is about a year or so older than my oldest, so I can get an idea from your TRs what to expect next year. I was excited when I saw Henry is tall enough for Soarin'. I can't wait til Carter is big enough for that. :woohoo:

This morning I had an email in my inbox....I have a phone interview next week!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana: I'm all kinds of nervous and excited!

So excited for you!:banana::banana: This company would be crazy not to hire you. GOOD LUCK! I know you will do great !

Hi everyone!
I hope to carve out some time to do replies and an update today - I have a zillion things on my plate today though. We are leaving for Minnesota on Sunday, and tomorrow is the BIG WEDDING DAY for my friends! Despite their wedding moving from St. Lucia to NYC just 2 weeks before the big day, all the details have come together for them! (ETA: Who, by the way, are spending 3 days at AKL as part of their honeymoon! I'm helping them plan, naturally!)

Just a little update on the job - the interview went well...I think. I was SO nervous, I'm completely out of practice on those things, but overall, I think it was good. The job sounds awesome. I should be hearing back today/early next week if they want me or not for a face-to-face interview.

Henry flew out of NYC yesterday with his Auntie KK. Despite just thinking about it all for days before would make me tear up, I didn't cry! I choked them back. He was so, so excited. He gave me a few big hugs and lots of kisses, then looked to KK and said, "Okay! We go now!" KK said that he kept telling her, "I like my Mommy. My Mommy is nice." over and over again. :lovestruc Poppa sent a picture of Henry playing in the snow - something he has been looking forward to doing. We also spoke to him last night on Skype, which was a lot of fun. He's having a BALL with his Grammy and Poppa and tonight has a sleep-over with his cousin.

And today marks 99 days to Disney! DOUBLE-DIGIT DANCING!!!!!! :yay:

Keeping the fingers crossed on the job for you Brook. I saw the pic of Henry in the snow on FB...too cute.

Hooray for being under 100 days.

Going way back and trying to do some replies! :goodvibes

Great update, Brook. I was getting a little worried because I had seen you ahdn't updated and you've not posted on my TR. But obviously all is well.

Love your story of Henry and the Country Bears and now knowing the difference between boys and girls. :)

Your pictures are great. We've not done the Treehouse in years and probably won't (Mark doesn't like all the stairs and really can't do that many at one time), so I enjoyed the pictures from that. I'm so glad that Henry loved POTC--another one "bites the dust."

Your fireworks pics are great. We keep going back and forth on the Dessert Party. Some people love it, some people don't think it is worth it. So we've still not made a decision if it is offered again next year whether or not we'll do it.

I was thrilled that Henry liked Pirates! He has a small fear of pirates too, due to a carnival we attended with a guy dressed as a pirate with a CRAZY laugh. He still talks about him! :sad1: So, I was nervous about Pirates at WDW, but all was good!

We have really enjoyed the Dessert Party both times we attended. The price is steep, but the desserts are unending! The view of the fireworks is much better from Main Street, but it's not bad at all over at the Terrace. We really like that we have a normal chair to sit in, cool beverages, and food while waiting.

Whoa, this was a great update!!

The Swiss Family Treehouse is so fun. I love the views from the top!

Haha, that will be one Country Bear Jamboree that you will never forget! :lmao:

Oh my goodness, I am drooling at the desserts!

We will NEVER forget that moment in the Country Bear Jamboree! It was just hilarious.

I too, think Pirates has an excellent gift shop. Fun place and so many neat things to buy or take pictures with! :) Go figure the little man would find swords and guns. Boys!

Your Wishes pictures are so pretty!! I just adore Wishes. The desserts look yum. :) Glad Joe will settle for the hotdog or you would have to fanangle a way to get your delicious little nuggets! Ha!!

We hardly even scrapped the surface of that gift shop too. We will have to spend a lot more time in there in Feb/March and really take the time to explore it.

If Joe didn't want to do Casey's again, I would just have to ditch him to get my Corn Dogs! :rotfl:

what a fun update! The Country Bears were my favorite when I was a kid. We took Madeline on our last trip and she liked it so much we went twice. :) Haven't taken her on the Swiss Family Tree house yet though. Maybe I'll have her watch the movie before June.

How do you make reservations for the Wishes dessert party? Is it the same way you make ADR's?

Henry hasn't seen the movie yet, but it's on the list! I think he'll just love it. I can see why the Country Bears are popular with kids, it's a cute show!

You make reservations like a regular ADR, but you have to call because you have to reserve it with your credit card.

Great updates. All those attractions are on our list for Dec. The desert party looks pretty yummy!!

About Montessori-I moved my older DD from a public first grade to a Montessori one and we all really like it. She is doing advanced math and reading and learning all about history and cultures. C goes to the co-op school I teach at but will be going to the Montessori school next year for K. It is cool cause it is Montessori and also chartered by the school district. So it is free to attend but recieves what little state $$$ that public schools get.

Thank you for the info on the Montessori school! They are all over here in NYC, and many are part of the public school system. I remember you doing some switching around with the kids' schools last year, sounds like you have made a great move with the Montessori school - sounds like she needed the challenging classes and she's getting it! :thumbsup2 The local primary school here has a G&T program, so I do like that in case Henry is as smart as I seem to think he is. ;)

I can't wait to go home and see this video! Can't watch You Tube at work, go figure.:rolleyes1

I love Henry's "boy/girl" epiphany! It just all seemed to click right there with the bears! Can you imagine all of the stories you'll be able to share with his dates when he's older? :goodvibes

Great update, it was well worth the wait!

I know! :lmao: It will be a GREAT story to tell him when he grows up! It was so cute.

And yep, that IS a ball and chain around his ankle!!

Great update! I am so debating the Wishes dessert party. Are there fans? Does it seem cooler there? I think A and B could handle it but C is not likely. Were there lots of small kids? I am scheming to see if maybe A and I could go back there for that as a special treat on our second MK day. But I feel bad b/c last trip we got a special afternoon together and did CRT. That, DH had no interest in but a dessert party is different. Hmmm.

I don't recall there being fans, or it seeming cooler; however, the cold beverages and ice help a ton! I remember last September gulping down glass after glass of ice water and then feeling chilly during Wishes because I had drank so much cold water! There were quite a few small kids, a whole line of strollers. You check in just as the parade starts, and devour the buffet, so that takes a while and the kids are distracted with the yummies. There is a small time between the eating and before the fireworks start, but there is a photographer there, and a lot of the kids were just watching at the railing, running around a little bit in an open area where there were no tables, etc. Just like waiting on Main Street, bring a few things to distract the kids, but this way you have a seat, and there are some disctractions built in! :goodvibes

I am so glad you decided to update today! It is a teacher workday, and I have managed to finish everything I needed to do -- I was kind of bored. So, yeay, for having something to read!

I am cracking up that Henry realized the differences between girls and boys while watching the Country Bears Jamboree!!! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: That's a classic for sure!

Hurray for Henry liking Pirates this time around! It's hard to resist the barrels of explosives, isn't it? ;)

I could so use a big plate of those desserts right now!

Whew! I was really worried about the fate of future trips to Casey's, but thank goodness Joe is willing to get a hot dog!

Is is hard to resist barrels of explosives! :lmao: Boys seem to be drawn to them just as quickly as they find the swords and guns! ;)

Your last update gave me a great idea! When we go in March, it will be very close to my dad's 75 birthday and I wanted to plan something special. I considered doing the boat on the lagoon for the fireworks but I will have a baby with me and if he isn't a fan of fireworks, might be a bad idea, no escape route. BUT the wishes dessert party might be a perfect "special event" to celebrate my dad's birthday! :wizard: Woot woot!

Your shots of the fireworks are fantastic, love them!! And so glad Henry liked Pirates. We were nervous last time when we took Aiden but he loved it, wonder if his reaction will be different next time?!

:yay: I'm glad to help!!!! We are big fans of the dessert party! I hope it makes for a magical time for your Dad!

Hopefully Aiden remains a fan of Pirates. Henry the first time, I think, was just at that stage in his life where he was starting to understand the world around him and anything that wasn't "normal" was a bit scary - like a drop on the ride, or loud noises. Now he loves that stuff and it makes him laugh!

I want to do more replies, but I gotta get into Manhattan to run some errands and find a dress to wear to the wedding tomorrow! Hopefully I find it right away and don't have to spend hours dress shopping. Joe and I are gonna grab some dinner and I'll be back home later. I hope to get some packing done tonight - and maybe some of the house cleaned....I gotta get laundry done too! Whew. So much to do! I hope you all have a wonderful and fun Friday night!

Glad you friend's wedding came together. Did all of her guests lose their airfare

I'm sure your job interview went great!

Is this the first time you haven been away from Henry? We left our boys for 4 or 5 days Spring Break to visit my friend in Iowa and I missed them ridiculously.

The Wishes dessert party looks wonderful! All those desserts...yummy! :thumbsup2 So, Henry has started to notice the difference between girls and boys...I hope you can wait a few more years for the "real" discussion of differences...THAT was an interesting conversation (which has only just begun in our house)!

Off to pack - only one more sleep!! :dance3:

THAT conversation will be Joe's department! :rotfl:

How was your trip?!?! :hyper:

Brook, great update!:thumbsup2 I literally LOL reading Henry's thoughts on the Country Bears:rotfl2:

AFWIW, I would've had a blast w/the guys at the Pirates storepirate: Girls will be girls:laughing:

That is true - many, many girls love Pirates...and one in particular. ;)

Great update Brook! It looks like you guys had a lovely evening at MK!

We did the Dessert Party in Oct 09, I've thought about adding it to our trip next month but keep going back and forth! Of course, anyplace with an endless supply of chocolate covered strawberries is the place for me!

The unending chocolate covered strawberries is a beaaaaaaaaautiful thing! We really enjoy the party, but it can get to be expensive. We won't be doing it in Feb/March, but perhaps the trip after that. What did you decide?
