Do disney US need a deposit? If so how much? We are looking into buying when we go next year and wondered about the payment plans they do. We are looking at AKLV and between 160 and 200 points but would need finance. Also do they do a credit check only my DB has had a few financial issues which has affected his credit score. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can arrange a loan here it would work out alot cheaper. I would then check out the resale market as you would get more points for your money.

Disney do not do any checks as afar as I know, dont know about deposit if buying direct.

You will need a 10% deposit if you want to use their finance but be warned they have just put their rates up and the lowest is now 11.75% and that is only if they take the payments by DD which means you would need a US based account prior to buying.

You are more than welcome to contact The Timeshare Store, Inc.® via email at sales@dvcstore.com. If you provide your full name we can add you to our distribution list so when new listings become available you will be notified.

Of course, one our associates would be happy to answer any questions for you as well and email you a brochure.

I just bought in November. Did half downpayment (which I had a month to provide) and half financed. The best thing about the Disney loan is that there are no repayment penalties and you can take it out with the intention of re-financing over here. I'm going to see what rates I can get, but I'm hoping to pay off the loan in the next few years anyway.
There's no credit checks supposedly - I was immediately approved and we were told that's the same for all overseas purchasers. Can't wait for my first trip home in March :)
Best of luck!

If you are thinking of buying through finance, check and double check the figures first.

We were going to finance when we first thought about DVC but the numbers just didn't add up. Luckily we got a windfall and we were able to pay outright so it was good financially too.

Unless you get a good finance deal you find that once you add everything up including dues, etc. that it's better to keep paying OOP.

Saying that, for most people, owning a pice of the mouse isn't about the money, so as long as you are aware of how the finances pan out and you still want to but then go for it! :)
