How do I add a person to a cruise?

Hi everyone,

I booked our 3-night Magic cruise sailing 9/1/2011 for 3 people only - DH, me and DD - in a GTY cat 12. Now, I learned that my sister MIGHT join us but cannot guarantee yet, so I was wondering, is it possible to add her to this cruise now or do I just add her later when she is sure to come (won't price increase)? Is it even possible to add her in the first place?

If you booked with a travel agent, they will have to do it, but if you can access your reservation online, simply go to your reservation and click "modify" on room category...it will then allow you to change the number of persons in the room, I did it last week, it allowed me to add a fourth to our room and my price only went up $40..because I added a child and the Kids Sail Free offer was still ineffect or that category was available..the odd thing is that it still made me 'pay' something to accept the change, so I simply paid $45 and it accepted it...when I called Disney tech help they said it should not have asked me to pay anything since I already had paid double the deposit on that room, but who knows??

I believe you will have to move to a higher cat as well. I think cat 12 will only sleep 3 people. So when she knows for sure you will have to call disney or your ta to see what can be done.

If I add her in now and in a few months she figures she can't go and I modify the # of people back down to 3, will my cruise cost just go back to the original cost or is there a penalty or something?

I hope you mean that you booked a cat. 11C for the cruise since there are no cat. 12's starting in 2011.
It should be possible to add her now, you will pay the prevailing rate for her. As long as you cancel her before the cancellation policy takes effect you shouldn't incur any additional costs and her rate will just drop off your reservations. If you have booked thru a TA you will need to make all changes thru them and you will need to pay any charges that they may charge for making changes to your reservation - this may not be the case, but you should be aware in case your TA has additional charges. If you booked thru DCL you can do all this by calling them or going online and modifying your reservation.
