Main Entrance Pass/Resort Discounts for Family/Friends

Howdy!

I am on the Fall 2010 College Program, and I wanted to thank my old boss for all he did for me during the time I spent with him back home, and since I don't really have any family that could take advantage of my blue main entrance pass, I thought that it would be a great opportunity to say thank you to him. Unfortunately, every person I talk to seems to have a different idea of how the blue main entrance pass and/or resort discounts work.

My questions are simple: Would I be able to get my old boss and his two family members tickets to the park using my blue main entrance pass, and if so, how many days can I do this?

And: I know that we can get a 40% discount on booking resort hotels. Can this be booked using someone else's credit card, or does the name on the card have to match up with the cast member's name?

Thank you in advance for any/all help. =D

I think I may actually be able to answer this one for you. You can get 3 people total into a park on 3 separate days using your Main entrance pass. So yes you could get your former boss and 2 other people in on 3 separate days.

A side note that doesn't really pertain to you but I wish I had known... you get up to 3 people in. So if you use it to get 2 people in 3 days in a row you forfeit that 3rd extra person. Its 3 days and up to 3 people. Thats it. You can't then use that "3rd person" for a separate 3 days.

I believe that if you use the friends discount on the room you can book it under someone else's card. I'm not sure if this is true with the family. Also if you used the family discount you would have to be there at check in because you are supposed to stay in the room when you use the family discount. This is not true if you use the friends. However I do believe at least 10 days in advance you have to go show your cast member ID to the front desk of whatever resort you book. Take this whole paragraph with a grain of salt though because I am not positive about this. Hopefully someone else will come by and double check me.

It depends on where you are working.

If you are doing a Disney College Program experience at the Disneyland Resort in California, you may use your Blue Main Entrance Pass to admit yourself and up to the number of Guests corresponding to the number of dependents listed in the Company's records up to 16 times per calendar year. If you have no listed dependents, you may admit yourself and up to three Guests.

If you are doing a Disney College Program experience at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, you may use your Blue Main Entrance Pass to admit yourself and up to three other Guests up to six times per calendar year.

If you are utilizing a Family & Friends Resort Discount at the Disneyland Resort, you can book it with another person's Credit Card. You will need to obtain a Friends and Family Voucher from a Disneyland Resort TEAM Centre, a Walt Disney Studios Employee Centre or the Mickey's of Glendale shop at the Walt Disney Imaginnering offices in Glendale. This voucher will need to be presented by your Guests when checking in.

If you are utilizing a Family & Friends Resort Discount at the Walt Disney World Resort, you can indeed book it with anopther person's Credit Card. You will need to visit the Front Desk of the appropriate Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and present your Florida-Site Cast Member ID Card at most 10 days prior to your party's arrival. Friends and Family Discounts at the Walt Disney World Resort are only available for Florida-Site Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies.

Is it like a Hopper Pass or are your guests only admitted in to one park per use?
Thanks

Aside from using your maingate pass to get them in for free (since you can only do that three times then you're done getting anyone in free for the rest of your program) you could buy discounted park tickets for them.

once you leave the collage program do your free passes still work till the end of the year or is only while your actually in the program?

Main Entrance Passes are extended to Cast Members and Employees as a benefit of working for The Walt Disney Company and Affiliated Companies. They remain the property of the Company and must be turned in upon the end of one's employment.

I have a question also. My daughter is currently a CP. We will be visiting her in a few weeks... in order to use her Blue Main Enterance pass does she have to be with us? Or can she give us the pass to use?

As a Disney Internships and Program Participant, she must be with you when first enter the Park. (Full Time and Casual Regular Cast Members are able to share their MEP with their Spouse/Same-Sex Domestic Partner, but that doesn't apply in this instance).

Officially, as her Guests, she must remain with you during the entire time you are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. However, that particular rule is often looked over. Do note that she will be held personally liable if you should encounter any problems during your visit (including but not limited to being asked to leave a Theme Park and/or the Walt Disney World Resort).

Thanks... so say she is working at AK... we would have to go with her to that park that day and then when we left to say to go MK would they give us a ticket or something? I only ask because they did not grant any of her requests for days off... she asked for her birthday (which is Sat Nov 6th, and for Sunday and Monday off... that would have been one day in one pay period and two in the next pay period... they were denied... they have her working until1:30 am on her birthday... she is trying to give the shift away....

If you're trying to have her get you into MK for free (via the main gate pass) then she has to be there to get you in. If she is at Animal Kingdom she'll have to leave AK during her break to get you into MK. She has to be with you to enter the various parks/use the pass.

OP, you could also go to AK and on her break she could let you in the front there and you can park hop over to MK. Or as you already said you could go with her to the park, she can let you in, and go to work and you can park hop over to MK :).

When she lets you in the park with the Maingate pass, the people she is admitting will each be issued a 1 day park hopper ticket, so you would just park hop over to another park and use the ticket they give you to get in.

That is correct. When you all enter together with your daughter, her guest will be given a one-day hopper pass good for that day only. They will have you sign the back of the ticket.

If she then needs to go to work and you desire to go to a different park, you may park hop to another location without her.

My niece worked there and she let us in, and then we were given the park hopper one day tickets to use. She went to work and we had no issues hopping to other locations.

However, as another has pointed out, she is ultimately responsible for any actions on your part while visiting the parks.

I know 3 people in my department who have had "discussions" given to them by management for letting people in and not staying with them. I agree its normally overlooked but for some reason they have been cracking down on it.

I was not aware of that, thanks for that info. Maybe there have been issues and that's why they're cracking down.
