Podcast 2.0 Thread 6

This week's show is a special show, dedicated to cruising on DCL. With some special emphasis on PCC 2.0. If you are a first time cruiser, I suggest you be sure to listen. Even if you aren't a first timer, it is a nice refresher.

thanks todd, now i really cant wait to listen, but i gotta sit at work for the next 12 hours and not get to listen until tomorrow:rolleyes:

From the DVC forum

"Just spoke with MS and they confirmed the same dates for the Merry Mixer that were mentioned. Dec 10, 16, 23, and 30 at the Fantasia Boardroom at the Contemporary Resort. He told me it would be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. "

We plan to go on the 16th.
But I am confused , because when I checked a month or so ago on the DVC website, the location was near the International Gateway- like last year. I was very happy, since this year we are staying the Beach Club post cruise. Last year, we were at WL and couldn't get over to the event conveniently.
I guess we have to plan the travel time in. Wonder why they changed it? :confused3

They have posted on the DVC website they accidentally posted last year's info, and have since retracted that posting. Speculation on the board is that area was overly crowded, so the convention center would allow more people access and they don't have to worry about weather issues.

I'm listening now...and taking notes !!!!!

I have 21 days to leave for Orlando

12.5 Work Days Left

That would make sense to me. It must have been really crowded last year. I know it was during the Wine and Dine Half Marathon.

A bunch! The Entourage got approved for the private Palo dining room - which I didn't even know EXISTED last year!!! Looks like the wedding reception dinner is a private affair! What more could a girl ask for... :cloud9: :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I am thrilled to be able to go to some non-DISboards meet-ups prior to the cruise!

Inner Mouse / Disney Driven Life Meet-up - Sunday, December 5 · 2:00pm - 4:00pm at the Animal Kingdom Lodge ~ Sunset Lounge

WDW Radio Meet of the Month and 200th Show Celebration - Sunday, December 5 · 3:00pm - 5:00pm at Ariel's at Disney's Beach Club Resort

AllEars - Thursday, December 9 · 9:00am - 10:30am at the Electric Umbrella in Epcot

Who else can join me at these meets?

What night is the Pirate party? I would like to go to Palo that night. I think I heard that Pirate night you eat in a restaurant that you have eaten in before. Is that right?

Yes, night 3 you repeat night 2's restaurant.

Pirate Night will be the evening we leave Castaway Cay, so on Tuesday 12/14.

The dining rotation has not been finalized by DCL, but they are currently running a pattern such as this:
Animator's Pallet
Parrot Cay
Parrot Cay
Triton's

If this is still the case for our sailing, Tuesday would be the "do-over" restaurant.

Tracey,

Thank you for posting this. I now have a good dinner time.

For those of you with Sam's Club memberships:

Sams Club has a HOT Disney gift card promotion. If you buy a Disney gift card valued at $100 for just $98.87, you also get a $10 bonus Disney Store gift card for free! That’s like getting $110 for just $98.87.

Here are a few things you need to know:

* The Disney gift card can be used anywhere credit cards are accepted. That means you can use it to pay for your Disney vacation packages, hotel reservations, meals, souvenirs at the parks, or even at DisneyStore.com. Plus the card never expires!
* The bonus $10 Disney Store gift card is only valid at Disney Store locations or online at DisneyStore.com. It is not valid in the parks.
* There doesn’t appear to be a limit to how many cards you can buy.
* You need to purchase your Disney gift cards at your local Sam’s Club stores. There are displays with the cards.
* If you have the Disney Visa, this is a better deal. You are only paying $98.87 (no tax!) for the $100 gift card. That is a profit of $1.13 where the Disney Visa only gives you $1 plus you get the bonus $10 gift card! But unfortunately Sams Club does not accept Visa cards so you can’t charge this purchase on your Disney Visa. Would be so awesome if they did!

Just curious about this as I have always paid with my Visa debit cards and never had a problem. Do they not accept Visa credit cards?

Also, here is a pic of our local Sam's club display for reference. Each Sam's may have a different display but this should help as to what to look for:
