Chef Mickey's reservation question...

I finally got a Chef Mickey's reservation. Interestingly enough, the system had me enter a credit card number to reserve it which I found odd/new as I had made a reservation for our past Sept. trip and did not have to do this. Is this new? Does anyone know?

Thanks

It really surprised me. Wondering if too many people are making reservations there and not showing up. This would surely stop people from double-booking.

Just out of curiosity I went in to see if all of the restaurants are like this now, Liberty Tree Tavern came up and no I did not have to use a credit card.

Weird.

I did not have to enter a card number for my ressie. ????

Did you double check that it is indeed CM and not another venue?

I just grabbed an early reservation late last evening for Chef Mickey's, when did you make your reservation? I'm wondering if this is something new that was implemented when the system was down.

I called the Dining Reservation number and spoke to a real nice woman. She said that the system was not suppose to be taking reservations last evening. She said it must be a glitch so she gave me the tech support number to call tomorrow. :confused3 checked my acct. to make sure that someone did not purposely steal my debit card number and so far there are no extra withdrawals. Geese, how weird/scary.

Yes I would highly recommend watching that card. Something isn't right.

Do you have your confirmation number for that ressie?

yep, it is bothering me. it might have just been a glitch as there is no unusual activity on the card yet. when people steal your credit card they normally charge stuff on it fast as someone got a hold of my debit card (it is cancelled now) and charged hundreds of dollars of tickets on the Eurostar (train in Europe).

Yes, I have a confirmation and it is in the "My Reservations" in the system.

I did have to give my cc once before, but we had a group of 21 people in our reservation. I think it was Chef Mickeys', but it may have been for one of our other reservations, I can't remember. I had to book all of our reservations through group dining that year and I believe that the reason was if we didn't show without cancelling the reservation we would be charged a cancellation fee. Actually I am thinking now that it may have been for Cinderellas Castle.

If WDW said you now need a credit card to reserve an ADR at Chef Mickey's I think it would have been posted on here, so I am sure it was a glitch in their system.
